Shirley delivers gift baskets and floral to DCL..she is an approved vendor and very, very sweet!! She has made many baskets for us and friends

Since I knew I could trust her to deliver the floral I wanted..I went with her..she told me she use to have the concession for DCL weddings a few years ago..so she knew the bouquets..

Thanks for the info! I'll have to remember this in January when I get down to ironing out the floral details with Cathy.

I'm surprised they allow an outside floral vendor when truthfully, if Disney wanted, they could have one floral company allowed and have a monopoly of sorts for their ships....and leave us with no other choice, economically/financially speaking. I wonder why they do allow it?

Any thoughts?

if you buy the floral thru DCL, they do have special vendors.. I think they have to keep vendors open..probably some free trade agreement or collusion if you don't. DCL does charge a "delivery fee" of $12 I think..that is why I had them sent to my friends suite..she already had a delivery from Shirley so they charge per stateroom/

DCL did keep them in the cooler for 24 hrs..I am guessing that if it became out of control, they wouldn't keep the floral for you. They do control the # of ceremonies performed on the ship..maybe that helps

and DH has a son from a previous marriage who is 15

i just noticed that I never explained about DSS not going on the cruise..his mother signed him up for "Lead America" trip this summer AFTER we had booked the cruise..he lived on a college dorm for 20 days in July..he had to choose what to do..cruise with parent or live in a dorm and fly an airplane for 20 days..he chose college..can't say I blame him!!

the bridal bouquet is included in your package..the only other floral you need is corsages or extra boutonnieres..if you have bridesmaids, I would contact Shirley..I KNOW she is cheaper..DCL wants $125 for a bridesmaid bouquet..I think Shirley charged about $75 for 3..I am not sure as the bridesmaids bought their bouquets as a gift for me

i love hearing about the DCL VRs all you guys have done/are doing. I'm really jealous I'm hoping one day DH and I will do one. We went on DCL last year and we enjoyed it.

I'd LOVE to do a VR on castaway cay.....seriously at this point it's either there or the castle so probably the cay b/c the castle weddings/VRs are WAY too expensive.

We didn't marry at disney or DCL, but we honeymooned there. I dunno maybe for our 10th or 25th (we're on our 2nd right now lol).

Okay, I will definitely keep this in mind. My concern would be the flowers not matching b/c I want orchids in there and sometimes it's hard to get the same colors (I suppose w/all flowers) if they're not from the same supplier/bunch but I would have to take my chances to save money! I want my three bridesmaids to have flowers and the groomsmen (three as well) and maybe our moms and both my grandmas to have a corsage.

pick flowers that compliment your bouquet..I had roses, green orchids and calla lilles..shirley used roses and hydrangeas..she was suppose to have orchids but they weren't available..I was VERY happy with what she did

I did order the corsage from DCL because it was $21..pretty cheap for that

Made no changes to cake or flowers! My dress is NOT in a bag yet, it's STILL at my seamstress house and I'm getting a little stressed!!!!! Yes, Rufaro is my onboard consulatant.

Just wanted to say hello to all the VR Brides. I'm one too!! We are renewing our vows on the Magic May of 09!!

I was undecided for a awhile if to choose deck 7 or sessions because I wasn't sure how much they decorated or if I needed to bring some decorations of my own......

It will just be the hubby and me on the ship. Did you two get a first dance? Oh, and can you choose the Disney music for any of those?
