Hey girls, yes it was a great weekend. Sorry I have been unable to write, I do have a picture of the dress my friend was able to take but they do not allow you to take photos in the dress, as soon as she sends them to me I will post. I am really excitd now what the heck does Rob wear? he is so admit to wear something comfy and not a tux he hates them...any suggestions?

Dave wore a Navy Blue shirt....Tommy Bahama I think that had hawaiian flowers imprinted on it with a tan suit. He took the jacket off later and just had the blue and tan....Dapper Dan!!! Tim, the "best man" did the same thing.

We are debating on our attire too. My DH won't wear Tuxedos, won't wear Hawaiian Shirts(I saw the new Hawaiian Shirts & dresses on Disney Shopping and those were too cute and fit with a DCL VR for the Bridal Party, however my DH won't go for it either and doesnt't think his 2 friends and brother would wear it either:(!). He's been my biggest challenge(even vetoing red and white polka dot dresses for the ladies to fit in with Minnie Mouse). I suggested linnen shirts & linnen pants(for comfort) and nothing is pleasing him. Did anyone go with Disney themed Polo Shirts and Khaki Pants?

I want to get something affordable for our Bridal Party as they will be paying for the cruise, at the very least we can pay for their attire( besides us manditorily having to pay for our own outfits and our DS). Our Bridal party and guests are pretty much all family, except 2 of DH's closest friends.

Hi everyone

Great to see so many new DCL brides :woohoo: I need a favour I have lost Karen’s (at fine art photography) email and I still don’t have my album from our MK shoot :sad2: I have been trying to track her down through Brianna’s replacement but I don’t have an email contact for her either (I assumed that Brie's emails would just be forwarded to her replacement but they keep bouncing back) if anyone has a email for either of them could you pm me pretty please

Hi Nessa!!! Hope all is well with you guys!!!

Did he wear the Cubavera shirt or the Tommy Bahama? Cubavera was the only shirt I could find in white.

It was the Tommy Bahama one you sent me......same thing right? Either way, he looked good and was comfortable!

The Tommy is much softer with a tropical imprint..the Cubavera was the only shirt I could find in bright white to match my dress...

I just thought it was funny if you ended up with a Cubavera shirt too!

My husband wore this shirt and linen pants. We ordered it from HERE www . mauishirts . com

We also ordered the Flower Girl's dress and ring bearers outfits. They all matched!

Also....if you can bring your ownn Photographer....They can get you every single place Disney can and you will end up with MUCH better pictures!

I agree with the outside photographer..I would have downgraded to a lower cabin so that I could have had Roots or Jennifer Warner..just didn't know about it.

I would have even went with someone unknown who would have been willing to do it in exchange for just the cruise....I know other brides who have been able to find photographers willing to do it for just the cruise in exchange for a disk! I thought about it once I saw my pictures....I have warned all fellow Disney brides from there on out (even one I met up with on my honeymoon) it is my one regret!

I'm surprised, it's harder than it looks finding a photographer who wants to do an exchange, even just a cruise with transfers and airfare for a CD with the images on it. And the few I've found willing to do it, I don't like their pictures at all!!!

Our daughter used an outside photographer...she was FANTASTIC....I have posted a few of her pics on here someplace, if you would like to see some of them post here and I will put a link in again.

Her name is Jennifer Werneth, she is young energetic and took beautiful pictures of Dd's wedding this past November on the Wonder!!!!!

Ok I had some time so I added some other pics to my web album so I can add a few more in here....

Those are a few, I will have to make a whole new post now that I finallly have some time to put more of them on my computer from the disk that DD sent me from Jennifer, she is totally AMAZING

those are the most AMAZING shots - your daughter is GORGEOUS...but I'm sure you already know that!! :lovestruc :hippie:

I am paying for a family friend to come on the cruise and take photos - she's a family friend and was more than happy to come along. She's not normally a wedding photographer (she did my other sisters wedding - so I know she can get good shots..), but I'd rather pay her $700 fare than pay Disney to take photos for a short amount of time for virtually the same cost. It's totally worth it because that way we will have someone to take photos even into the evening during dinner , etc. It's a great thing to think about for future DCL brides if they have someone in mind that is willing to pay airfare and take photos (and put on a cd) in exchange for a cruise fare (who wouldn't want to go to the bahamas for like 200 bucks???)! [I can understand why a professional photographer would rather stay on land and make way more money from someone else's wedding photos that are being 'paid' for...]. But, if you can get someone you know to do it that is somewhat a photographer I think that is even a great idea! (as long as they have a good photography camera and basic skills!)

