I actually love this cake. It is a little different! I chose the square one in my packet. I am going to ask them to put a couple of hidden mickeys on there if possible. But I think I am going to leave it all white.

Thank you. I was lucky enough to have a fellow diser that is in culinary school and was given a "back stage" tour of the kitchen while they were making the cake. She sent me pictures...very cool. Florencia told me that he was experimenting with the square, and did I mind? I was pretty easy going about it; as long as it was chocolate and had Mickey and Minni I was fine. ;)

I use tinypic.com...

Thanks for the comment...I have a photo rep that I don't know WHERE it came from:rotfl:

Gee I don't know Betsy? :confused3

Off to Disney tomorrow!!!!! See you all real soon. Who's coming?

I used Shutters and bought the biggest package (I wanted the pictures on a CD). If you read my PJ you can see all the hassles I went through. My pictures are not the same as if I had a great proffessional taking them, but they are good. I got lots of good ones and I also had two friends with DSLR's taking some. Here is the link to all of my pictures taken by shutters.

I went to shutters ahead of time and asked for the best, most seasoned photographer. I doubt I got them, but the guy I got was ok...he knew 100% how to operate the camera. BUT he had no creativity. I set up about 75% of our shots. I knew I wanted some of us laying in the sand and some with the ship etc. I just pretty much told him where to stand and what to do...LOL But in the end I ended up with some great pictures!

Hope this helps Jen.....Your kids are ADORABLE!!!!!!

I'm going to have a list of poses that I'd like...just in case!!

I'm going to have a list of poses that I'd like...just in case!!

This is a great Idea....I took it one step farther for my Magic Kingdom Pictures.....I printed out about 20 I liked and handed them to my photographer! LOL She was excited because 75% of them were pictures she had taken!

The close up of my veil was a friend's camera...her pictures turned out MUCH better than Shutters..While I am not happy that they were very hot (the flash was too much) I am glad that I got them..the photographer got some shots that I love (my bouquet close up and cake feeding shots) but overall...if you have someone with a good camera, use them.

I totally believe I got what I paid for..I used the MUCH cheaper "vow renewal" package and I think I got a new photographer (he had an earning my ears ribbon) but again, not totally unhappy...just made me wiser and able to pass on information to future brides.

Your pics look amazing to me. I'm kinda naive when it comes to quality of pics, as long as the kids are smiling then I'm a happy girl. I 'm hoping since the prices are going up that they will have better photog when I go:lmao:

I don't think that I can say it enough but thank you for your wealth of knowledge.

awww..I love the baby eating the ice cream! I love her little fingers!

That was her first time eating "real" food. When she got a hold of my hand she would not let go. My mom (she took the pic) where laughing so hard.

Awww adorable baby pics!

I plan on having my dad take a lot of pics with his new DSLR and I plan on taking a lot of detail shots with my own DSLR. My mom had said we should just let my dad take pics, but I don't think I am going to do that. For one thing we wont have a pic of him walking me down the aisle! I don't want my dad to miss out on the day because he is taking pics (plus he is still learning how to use his camera and his shots weren't always that great when we were at the parks last month) so I think I am going to get the smallest photo package. I also really want to do an engagement session with the Roots around WDW soon, but I need to call them! I've been wanting them to do that since before Carrie made them DisBoard famous

My mother has a really nice canon ultrasonic with a huge scope (not sure of the model #) so I hope she will get some good ones. Am I getting this right that you can purchase the cheapest pic package, but upgrade after you look at the pics? Can I tell the photog that I would like to book him/her for an additional hour if I feel the session is going good? I love what I have seen from Roots. If you can do it go for it!

Aw Jen! Your girls are so cute!!

Thank you. They are my ray of sunshine and my beam of light.

I would like the picture CD too with all the shots not 100 or whatever they are telling people.

I love the pics of your and DH laying in the sand. There is a website called trashthedress.com and I would like to get a few shots in the water with the dress on. *Note to self* pics laying in the sand before the laying in the water;)

You have been a inspiration and any info that you have shared is awesome and greatly appreciated.

Thank you for the nice comments about my DD's.
BTW sorry about the big pics, I will try to get them smaller next time. :disrocks:

Our Daughter was VERY LUCKY to find a Photographer in Florida (near Orlando) I believe who is going to go on the Cruise and give her all her Pictures, a CD with all rights, and a Website and DD is paying for a category 12 room for two and the photographer is paying the difference for her children to come along......that is allways an option for you also.

I just realized that I haven't given any info. about us.

I was a single mother and not really looking for a relationship since I was heartbroken in the first one. I was totally happy with what I recieved out of it....DD Krysta. I started a new job at a winery here in CA and Jesus trained me how to operate one the the machines that we have, so we spent quite a bit of time together. It was a I like you/you like me but we are not going to admit it kinda thing, but I got impaticant after 2 months of this and said "Are you going to ask me out" We dated a few times before I introduced him to Krysta. He quickly fell in love with my daughter and she to him. /we got a little surprise when I found out that I was preggers again. He told me several times that he was going to ask me to marry him but I always told him that we lived together and have a kid and one on the way so I didn't want to get married. After Lilly was born Jesus' mother from mexico came to visit with his sister and he got down on his knee in front of his fam and mine. Of course I said yes. He was soo nervous it was so cute.

