We ran into so many great cast members on our 2 week trip. DD3 usually doesn't open up to strangers, but so many CMs took time to talk to her and she loved talking to them. It was very cute and you could tell that the CMs genuinely wanted to hear what she had to say. It must have happened at least a dozen or more times. I lost track. (But I do think being called a princess by everyone for 2 weeks has gone to her head
). I also don't recall this happening much when DS12 went when he was 3.
One interaction stands out. On our first day, we went to the Magic Kingdom. DD liked most rides, but did not like the Haunted Mansion (a favorite of the rest of the family). Didn't cry, just didn't want to do it again. Fast forward to the evening, when we are waiting in Liberty Square for the MSEP. A CM (Emma?) was doing crowd control duty and struck up a conversation with DD. She just happened to be a Haunted Mansion CM. The conversation went on for about 20 minutes covering all sorts of Disney topics.
At one point we mentioned how DD was afraid on the Haunted Mansion and we pointed out to DD that the CM worked on the Haunted Mansion. The CM talked about how she was scared when she was little, but now loved it. She gave DD a special sticker and explained each of the hitch hiking ghosts.
It's now 10 minutes before the parade so the CM has to get back to work. We thank her and she goes off. As we are preparing to watch the parade, the CM comes back and hands DD a voucher for a free bubble wand, so that DD wouldn't be scared next time she went on Haunted Mansion. It was a magical beginning to our trip and certainly the fist of many interactions with awesome CMs.
Disney CMs are the best!
