Anybody been to Epcot recently and noticed if they brought the Holiday bus back yet? Hoping they do before our visit in March.

From what I've read, I don't think it's coming back. There is a new character greeting area (I forgot the name) located in the old Pasta Piazza Restaurant.

It has been indefinatly pulled from EPCOT, and EPCOT is now putting many of the VIP characters in the Character Connection in Innoventions (in the Breezeway near Club Cool/ former Ice Station Cool). From what I've heard, they are scheduled to be there at least through the Spring. At that time, they may bring back the bus if the Character Connection is unpopular, or begin to make the Connection more permanent (ie- add photo backdrops, more permanant signage, etc.) More than likely, theu will stick with the Connection.

From what I've seen over the years, EPCOt tends to have a character bus for a 3 - 5 years, then switch to standard meet-and-greet locations, and 3 - 5 years later will switch back to he bus. Don't know why, but this usually seems to be the case. :confused3

Sad but true. No more double decker bus with characters in WS. We went to the new Character Connection in FW...near Innoventions and the Electric Umbrella. Pretty empty when we went. My niece had characters to herself for few minutes. Roll call of Characters were Mickey, Goofy, Donald, Chip & Dale, Pinocchio and pal Gideon. I will miss the sponteity of characters coming off bus and dancing with kids.

One of the Photopass photographers last week told me that the Character Connection is permanent. He said that it is climate controlled, so it is more comfortable for the characters, and the characters would not come out in the rain with the bus. It all sounds very logical and reasonable, but I will miss the bus just the same.

That's a bummer! My girls loved the Characters on Holiday.. so much fun to see them riding in and waving from the bus! Very cool.. oh well!

I too miss the bus.
We went to the new location in November and it was boring. Same characters you always see in the parks, Mickey, Donald, mary poppins, chip and dale, Goofy. The bus always had so many characters and several were always bound to be an unusual one or one you had not seen in so long that it was exciting for the adults as well as the kids. Plus the excitement of waiting and watching for it was always great for my little one. I understand the reasoning but I find it sad that it is gone.
:sad1:

:sad2: That was our favorite Character stop. So sad to hear this.....it was great to see the characters all having fun with the music, etc. from the bus. :sad2:

We were there Thanksgiving week and Character Connection was open. We asked a CM about the change and she said it was a "safety issue". Apparently the number of people "chasing the bus" and trying to get ON THE BUS was getting out of hand. It only takes a few to ruin a great thing for everyone!!