(I don't mean to imply Disney is 'bad' with photos, I just don't want to be limited to a short amount of time for photos - I want a bazillion photos!). When we did our engagement photos a WDW the photographer rushed us :furious: and I don't want to risk my wedding to being like that!!

DisneyDMBNut, thank you for the kind welcome.

Goldeelox-Thank you for that advice. I am hoping to use whether at WDw or DCL a good friend of mine from the West Palm Beach area (she is a friend from High School) as our Photographer. Lindsay just opened her own Photography Studio, so at least She is an option for me. We don't have a single picture from our actual wedding day, so I know what you mean about Photos being an important element. I'm thinking of bringing my own Camcorder and having someone shoot the raw footage for us and either on our new Mac computer, I'll do the editing myself or see about having a friend from college(with a film degree) do the editing for us or see if my film teacher from college would be up to doing it for me. Those are great ideas. I will make sure I make an extra copy of the raw footage so incase we have to look to hire someone else to do it we have it.

We're planning on having the video camera with us anyway. A perk to bringing your own photographer with you is they can capture more for you than the allotted time they give you with DCLs photographer.

What is the Max # of guests you can have for a DCL(on-board or Castaway Cay) Ceremony? We have way too many adults(sorry if I forgot to mention DH wants our immediate families & his 2 best guy friends to join us) and if we hire an outside photographer we want to make sure we aren't over. We have too many adults for a reception in Palo (only 3-4 kids) so we may try to add some Hors Doeuvres to go with the cake. Also are you able to add bottles of juice or Water for the kids( they're all too young for sparkling cider and we don't let them have soda). Also I know they give you a confirmed reservation for Palo as part of the Package, are you able to skip Palo or have them Substitute it? I think since we'll have guests we haven't seen in a while we're going to want to dine with them and I would hate to leave our little guy with the family at dinner and then the kids club(plus I know DH is going to want to spend as much time with his 2 friends since he hasn't seen them since High School).

The max guests are 18 for Deck 7, 28 for an onboard lounge, and 48 for Castaway Cay. The DFTW site outlines them here

We were able to add ice cream in addition to cake for an extra fee. I believe they also had ice water on hand. You might check with Shanda for specifics.

We chose not to go to Palo for dinner as we wanted to spend time with our guests. One of our BM's was also under 18, so there was no way we were going to leave her out! :) We planned on having brunch at Palo, but there was an issue with our reservation, and that didn't work out. What other brides have done is have dessert at Palo after your regular dining rotation for just the two of you.

FYI, we were told that under no circumstances was the Palo reservation eligible as an onboard credit.

Oh! My DH wore a white button down with khakis.

HTH :goodvibes

You can actually have over 48 guests for Castaway Cay, you just have to contact disney for the pricing. Also if the wedding is on Castaway Cay you will have the cake cutting in Palo, even the kids are allowed in.

We did the brunch on Palo...It was better then the dinner in my opinion!!!

Hi everyone. We just "booked" our VR cruise for March 2011 on the Dream. We have a hold on Castaway Cay. Is anyone else planningtheir wedding/vr on the dream?? so excited!!!!

I didn't use DCL ship photo, I had a friend take the pictures who happened to be on her honeymoon on the same cruise as us. However, we were rained out and our ceremony was inside the lounge. By the time the ceremony was over, mid december plus rain storm equals NIGHTIME pictures. So the beautiful blue pictures that Belle16127's daughter has, I don't have. But i've got some pretty cool night ones, so i'm good. :thumbsup2
