I originally posted this on the Budget Board but didn't get a response, so I thought I'd give it a shot here. Any info is appreciated.

I am a Disney Club member and want to make reservations for January 2004 at Pop Century (hopefully) through the special DC phone number. My question is, since DC will no longer exist after Dec. 31, 2003, which cancellation policy would be in effect for my reservations? Is there anything strange that anyone else has encountered as a result of the DC ending?

Thanks!

They will not book your trip for any time after December 31, 2003. The club ends at that time and there will be no discounts for any resort. You can call the special number but they will not give you a DC discount.

Oops...re-reading my question I can see that I wasn't completely clear as to what I was asking. I'm not going to try to book a DC rate (it's not usually worth it anyway). I'm planning on using the code for the $55/night rate.

I have just booked through the DC in the past (even without a DC rate) because of the 800# and because of the much more liberal cancellation policy. I wanted to do this again but didn't know if they would still honor the cancellation policy if the reservation was in 2004.

I hope that makes sense.

If you book through CRO you will have the same liberal cancellation policy as the DC. It is when you book through the WDTC that the penalties change. When you call to book ask specifically for CRO. The CM that answers may handle both CRO and WDTC but will give you the booking through CRO. I do it all the time. I too do not think the DC discount is worth it so I never use it for resort discounts.

A-ha! (visualize a lightbulb over the smiley) :)

I never realized that. Now I'm feeling like a big ol' loser  and trying to figure out more than ever why I bought into the whole Disney Club thing. I guess I was just the sucker born that minute!

Thanks for your help! :wave2:

I had the Disney Club specifically for the discounts at the Disney Sore. I must have saved over $1000 this year alone using that discount! I buy a lot from that store and the online one. Way too much really but that card saved me a bundle! It paid for itself over and over again.
