If I call and sign up for DC, will I get a membership number right away to use for reservations, or do I have to wait for information to be sent to me?

I did mine by mail. Had a membership # by email within three days of mailing my form and had the card and other materials within a week after that. It was very fast. Based on this, I suspect you get your # by phone when you sign up, but I don't know for sure. Even if you don't, it will be very quick!!
