I just got the new 2012 planning packet from Shanda. :) i think im really going to like the new updates. I havent really looked at it just at a glance but it looks pretty good!!

Just looked through the new planning guide and I'm super excited. I think I squealed loudly for a good two and half minutes. I'm not quite sure what the flowers are in the Oceanfront Elegance bouquet but I want it! :lovestruc It'll go with my dress perfectly :rotfl:

Not sure about the cake options at all yet, but regardless, they definitely make me much more excited than the other options. If we were having an "Under The Sea" theme, I'd totally use the Under the Sea cake. It looks gorgeous, but I'm thinking something more classic and elegant.

Anyway, that's my take. I'm so excited!!

I'm a little disappointed with the cake options. I was really hoping for the ability to customize more (or at least have some color options).

I was a little disappointed in the cake selections too. I think I liked the Classic cake from the previous years better, but I can live with the new "Romance" one. The thing that's eating me up right now is the flowers! I really liked the tropical bouquet over the roses and now they changed it up and added more orchids just to torment me! :headache: Back to the drawing board.....

SO excited for you all! Post some pictures of the new choices if you can, I would love to see them! :)

I am planning my parents VR and got the new packet also. Not so thrilled with the cake choices also since I liked the square cake choice from the old options and would like more color options.

But one thing that did catch my eye is that you can now have different flavor options for the top and bottom ties.

This is actually perfect for my parents because my mom liks vanilla and my dad likes chocolate.

Do you think I could make the top tier the Specialty Cake: Chocolate Fudge Cake with Chocolate Ganache Filling. Or do you think that is an entirely separate cake?

I would love to see a photo of this. We had our cake with a kind of Under the Sea theme for our vow renewal, but that was ordered from the Disneyland bakery:

I was wondering the same thing. My guess was that it was an entire cake and that was it, but I'm not sure.

Oh no! I really hope not. my fiancee and I are chocolate fanatics but I feel like a white cake for the celebration is most appropriate. If they send the top tier back to the stateroom for us to enjoy later on, I'd love for it to be the specialty flavor. That way, the cake eaten at the celebration would satisfy my need for a traditional white cake while still being able to enjoy the chocolaty goodness back in the stateroom with my new husband :)

I guess I'll just have to ask.

Also, did anyone ever have to ask Shanda about gluten-free options? My best girl friend will be at the wedding but she has a severe allergy to gluten and therefore wouldn't be able to have regular cake like everyone else. Just curious if anybody's had experience with that....

Woke up this morning, and saw the new 2012 Planning packet from Shanda!!! So excited for the new options. I have no idea what flowers or cake I'll choose at the moment, but I'm really happy they changed things up a bit :goodvibes

Oh, and Happy (early) Thanksgiving, everyone!! They don't celebrate the holiday here in Australia, but my sister is over visiting me, so we did a big meal for friends last night. Cooking was fun...dishes not so much ;)

oh how exciting!!! Yes if anyone can upload pics of the new cake and flower options that would be fantastic!

Ginger-

Thank you so much for posting the new picks for 2012. There is a great selection of flowers! I would be torn between the roses and the ocean elegance one since I love hydrangeas. I do have to tell you, I had the rose bouquet and it was GORGEOUS...It was made up of 3 dozen roses and lasted about 5 days after I got home. I was very happy with it.

The cakes are very cute! I definitely would have picked the first one. My cake was AWESOME tasting!

I am supposed to get all of my pictures back this weekend so hopefully I will start my TR soon!!

Thanks again for posting!

I am happy they added some new options for flowers but the prices are outrageous. We already paid 2500 for the onboard wedding and then they are going to charge us 125 dollars a bouqet for brides maids. We are looking into silk flowers for the brides maids for that reason and because we are planning on running all over nassau for pictures.

They wanted $125 for our bridesmaids bouquets too..I ordered them from The Perfect Gift and I think it was $75 for 3. I also ordered the additional stems for decorating the Palo table. They delivered them right to the ship for me!
