My DD is 4...going on 16. For example, on our vacation over Spring Break (at Disney) it was time to leave the playground to get showered and ready for dinner and in the most dramatic way she told me that I was "ruining her life". Where do they get this stuff?! :scared1:

At the same time, she believes in the Easter Bunny, and Santa (she asked DH to build us a chimney before christmas, but we settled on just leaving the door unlocked), and loves to visit with and hug on certain characters at Disney (especially Chip & Dale and Stitch). She thinks the princesses really live in the castle. We haven't even made it to the tooth fairy yet, but there's no doubt she will believe in that too. Or does she?

Do you ever think little ones around this age just pretend they believe. Or they believe for us, the parents? I personally don't remember REALLY believing in these thinsg myself...but it was fun to go along with believing...still is even in adulthood. Where do your kids stand?

I have a 13 month old dd, a 3 ½ yo ds & an almost 6 yo dd.

Last Saturday the 6 yo did not want to be in the picture with the Easter bunny at the hunt we went to yet the next am she was beyond thrilled with her loot she received.

She told my dh she was embarrased, oy-e-vay (sp), already.

But she does still believe as does my ds & my youngest, well she doesn't have a clue yet.

I asked my mom this question about my sister, she's nine.

My mom went nuts on her Easter basket this year. This thing was HUGE. However, I got Juliette a small bucket with a bit of candy, and a Princess Cinderella tea set. Jordyn told me that the easter bunny must not have liked Julie that much ... :rotfl2:

My two year old truely believes, really really really believes, that Cinderella lives in the castle, but of course I told her that. I think it's an age thing. When your four year old is a bit older, she'll realize that some things are pretend and some things are really real.

Of course, we're betting if Jordyn will believe in Santa this year. She'll be ten in January ... hahahaha ...

DD8 began questioning Santa and the Easter bunny a few years ago, mostly because some of her friends (whose parents don't believe) told her that they weren't real. Each year she's found evidence to support her belief that they really do exist, and she feels sorry for her friends that don't have that extra magic around the holidays. I don't know how much longer she'll believe, but I'm hoping we have a few more years to go.

She informed us before our Disney trip last year that the characters are just ordinary people dressed in costumes. However, seeing her reaction to Mickey Mouse and watching her interactions with them throughout our stay showed us that the magic is still very much alive.

DS3 doesn't have a clue. :)

We were watching our Disney video the other day and my DS4 told me that the characters were just people dressed up.:scared1: I have no clue what he is talking about.:confused3
