Disney Chix Do Disney on Land & Sea! Updated 8/18/08 LBD's, AP & a Fond Farewell

Gayle! I'm finally all caught up!

I've been a bit behind on my TR reading...not just yours but all my subscriptions.

Your trip sounds wonderful! And your friends are certainly a fun group!

You girls are making me tired with all these long days. Maybe I'm more tired when kids are around? This all-girls trip sounds marvelous.

What about Sci-Fi? Thumbs up or thumbs down? Would you eat there again?

You're so sweet to help clean up the barfy baby.

And you're my hero givin it all you've got up there with the African guys! (I'm toooo shy for that!)

Now you've been all day at AK and you're going to MVMCP?? :scared1:

I can't wait to hear about it!

Great update! You are so sweet, helping out that mother. I'm sure she will always remember your kindness. I'm not gonna lie, I would have run away:lmao: j/k

Am I first?!:cool1:

Another great installment. I am with you on the armless, epcot icon. The original look is much better. :thumbsup2

You are a good lady, helping out the mom with the sick baby!

My 1 yo got sick at our Christmas Eve lunch and the other people in the restaurant acted like I had planned it. Like it was loads of fun for me people...:sad2:

Gayle nice installment. That was so nice of you to help that other mommy. She will remember that forever. I would have helped by giving her more wipes but not actually helping:thumbsup2 good for you

You're so sweet to help that poor mom out!

I believe God puts me in places at specific times for a reason....I was in that store at that time because God knew that Mom would need a helping hand. Mine were available. Thanks for all your kind words.

GO ON WITH YOUR BAD SELF!!!!!!! you go, girl! talk about burning some calories......just do that for 20 minutes every night and you're good to go! :thumbsup2

and i totally agree about the parade seats. we don't have kids and i offered to have a kid come stand in front of me during every parade and during wishes from narcoosee's so they could see better. but when you had in that rude, snotty attitude of "just because i have a kid i should get in front of you".......forget it!!!!

Thanks! I had soooo much fun doing that! I am starting to get back to exercise, so dancing may be in the cards!

That is so awesome! I'm so proud of you! If I shook it like that in public I'd hurt someone!:lmao: As Dawn said........Go on with your bad self!!!!!!

I'm surprised my "love handles" didn't knock anyone over!!!

OH MY GOSH!!!! I'm so sorry that I've been missing out on all the fun!

You guys look like a fun bunch. You should photoshop me into the pics! :wizard:

That video of you dancing is PRICELESS! HA! I NEVER get pulled up for that stuff. Gmax and Dance don't mix too well!

You all looked soooo happy the morning of your trip! Even though I am too, it's more on the inside. Usually it's way to early to tell my face to smile, or even pose for a pic!

I think you did a great job staying up all day. On my arrival day, I usually do nothing.

At POR, I had the same bus stop. I thought the resort was gorgeous, but a bit confusing, and spread out. I just wish that the main bldg was more centrally located. Hope you got some pecan pie, and a flavored soda at the restaurant while there! They were so good!\

I can't believe the lady at the parade! How dare she want you to move! She should've gotten there EARLY!!!!!!

Well, I'll be back to see what's next!

I would love to not have to photoshop you in, but have you there with me! We're heading back in Sept...wanna meet us there???

At POR, I never had the pecan pie or flavored soda. I think we only had 3 meals there the whole time. I agree the resort is spread out, but I liked it. Very peaceful.

OMG! We had almost an identical thing happen at the same parade. I have been to AK lots of times and had never seen this parade so we made sure that we had a great piece of cement and camped out for about 30 minutes before hand. A family with 2 little girls and 2 VERY rude parents came up behind us, just as the parade was about to begin. They took it a few steps futher though, and were making comments to their kids about our size. The dad told them not to get to close to us, because we may "smoosh them". The mom was equally as bad with her comments and eventually they moved. THANK GOD! Again, if they would have asked if they little girls could stand in front of us, we would have glady let them. Some people.:sad2:

On a more positive note, great update.

I think that is going to happen at any parade, whether you have kids with you or not. :confused3 And I would have gladly let the kids in front, if only they had asked nicely! :cutie:

Wow! I wish I was in your group! Glendamax told me about this TR and I love it!!!

