Disney considers reducing portion sizes to cut costs.

As long as people are in agreement with these “cost cutting” measures, Di$ney will continue down this greedy path. I already cut my park days down due to their money grab. The next step will be everything if it gets too out of hand.

I’ve always gone to the parties and after hrs events. Now they raised the prices almost double and cut the hours. Yea, not gonna happen for me anymore. Maybe they should start by cutting the insanely overpriced and over rated actor/actress contracts. They still would’ve raked in monster box office sales with or without over paying the Black Widow or Star Wars cast. The fan base of Marvel and Star Wars is massive. Remember, at the end of the day, Di$ney need us, not the other way around!

Disney has repeatedly stated their need to reduce crowds at their parks - is this is their way to do this - have the CFO call your customer base a bunch of fat slobs ?

To reduce crowds all they need to do is reduce Park Reservations. Parks are packed and it's ALL ON Disney now that they do control the number of guests. They want your money, and all this does is hand them more.

For a company that loves to virtue signal how tolerant and inclusive they are, the waistline comment shows just what hypocrites they actually are.
It's just more of Disney's motto the last few years - Pay more for less...this time, they just said the quiet part out loud, and told us what they really think of their customers...
You both beat me to the punch and took the words right out of my mouth!

Disney is going to serve a kids size portion to some big grown man at a table service meal and it's not going to be pretty. :scratchin

I think this is already happening. I've mentioned many times on various threads how puny the portions were when we went to Cape May and the servers would disappear so it was difficult to ask for more food. We also went to the new prix-fixe at Cali Grill in October and my DH was very disappointed by how small his entree was.

Absurd. I have three, four-day tickets in my account. I regret purchasing them now.

I actually think they can pull this off and make it a win-win if they do the following: shrink the portion sizes but put in a sampler plate option so you get 2-3 appetizers of smaller portions and/or 2-3 entrees of smaller portions. This way they can increase prices with a smaller portion sizes and the customer will be happy to pay for the wider variety at a higher cost per oz of food. There have been a few places where I was torn about what entree or appetizer to get and if they did 30% of the portion size but gave me 3 types of apps/entrees, I would have gladly paid more for less. I don't need more food, but I do like to try a few items on the menu.

If WDW was really concerned about people's health, they'd stop putting 100 pounds of salt in every 3 cubic inches of food they serve--for starters.

But this reduced-portion-size thing got me thinking . . . What if they could reduce the size of the rooms at resorts and so expand the number of available rooms? If they reduced the room sizes by a tenth, they could get an additional room for every 10 rooms, so a resort with 1,000 rooms would now have 1,100 rooms, all costing lots more than the original rooms used to cost way back in the olden days of 2019.

Think about it, WDW--there's money to be had everywhere.

Want to use the boat transportation? That's an additional charge on G+.

Enter your room more than twice a day? Five bucks for each additional entry. After all, that's wear and tear on the doorframe.

If you want a cup of tap water, sure, the water will always be free. This is, after all, Walt Disney World. But from now on the cup will cost $3 and you may not reuse it. Also, we will not refill your reusable water bottle.

Just because your towels from yesterday haven't dried yet is no reason to need new towels. If you want some nice dry towels, that'll be $5 each.

Each time you leave the lights on in your room for more than 30 minutes, you will be charged a fee as yet to be determined.

It's so easy to charge money for anything and everything. Soon housekeeping will be an upcharge instead of declining it being a refund.

Oh tell me about the tacos. I love a good taco place.

Mexas Tacos

We were recently at Ft. Wilderness with friends and got hungry around 8pm. It's not too far, delicious and reasonably priced. Clean too although it's attached to a gas station. The cook uses his grandmother's chicken recipe and it's the best!! We had a great time. This was my second visit and will be back.

Well... A lot of what you are saying would actually help the planet!

I believe they are already testing this out at Cape May. They are SO stingy on the portion sizes there.
Not sure if I agree with this. We went to dinner there 2 weeks ago. They served us the seafood boil and refilled it 3 times with everything we wanted. We also got a whole bowl of clams. They refilled our meat and chicken platter twice and even brought us some extra desserts of the ones we really liked. Soft drink and coffee or tea were also included. While we really miss the buffet, we felt we received a lot of very good food.

It is not for health reasons. They are still selling treats. Small portions. In buffets, that won’t work, and more people will go to them for that. People don’t like others telling them what they should eat and how much. They won’t eat at those restaurants or get desserts.

I noticed smaller portion sizes already. I usually get a kids meal at Regal Eagle. The 2 sides with the meal used to come in a larger holder like this:

Within the last few weeks, they reduced the containers to a small round cup with less of the sides included. I noticed the same cups at Sunshine Seasons for the pasta salad with the kids meals there.
