Disney considers reducing portion sizes to cut costs.

A long time ago, in a Disney World far, far away, one used to be able to order a half-portion meal at the TS locations for half-price plus $1. It was a great option for seniors, smaller eaters, and kids who like real food. Back in the day...

Leebee, that would solve the whole problem. There would be no food waste as with a larger meal. At half plus $l.00 that would pay for the smaller portion. People who eat smaller amounts would be happy. No one would be offended.
But that decision calls for common sense, which seems to be in short supply in the upper management echelons!

I haven't read the entire thread so don't know if this was mentioned.

DH and I would sometimes get the fish & chips from the QS window in the UK at Epcot and split it because it was too much food for us to each have an entire portion. There used to be two good size pieces of fish and a lot of fries and was more than enough to fill us.

The last time we did this (a few months ago), they only provided one piece of fish. We still had enough to eat because we aren't big eaters, but I speculated at the time that they were trying to deter people from sharing by only including a single piece of fish. I didn't realize we were only getting one piece until after I paid and it was served, otherwise I might have ordered two meals which is no doubt what they want to encourage going forward.

It's not anything new, used to be for a few years before Covid you got one piece of fish with chips if you ordered outside, and two if you ordered inside from the bar. However, the two pieces were not as big as the one piece from outside.

I am pretty much done with Disney and have no desire to go back ever. That being said with the hassle of trying to get reservations, needing a phone to order, etc... I would plan a trip during one of the festivals. Amongst F/W, F/G, and the Arts kiosks, it may be quicker and a little cheaper for the time being to plan meals. But then again you would have to balance the cost of a park hopper. However, I would not be surprised if they cut those portions as well. In any event, they should be making up the difference with all the liquor options inside and outside the parks.