I cannot believe the nerve of some people at the parades. :confused3 All I can say is Wow!!

Thanks for reading! I think we need to recruit some DISsers for a "Girl's Only" DIS meet! Whatya think?:wizard:

You coulda used those moves for my challenge!

Loved every bit of it!

Make another challenge and I'm there!!! :thumbsup2

Hey neighbor! I didn't realize you had written a TR until Glenda mentioned it!!! Great so far...can't wait for more!!

(How did you bite your tongue with the rude parade people? I would have had to say something...I hate rude people!!! :headache: )

Glad you came by! How are you feeling these days?? Are you showing yet???

Great report so far, how fun to do a girlie trip, I love your dancing wow you can really move

My Mom use to have me dance to "Simple Simon Says" on the record player at my neighbors parties! (Yes, I am dating myself!) This is all her fault!!!! :rotfl:

Let's see where do I start. The parade lady, I have kids and I would never never say that. I totally agree with you. If you want your kids to be in front then you should be there early. I did experience something similar when we were down there except we were the ones early with our little boys and a couple of older people decided they were going to move in the space right in front of our stroller. Mind you they almost say on my son because there wasn't enough room. I would have done the same thing as you believe me, I said something to that couple but really to my DH who was sitting right next to me. Anyway, love the dancin' moves. Nice shakin mama moto. Love the Buffalo rock too. Tell Judy I love Goofy too. Anyway love your TR can't wait for more.

Laura :flower3:

Laura...why would adults get in front of a stroller??? :sad2: I don't get it! Yeah...Judy looked for Goofy at every park!!!

LOVE the dancing video!! You ROCK!! :)

Thanks! I  to boogie!!!

I feel like a proud Mom . . . (sniff sniff)

That stuff is GREAT!

Glenda, I only had to use the Ben Gay one night, on my calves and it was awesome!!! Thanks for the tip, Mom!!! This is a staple in my travelling kit from now on!

I think I was definitely more tired when I went with my kids. The day at Animal Kingdom wasn't tiring and we were ready to go for MVMCP. Something to be said about NOT doing the parks commando!!!! pirate:

We're heading back in Sept...wanna meet us there???
Yes! Check out my siggie! I just booked 9/6 - 9/13 at AKV. DISers Antss, klofan, and MadiMouse are going that week too!

Thanks for reading! I think we need to recruit some DISsers for a "Girl's Only" DIS meet! Whatya think?:wizard:
Maybe we could get together in September!

Glenda, I only had to use the Ben Gay one night, on my calves and it was awesome!!! Thanks for the tip, Mom!!! This is a staple in my travelling kit from now on!
YAY! I used it every night last September. It felt sooo good on my feet!

Heyyyy, Mama!

I'm all caught up thanks to your peeps shameless plug! ALL for the shameless plug! I don't pay enough attention without em!

I LOVE your dancing! I'm pretty sure I'd experience bladder leakage if I did that. I'd do it with my legs squoze...heheh!

YOu got mooves! Shhesh!

I love those guys. So does TwinkiMama, I hope she sees them!!!

I didn't know you can order off menu at Sci Fi. Thanks for that tid bit. I think I'm always sort of full when I go there too, but I love the old movies and commercials.

SOOOOO pissed about the rude mama at the parade! Did you say anything to her? She deserved a good eye rolling at least. If I'm not there ahead of time for my kids to see, they get shoulder seats or we do the best we can to grab a spot, without being a nuisance to the people that planned ahead.

Great job G!

Definitely showing! Have a little over 10 weeks left!!! :cool1:

Can't wait for the next installment! :goodvibes

Gayle! I'm finally here and catching up! What a great TR so far! (I had no doubt in my mind that it would be!) What a fun group of ladies. :dance3:

I can't wait to read more!!! popcorn::
Take care,
-Michelle

Hey . . . :surfweb: Where Is . . .:surfweb: . . . The rest? :surfweb:

By the time we finished getting Judy’s picture taken with Goofy and caught the bus back to POR, it was after 6 pm. We all needed to change, freshen up and then we were off to MVMCP. Pam found her new Christmas Headband and put it on and was ready to go!
IMG004.jpg

