Thanks! We're thinking about changing to A Dream is A Wish on the piano, but DF is not sure since he wants to know what it sounds like first.

The piano player was great. Although to be perfectly honest, I don't remember hearing much of the music, instead I was focused my DH.

I actually only remember hearing it before I walked on the deck...but when I watched all the raw video, I realized he played for the entire time we did pictures too.

Does anyone know if you can carry flowers back onboard from Key West?
We will still be in the United States so maybe no big deal?

I guess i'm not even sure it would be that much cheaper than what Disney charges, being that Key West is a tourist area too.

I would need just one bouquet for my daughter and something for my granddaughter to carry. Oh and flowers for our hair.

Do you think its too much work to be in search of a florist is Key West?

Thank you!
Lori

Wow, I can't believe how much time has passed since I've been on here! It's been a whirl wind the past few weeks! DF and I booked our cruise, and booked our wedding! We're doing the 3-night Bahamian on the Dream from 09-13-12 to 09-16-12 getting married onboard on 9/14 in Nassau! :lovestruc

I waited the week and got my e-mail with pdf files from Shanda :) It looks like it should be a pretty easy process! I'm SO excited to have a pianist playing Disney songs, because even BEFORE I'd decided on a Disney Wedding, I wanted my processional to be "A whole new world" and even thinking about it right now makes me misty-eyed! (Can somebody please recommend a good waterproof mascara?)

We also made ALL of our invitations by hand and mailed out our first wave of invites to family, family friends, and close friends! THAT part took forever, took so much time and energy, but worth it in the end! (Our invites were a meld of Doctor Who meets Mickey Mouse! We're such nerds!) We made 50 invites and still have 18 left!

I'm so scared that SO few people will make the journey out (airfare, travel TO Port Canaveral, plus the cruise fare) that I want to send out every invite! I'm also scared about the cruise booking up! Has anyone encountered either of these problems? My mom keeps telling me that rooms are going quickly and I don't know how to convey to my guests that it's SO VERY IMPORTANT to book NOW!

Lets talk photographers! I'm not at all impressed by Disney's photography packages and not enthused after hearing about some of their mediocrity! I want much more bang for my buck! I want to meander the whole beautiful ship taking photos everywhere in our formal dress, not a short 15-30 minute session. Who has a decent priced photographer they used that I can contact? I would love one that costs similar to the Disney package and not much more, but I'm concerned because the cruise rate for ONE adult in a deck 2 ocean view (sans vacation insurance) is just under $900, so how much would they charge additionally for their time and photo package? :confused3

Thanks for reading, and thanks for any advice!

Lori ( haha..I saw the kids and thought your were A) ..I ordered flowers from The Perfect Gift and had them sent to the ship in Port Canaveral. They kept them in the cooler for me. I don't know what your VR date is but key west is only the day after you leave port, right?
Perfect gift was WAAAAYYYY cheaper than DCL for our extra table flowers

As far as a photographer, check out Lifelong Studios http://www.lifelongstudios.com/ We had Jorge, who was fantastic! He took some amazign shots and stayed with us the ENTIRE day!! Literally from Sunup to just before dinner he was with us. If you call them, tell them Brian and Pam sent you over!.

I also was not sure of Disney's photographers (I heard mixed reviews) and we decided to go with Mikkel Paige, she is a friend of the travel agent who is helping you book your wedding! We are very excited and have also booked her for the night of the wedding to take family pictures all around the ship and at dinner. We booked a private room at Palo for our guests that evening for dinner!

I love Mikkel..she is soooo sweet and her photos are so pretty!

Does anyone know if you can print your own photos on the Dream at Shutters? We have a surprise for our guests, but I need to be able to print a few photos for them before the cruise is over!

I don't know if they do or not...If they don't, and you need to print some, I think it is HP that makes a very little portable photo printer that prints 4x6 pictures and does a pretty good job.

We thought we would have a small party to go with us for the wedding and we have 59 people going! The only thing that I worried about was that my immediate family that I wanted to be there, would be able to go (and they are). I was SO excited to have so many friends attending. I have heard good and bad about Disney photography so many people opt to bring their own photographer. All of them have different pricing. It depends on what you work out with that person. I am bringing a friend of mine that is a photographer.

I loved our photographer Robin on the Dream. He took some fantastic photos.

I believe you can purchase extra photos to print at Shutters. Depending on when the wedding is though, they might not be ready until the last day. Our CC wedding was the day before we got off the ship, and we picked up printed photos right before we disembarked.

Our photographer was Lee on the Dream and she was wonderful! I think they would probably let you purchase some the day after your ceremony. We had a appt. the next day to pick out our pictures and she had all of them printed already. We didn't actually pick up our set until the last night, though. We did have the option to buy individual pictures but we didn't do that. I would have assumed if we did we took them right then.

Shutters does print all of the pictures onboard. That actually was the worst part, besides not bringing a photopgrapher with us. We spent 4 hours during our last day onboard sitting in our cabin trying to decide which prints we wanted.

I can not suggest enought to bring your own photographer!! It is the one thing I would change about my wedding if I could!

My wedding papers Shanda sent me at the begining of teh year say you get to keep the cake server set, but if you look online at the website, it's not listed anymore. I don't which one to believe! lol! :confused3

Take your paperwork from Shanda and make them honor it. When I got married they tried only giving me 100 photos on the CD. I had the original paper work showing ALL PHOTOS ON CD and they had to honor it.

Has anyone brought along their own officiant?? My uncle is a minister, and I'm contemplating having him perform the ceremony (in lieu of the Bahamian administrator) to make it more personal. I know DFTW doesn't mind as long as the officiant also has a reservation, but I was just curious about other people's experiences/logistics of doing this. Thanks!! :goodvibes

OK.. I just got the proofs back from my photographer. We didn't go with the Disney photographer. We had wanted these guys before we even had a Disney wedding planned but couldn't afford them. We ran into them at a bridal show and were able to work out a deal with them to shoot the wedding! We were so excited and now I see why she wanted them!

I can wholeheartedly recommend Lifelong Studios, out of Tampa! We had Jorge as our main photographer and he was amazing! He stayed with us the entire day and called us numerous time with some ideas or places to shoot! He made good use of the Wave Phones!! He even joined us on Pirate night and shot some of that!

Here are just a few of the shots he took. ---= PHOTOS = ---

You can find them on the web at http://lifelongstudiosblog.blogspot.com/ or http://www.lifelongstudios.com/

Give them a call if you need a photographer who will travel with you! Tell them Brian and Pam say HI!

Brian

Betsy I thought the same thing when I saw Lori..."I know those kids"...LOL
