Last year I purchased 2 charms and a charm holder-pin for my mil. I think the pin has "Nana" on it and it is silver or puter in color. I CANNOT remember where I purchased them. Do they have them through-out the world? This is the 2nd time we are leaving mil home and she does not like it so, I want to add to her pin as a gift. (8/14-8/23)
Thank for any info

I saw the charmholder you are talking about at Mousegears in Epcot. I'm sure any of the big stores like World of Disney in DTD or Main Street Emporium in MK also sell them.

I also saw charms for sale at the Boardwalk general store. We bought my nieces initial charms.

Do they also sell the new charm bracelets, (not dangling charms) at wdw??
If so where???

kcatoir...do you want the cheaper version ($3, made of silver maybe? not sure) or the more expensive version ($30, made of stainless steel, the kind sold in malls, etc)? They sell both. I'm starting my bracelet this trip!

Would prefer one that will last.
Where do I find them?
Are the cheap in the same place as the better ones?
How much are the charms???
Are there cheap and expensive charms, or is that only the braclets??

Thanks for the help

Are you talking about the stretchy (watch band like) nomination bracelets? If so, my DD just got one for her birthday this month, and I too am interested where we can find links!

Yes, stretchy watchband type,
If anyone knows the "official" name for these please advise.

Thanks

They are called Italian charm bracelets. There are several manufacturers, and lots of knock-offs. Diana

Diana,
How do you verify that what you are getting is a "good one"?
Other than the cost that is.....do you just find out if its made of stainless steel?
I've heard of stainless steel bracelets for less than $10 minus cost to add additional links.

Still wondering on the cost of charms at wdw if anyone knows.
Thinking about buying bracelet at our local mall and adding charms at wdw.

Thanks

The cost of the initial base bracelet is not very expensive ($6-10). Zoppini (sp?), Nomination and Disney all make a good base bracelet. Just look for the company name/stainless steel stamped on the back.

The costs really start to add up as you purchase the individual charm links. The Disney ones can be anywhere from $28 to maybe around $38 or more for the double ones (ie kissing mickey/minnie).

There are many web site that have free shipping. I like ducksanddolls.com, they were very helpful (especially when I made a mistake in my order and had to e-mail a correction.)

My husband thinks I'm crazy...more Disney stuff to collect. First pins, now charms:D

With the Italian Charm bracelets I wanted to add that you can easily tell the quality by the cost and location of the charms that you find. If they are on a rack not locked up, then they are the cheaper ones. Those are fine for kids or if you aren't sure if you want to put a lot of money in them or not. The good ones are reputable names (nomination, zoppini, boxing...) and they are behind glass cases. I found them in MGM, MK & Epcot in the respecitive shops where they sell the "fine jewelry" as well as Italy & DtD. Not sure if AK has them or not, but I didn't look too hard there. They started at $26 if I remember right, the doubles were over $50 (which makes sense) and I think ones that dangle are about $40. Crystals make them more expensive and they are about $36 or so.

www.italiancharms.com is another good site that explains a ton about them and if you do a www.google.com search for Italian Charms you'll find a ton of places.

tkme4ard, I am not sure about those... I haven't seen bracelets like that for a while around here so I don't even look. I am sure they still sell charms places that would fit on them but not entirely sure.

If you are thinking of being a "serious" collector of Italian charms then go for the more expensive set. My DD is 8 so I gave her the cheaper set. That way if she loses it, I won't get too upset. Once she has proven herself responsible, I'll upgrade her! Also, Ebay has a GIGANTIC selection of the real and knock off charms. I've bought several with no problems. Just make sure it says soldered not glued.

As for teh person who was asking about old fashioned charmbracelets, they still sell those kinds of charms there too. I usually buy one slerling silver one per trip (but I wear them on a chain, and not on mybracelet). They have gold and silver - probably sell the plain bracelet too, but I would buy my base bracelet from a jeweler or someplace like that. bigger selection, I would guess (coming from a lady with a very small wrist).

The base bracelets are completely adjustable. All you have to do is take out as many links as you need. It's very easy to do (especially if you have nails). DD has small wrist also and everytime I add a charm, I have to take out a plain link.
