disney characters in animation building ??

ok thanks for all the replies :) i just have to more questions

does the sheriff of nottingham still meet there ?
i know he was popular at one time but is he there still ?

is there a huge difference with characters on fantasmic nights and non fantasmic nights ?

thanks :):cloud9::yay::cool1::goodvibes:thumbsup2:);)

Someone said recently here on the DIS that they don't allow you to enter that way anymore. Have you been recently and were able to do so? We've done the show a couple of times, but we love to head in through there for characters and the class. This would be good news!

If you go around 5:00, they have separate walkways with signs that say something like "this way to the animation tour" or "this way to the character greetings" so they are prepared for you to just go see the characters.

We saw him and Friar Tuck in the fall.

We were there the 1st week of December. Aside from the regulars, Jafar and the Snow Queen were trading off. Hook and Smee, Chip and Dale, and Ratliffe and Meeko were all there. We didn't stay for the trade off, so I don't know who else might have come out. I just know that as we were getting ready to take DD's picture with Jafar, the CM was telling the line not to count on Jafar because in a few minutes the Snow Queen would be taking his place.

Sheriff used to make appearances, but that stopped around Oct. 4th. It doesn't mean he won't come back, just not regularly.

This is copied from my site:

Take note of any Fantasmic! showings that evening. If there is a 6:30 show than the random characters will not appear. If there is no show then there is the possibility that the characters will stay out for more than an hour.

is there like some characters that come out and then leave and then another big group of characters that come out ?

also i keep on forgetting to ask this. are the lines really long or average ?
will i be able to meet all the characters in that group if i wanted to ?

One big group comes out. They set up lines throughout the room. Lines are fairly quick moving and not real long. It's not like when they are out in the park where people see them and come running. You have to know to expect them there and be there. So that limits the numbers.

After 20 to 30 minutes, those characters go back in and another group comes out. They day we were there was NOT a Fantasmic day, and after about 30 more minutes, the second group went back in and the first group came out again.

It was awesome!

i've decided to go on a non fantasmic day just to have a better chance of meeting characters :) thanks for all tyhe replies, they all helped a lot:)

im going to report to this thread once i get back which is march 21st
happy hunting:yay:

I don't blame you. That's what we did on our last trip and were very happy with it. Now I'm faced with that same decision again for our December trip. I've only seen Fantasmic once, so I'm really tempted to go back to a Fantasmic day again.... Oh the decisions in life....

Same boat here. I'd love to see Fantasmic! again, but I don't want to face the possible crowds. I might schedule two days at MGM.

Maybe we'll run into you this time. I can't believe we never saw you last time, especially hitting the same MNSSHPs!! When are you going? We'll be there the first week of December.

I'm thinking along the same lines. We don't normally buy hoppers, but might have to this time just so we can go in one night for Fantasmic.

The other consideration is viewing the Osborne lights. When we were there in December 08, we passed on Fantasmic so we could see the Osborne lights without being crushed in like sardines. We wandered in with no lines, and with room to move, even set up my tripod for a few shots.

As we exited, the crowds from the Fantasmic were lining up for the Osborne lights. I was shocked at just how far back that line went. Not something I really want to do....

We're thinking of the 3rd week of December. That's the week we were there in 08. No Pop Warner. No Parade taping. No Christmas crowds yet. It was great!

But we're not committed to that yet. It depends on if my husband and one of my sons comes along. It would be fun to run into you! I had a ball chatting with fellow Dis'ers on our trip last fall!

I was dying to see your costumes in action!! :rotfl:

We went the first week of December in '08. We saw the Osborne Lights, and it was really sparse. It was actually really sparse the entire week. If it wasn't for the DIS, I wouldn't have even known PW was happening. We were in the parade taping audience, and it was lots of fun!! The free admissions didn't hurt, either. ;)

We may have to start hitting the first week of November to see Halloween and Christmas since I can't pick which I liked better. :goodvibes

As you know, it was insanely hot that week. So when we dug the costumes out, they didn't stay on long. But you would have surely recognized me by the big bag I carried around with the Mary Poppins Parrot Head umbrella sticking out!! That heat is why we're back at December again. It's a shame though. MNSSHP was awesome!

I didn't think it was too bad, but we're from Oklahoma, so it was old hat to us. We had a REALLY great time at our first MNSSHP, so we had to go again. It was so fun!!

Well, I'm from Missouri, so I'm used to it too. But I'm a complete weenie when it comes to the heat. I worried all year about how hot it would be that week. But I really wanted to spend my daughter's birthday with her in the Magic Kingdom, and do MNSSHP. Lucky me.... they set record highs in FL that week!

Regardless, we DID have a lot of fun, and there was much magic to be had.... but we're going back to December now.... :goodvibes

I've considered this, and still am. I'm just a cheapskate at heart.....

I have never had a desire to hop. I never leave the parks mid-day, and it's just too much hassle to hop. But maybe just this one time.... I have to decide whether it's worth over $100 for my daughter and me to see Fantasmic......

it works out a lot nicer to see all the shows. fantasmic will be easier to plan with the park hopper. i would get it :)

Well.... we're good on all the rest of the shows. This is the only one I would hop for. So we're still back to "Is it worth $100+"..... I guess only I can decide that.....

It also just occurred to me that I thought we'd do the Fantasmic dinner package that day to minimize our wait. So we'd be back to investing more than just that second evening...
