Is it possible to put a disney vacation on my disney chase and still recieve the 0% interest for 6 months if I also put my monthly bills on there as well? Just to note I always pay the pre vious months balance if full if that makes a difference.

Yes, when you pay for your vacation it will trigger the special interest promo for that purchase only. On your bill you will see where it has your current month purchases with the interest rate for those listed and then it will show our vacation with the promo interest of zero and the date that the promo expires ( or at least that is how my bill showed it the last time) I did have an issue in the past when I tried to pay off the balance that had interest. They applied the payment toward the amount that has the zero interest and charged me interest on the amount that I was trying to pay off, but since the changes in laws regarding creditors I have not had that happen again.

Also keep in mind you need to book as a package or a Disney cruise to qualify for the 0%. Tickets, room-only res, and items charged to your room account don't qualify.

Yes. I pay my entire month's charges, plus a little to apply to the 0% balance. I just make sure I watch the expiration date of the 0% balance and make sure that month's payment includes the whole balance.

So Chase used to screw people over with this promo? Well its good to know they dont do that anymore. How many cruises can I get like this with the promo? Can I book for others with my card and still get it?

Not just Chase. All cc banks did.
It doesn't recognize who a cruise is booked for; it only knows if it's a qualifying purchase or not. Also it has to be $101 or more so a payment of $99 won't qualify. Each payment has its own exp date.

Oh I didnt know that. So this would be a way for me to help a family member pay of thier criise for thier final payment date even though they wouldnt have the money for about 3 months later. What did you mean exactly about the 99 or 101 payment?

I forgot one time that in order to qualify for 0%, the amount charged at any given time must be at least $101. I was rebooking a dummy date while onboard and only put myself on the reservation to keep the deposit amount low. I think it was around $92 and that particular charge did not qualify for 0%.

Here's some other tips I've learned when it comes to the 0% deal and DCL.

1. If we're going to use Disney transfers, I don't add them onto the reservation until around 1 month prior to cruising. Why put them on early and then you have to pay for them also if you want to be able to log online early to book Palo, excursions, etc? So I make my final payment with no transfers, then book my online activities at 120 days prior (or 90 or whatever yours is). Then I add the transfers on as a separate transaction. For us that's $280. So if I end up doing this 3 months after I have paid in full, the transfer amount will have a later expiration date for the 6 months. I hope I'm making sense.

2. Anything charged during the cruise to your onboard account does not qualify for 0% but if you prepay, then it will. So also last minute we prepay gratuities and any excursions we know for sure we'll be doing.
So let's say for a 7 nt cruise our gratuities are always $336. Then we opt to do an excursion that is $150 pp x 4 = $600.
So our statement will list, as separate promotional transactions, each charge with it's own expiration date. Like this:

DCL $5000 5-1-14 Expires 11-1-14 (cruise fare)
DCL $280 8-1-14 Expires 2-1-15 (transfers)
DCL $600 9-1-14 Expires 3-1-15 (excursion)

I hope I'm not rambling but it sure makes it easier to pay for things like this and it extends the 6 months out as long as possible.
Your TA or DCL CM can help if you want to prepay anything. To prepay excursions you just buy yourself an onboard credit.

hth.

Also, if you make a smaller payment, such as when I paid the $92 deposit, it will just be listed like a regular charge, as if you simply went shopping, bought gas, or whatever. If it's less than $101, even if it's DCL, it won't be listed separately with other promotional charge transactions.

So thanks for all the info. Was just wanting to make sure I could pay off the final balance on 2-3 cruises in December of this year and then when taxes are refunded I would get paid back for them sometime in Feburary 2015 and I can pay off the balances then on the card without being charged one penny in interest during that time period. Plu I can earn rewards on them!
