someone mentioned it was $800 to have characters at your wedding - is that per character or for a group of them

seems a lot for 20 minutes if it's just one (a lot for a few too but if it was for minnie mickey donald and daisy i think we'd to it)

anyone know?

Does anyone have pictures of the current CC ceremony site or where to find them? I might be mistaken but I swore I read that since they made some changes/added to CC the old ceremony site is no longer the ceremony site? I'm not sure though :confused3

TIA everyone!

There are actually two sites, one beach and one pier. Both sites are very close to one another. We were originally told that the beach was unavailable due to construction, and then it was the pier that could not be used. This caused a little strife! :upsidedow When we were married in December, honestly it looked like either site could be used, so I would not worry about this.

We had the beach location, which overlooks the family beach-

The pier overlooks more of the bay and ship-

My fiance and I have just decided on a CC ceremony on our cruise. What have everyone's experiences with Shanda been like so far? I know there were some problems with past coordinators so just wondering how she is working out for everyone. Also, what things can you change about the wedding?cake?flowers?

TIA!

Shanda seems more willing to jump through hoops than Brianna was...and she makes sure to fully explain things, etc. I haven't yet had my ceremony - but my travel agent talked to the people on board and for some reason they already know about my December wedding! WEIRD! So, it sounds like they actually get some info ahead of time and not just later in an email from DFTW. There are special requests I had like a specific drink type to serve instead of champagne at the Cake and Champagne Celebration and she said it's the same fee as champagne is, just charged per person - we are having 40 guests. I also asked for maybe a fruit platter to pass around - again, charged per person. You can choose to have the C&CC onboard or on the island - but on the island isn't as organized and nice as what I was told by Shanda. Just call Shanda and ask her and she will perfectly clarify things for you : ) I have noticed that they have changed certain aspects of the weddings over time, so you just need to check with her for current info.

They send you a package (elements and enhancements) where you choose from 3 cake "styles" and 3 bouquet "styles" - the flowers types can be SLIGHTLY modified - for example I told her I HATE callas and they said they will use more cymbidium orchids instead (tropical bqt). The bouquet colors can be modified easily though you just tell them what colors you like. Because of the required longevity of the bouquets for the sailing (since the bouquets are designed in Orlando) they only do specific types of flowers that will last - orchids, callas, roses, (hardier blooms as opposed to softer, delicate types). The cake comes in three styles because there isn't an actual cake professional on board - they are trained to know only the three styles.

I did not know they had 3 types of cake designs. The last I heard you were restricted to white only and didn't have any options on cake design. Can you post pictures or describe the 3 designs?

i have another question for all you DCL brides. What day is the day you celebrate your anniversary? Is it the day you got on the ship and had the "legal" ceremony or the day of the DCL ceremony? Just wondering everyone's opinions on that.

those are very nice but a heck of a lot of cake if you're only able to have 8 guests and you can't bring the cake off the ship

just seems like a waste of cake :(

we bought the sail away cake and decorations and never even opened the cake box. looked nice though

You can have more than 8 guests.......we had 20 and ate the rest of cake at dinner the next night. Lisa had over 30 guests I believe. the only "restrictions" on guests is that Deck 7 can only hold 18 plus Bride and Groom. If you have more, you either have to use a lounge or Castaway Cay.

Yup we had 30 and still had left over cake. We gave it to the staff. I am a travel agent and have been dealing with Shanda for a client of mine and it has been pretty good. She has emailed us back quickly and answered all questions.

Oh and our anniversary is the day we got married on Castaway Cay!!! :)

If someone could tell me how to upload (I can't seem to find the upload option...??) I would be happy to share with other future DCL brides!!! :goodvibes ;)

you can set up an account at photobucket.com and upload them there then post the link her.

it's really easy

Our wedding is not until October, but we plan to celebrate on the day of the legal ceremony. It will be 10/10/10!!

Can someone tell me about what time on boarding day you met with the on board coordinator and what time the legal ceremony was? We're trying to plan a Dismeet for our cruise and I don't want it to be the same time as the wedding stuff.
