By the time we finished getting Judys picture taken with Goofy and caught the bus back to POR, it was after 6 pm. We all needed to change, freshen up and then we were off to
MVMCP. Pam found her new Christmas Headband and put it on and was ready to go!
This sounds a lot quicker than it actually was. By the time we caught the bus to MK, we didnt arrive there until about 8:30! Yes, I did say 8:30! We had a few pics taken out front, then headed in!
As any of you know who have ever been to MVMCP, this is around the time for the first parade, so Main St was MOBBED!!!!
We tried to see what was around, so headed down Main St as best as possible and stopped near Crystal Palace to try to decide what we were doing. We asked a CM named Stockton for some information and he was wonderful! Of course we got talking with him and told him we just started our vacation and were headed to the cruise as well. He wished us a good vacation and we started to walk away when we asked him something else. At this point he asked us if we were going to the 10:30 parade, which we said we were and he asked if we wanted to be his guests in the VIP seating! Well, that was a no brainer
YEAH!! He told us where to go by 10:15, give them our names and tell them we were his guests! WOOHOO! Pixie Dust!!! After leaving him, I suggested going on a few of the rides while the parade was going on, as I heard this was a good thing to do since we were headed to the late parade, but no one wanted to go on rides. I was disappointed (and may have huffed a little), but we finally decided to go to Tomorrowland and try to see the Mickey Night Before Christmas Show. We rushed as best as we could, considering the parade had just ended, but by the time we got there the show had started and they wouldnt let us in. OK..now what?!? We decided we would wander around and see what was there. We found a dance party at Cosmic Rays and stopped in briefly, as Santa Goofy and his little helpers were there!
We picked up some hot cocoa and cookies and wandered out. We went into Fantasyland and suddenly the sky lit up with fireworks! Now I know the best place to see them is in front of the castle, but this was definitely a unique perspective. There were fireworks from the castle itself and then from the area in the back. We were surrounded by fireworks! At this time, there were also all kinds of characters out, so we were watching the kids with them, which was very entertaining!
Around 10:10 we headed over to the area for the VIP seating, which was just over the bridge from Liberty Square. The view was great, there where no rude parents pushing kids into or in front of us and it was limited seating. It was fabulous! We thoroughly enjoyed the parade and had a little extra attention from characters and parade participants because of where we were sitting. The one downfall was the lack of lighting in this particular place prohibited good pictures. We did the best we could and here are a few for your viewing pleasure!
(Doesn't she look like a giant snow ball?!?)
Once the parade was over, and the CMs were bringing up the rear with the rope, Stockton came over to us and asked if we enjoyed the parade. Of course we said yes and thanked him again for the great seats. He then handed Judy a bag and said we would need these for the second night of our cruise. When she opened the bag, here is what we found
.
Again we thanked him for helping make our first day at Disney memorable and he went on his way.
To my dismay, everyone wanted to leave after the parade and we proceeded with the herd through the exit. At this point I should have said I wanted to stay longer and done just that until midnight so I could be one of the last ones to leave, but I didnt. I do regret not speaking up and this does become a theme throughout the week. I was so afraid of being bossy and pushy, that I really didnt speak up when I wanted to. Live and Learn!
We hopped the bus back to POR and turned in for the night. Tomorrow was Epcot Day!!!!!