This sounds a lot quicker than it actually was. By the time we caught the bus to MK, we didn’t arrive there until about 8:30! Yes, I did say 8:30! We had a few pics taken out front, then headed in!
IMG_2455.jpg

As any of you know who have ever been to MVMCP, this is around the time for the first parade, so Main St was MOBBED!!!!
We tried to see what was around, so headed down Main St as best as possible and stopped near Crystal Palace to try to decide what we were doing. We asked a CM named Stockton for some information and he was wonderful! Of course we got talking with him and told him we just started our vacation and were headed to the cruise as well. He wished us a good vacation and we started to walk away when we asked him something else. At this point he asked us if we were going to the 10:30 parade, which we said we were and he asked if we wanted to be his guests in the VIP seating! Well, that was a no brainer…YEAH!! He told us where to go by 10:15, give them our names and tell them we were his guests! WOOHOO! Pixie Dust!!! After leaving him, I suggested going on a few of the rides while the parade was going on, as I heard this was a good thing to do since we were headed to the late parade, but no one wanted to go on rides. I was disappointed (and may have huffed a little), but we finally decided to go to Tomorrowland and try to see the Mickey Night Before Christmas Show. We rushed as best as we could, considering the parade had just ended, but by the time we got there the show had started and they wouldn’t let us in. OK..now what?!? We decided we would wander around and see what was there. We found a dance party at Cosmic Rays and stopped in briefly, as Santa Goofy and his little helpers were there!

We picked up some hot cocoa and cookies and wandered out. We went into Fantasyland and suddenly the sky lit up with fireworks! Now I know the best place to see them is in front of the castle, but this was definitely a unique perspective. There were fireworks from the castle itself and then from the area in the back. We were surrounded by fireworks! At this time, there were also all kinds of characters out, so we were watching the kids with them, which was very entertaining!

Around 10:10 we headed over to the area for the VIP seating, which was just over the bridge from Liberty Square. The view was great, there where no rude parents pushing kids into or in front of us and it was limited seating. It was fabulous! We thoroughly enjoyed the parade and had a little extra attention from characters and parade participants because of where we were sitting. The one downfall was the lack of lighting in this particular place prohibited good pictures. We did the best we could and here are a few for your viewing pleasure!

(Doesn't she look like a giant snow ball?!?)

Once the parade was over, and the CM’s were bringing up the rear with the rope, Stockton came over to us and asked if we enjoyed the parade. Of course we said yes and thanked him again for the great seats. He then handed Judy a bag and said we would need these for the second night of our cruise. When she opened the bag, here is what we found….
IMG_2516.jpg

Again we thanked him for helping make our first day at Disney memorable and he went on his way.
To my dismay, everyone wanted to leave after the parade and we proceeded with the herd through the exit. At this point I should have said I wanted to stay longer and done just that until midnight so I could be one of the last ones to leave, but I didn’t. I do regret not speaking up and this does become a theme throughout the week. I was so afraid of being bossy and pushy, that I really didn’t speak up when I wanted to. Live and Learn!
We hopped the bus back to POR and turned in for the night. Tomorrow was Epcot Day!!!!!

OK...I posted an update, with pics, and the main page says it's there, but it's NOT!!! :scared1: Where the heck did it go?!?

EDIT: YUP! It showed up after awhile! So Weird!!!

i see by your title that you've updated, but when i come to your thread i can't see your post. the DIS did this to me the other day with some other threads. after i posted, i could see the posts i was missing before, so i'm trying that now!

ETA: yep, now i can see it. VERY STRANGE! okay...now i gotta go back and ready your latest installment! :)

Well I see it! :goodvibes and loved it! What an awesome experience! Thanks for sharing that made me smile!

Gayle - Yeah you guys got some :wizard: That was cool that you got special seating and those pirate mickey ears for your cruise. I can't wait for Epcot.

You really scored on those seats!
It's too bad no one else wanted to ride rides or stay later.

Stockton ROCKS! What a great guy! No strings attached either huh?

Sorry you didn't speak up too...not easy with friends. Speaking up with FAMILY is no problemo. :confused3

Hi,
I just found your trippie and am really enjoying it! I'm glad you didn't move for the snotty mom. My boys are teens now but we still arrive EARLY for parades. We have stayed at POR several times and loved it.

Can't wait for the cruise portion :thumbsup2