Since I can't book airfare/hotel/tickets yet (can you imagine that) the plans as of now is May 3-8, 2010 in WDW and May 9-12 on the Wonder with the ceramony on CC.

So far my parents, my DD's, my younger brother, the oldest brother and SIL, a close friend from work and a family friend have all confirmed and have put deposits down. Jesus' side I need to get together with them to help get things going.

I have decided that I didn't want any MOH/BM just Jesus, the minster and myself standing at the alter. I want everyone just to feel like guests and not having to stress. I'm not really keen on the first dance either but I will keep you updated on that. We are going to do Palo for the brunch so we can still be in the regular dining rotation because I don't want to miss Pirate Night/dinner with family/anything really. Those are the plans so far and as more comes around I will keep you updated.

Thank you for letting me share my story.
Jen

I have thought about this idea too (thanks to Mikkel's PJ) and have talked with DF about it. It might be a possibility but all the cat. 12's are gone from my cruise. Maybe all the travel agents are hoarding them. Did your DD get a referral from someone or did she find them on the internet? Do they have a website that I can view? Sorry for all the ???'s.

Thanks again

Does anyone know about the minister on CC? Does he stick to a guideline or does he kinda addlib? I would like for him to be relaxed and make a joke or two. We are a relaxed go by the seat of our pants but noisy group.

Jen,
Your kids are adorable!!! I love the pics. Your story is so sweet too. Good luck on all of your plans.

About the photography - I am really, really, really nervous about what we are going to get. I am used to being on the other side of the lens, and I have certain shots that we will have to set up ourselves - like Lisa did, and then just ask the photographer to take the shot. I wish I could afford to take Randy or Misty or even the Roots with me, but it just isn't feasible.

I have to say that Leanna and Dakota's pics came out really well compared to some of the other cruise ones. I wonder if that photographer will still be around on our cruise.

Great story Jen!!

Thank you both I feel so blessed. Another awesome blessing is that my parents are so supportive and help out since DF and I both work graveyard at the winery, so my parents watch the girls so we can get our rest during the day.

I was kinda worried about the picture quality also, but I think I will just have to let it go because I won't be able to pay for a professional to come aboard with us. Tanya I know that your are a professional photog so I definitely understand that you want/deserve the best. If you purchase the CD ($1000 ouch) is there a way that you can make them better, maybe even off the picture it self. I wish that I can only have half the talent you have. Best wishes always.

Hi ya Tanya I have only seen the pics that you have posted on here but I just went to your website and omg your pictures are amazing. You and your husband do a great job. Is that your DD in the garden pic...she is soo cute gotta love curly hair. If you decide to use Shutters with your talents I'm sure you can do amazing things even with the worst pictures.

OT, but since we are talking photography...Tanya..I have a Sony A200 and want to get an external flash..I know nothing about power and all..I want a diffuser..can you tell me a good flash or should I stick to the Sony brand that is made for the camera

Ok - I know literally nothing about Sony cameras. Sorry! I study Nikons and Canons (sometimes) and crazy large format cameras like Hasselblads.

Usually the best thing to do is to get the external flash that is made for your camera. Nikon flashes are made for Nikon cameras, so you get the best results. However, there is usually another offbrand company that also makes compatable parts for the cameras. In the case of the Nikons again, it is Quantaray. I don't know if they make ones to fit the Sony's or not. It is best to go to a reputable camera store and ask.

In my case, we have both the Nikon and the Quantaray flash b/c they do two different things. The Nikon that was made for the camera has a much faster recycle time, so it is possible to take several shots in a row w/o waiting for it to charge. The Quantaray does not do this, but has other features on it for studio situations that I like.

Quantaray also makes these flashes called Sunpacks that are pretty powerful. They are cheaper than the large ones I use, but still provide a lot of light.

Okay - looking in my catalogs -

Umm diffusers usually come with some of the nicer flashes, or you can get them for really cheap - like $20. Don't laugh, but I use my hand a lot, also plastic wrap, and hair nets (the solid ones not mesh) work really well.

The only ones that I see that fit Sony are the Sony flashes and the Vivitar flashes. If you are going to spend that much $, make sure you get one with a decent recycle time, and a head that will do 90 degree bounce and swivel.

Thanks for the compliments! I feel like I have so much to learn still! And I am no where as good as Misty or Randy. They shoot way more weddings than we do. My specialty is really in the studio, and my DH is great at weddings and location shoots.

And yes, that is my DD dressed as a fairy. There's one on there of my DS fishing too. My poor kids! I drag them into the studio to use as guinea pigs all the time.

As much as I want a CD of pics, I do not want to spend $1000. This isn't my first time getting married, and the MK shoot is more important. I think that I am just going to choose the smallest package to start with, and then maybe upgrade it if its good.

thank you so much..I was looking at the Sony, but I don't use it that often, so it seems like a lot of money for a hobby.
I love my Canon AE1..I learned to use it in high school and we had a dark room that I was always using...

I'll look up some of the Sunpacks in another catalogue and see if they are Sony compatable. You can get them for as cheap as $50 for the smaller ones.

I miss the darkroom days!! Photoshop is fun, but it ain't the same.
