Disney Characters excluded from Disney World

no this isn't a thread about Marvel.

Whilst reading various articles and blogs on WDW i have found references to a policy/agreement that certain M&G characters should be exclusive to different resorts. Rather than WDW having everyone due to it's size, the various Disneylands all have a couple of characters that no other park are allowed to use.

Can anyone confirm if this is true ir not, and if it is which characters are exclusive?

I know Tokyo has a few exclusives (Shellie May and I think there is also a cat) and I know Epcot had a Figment walk around in the 90's/00's

Aside from that I just know no marvel aside from the GotG face characters that appeared at a hard ticket & industry events

Oswald meets at DCA and TDL.

BH6 characters (see my avatar) were commissioned for DLP for a private event and have not appeared elsewhere.

Because universal has rights to marvel from before disney owned it so marvel isnt allowed at any other park east of the mississippi

We can have Big Hero Six (Epcot has Baymax & back when the meet was in DHS Hiro also joined) as well as Guardians ( Starlord and Gamora FCs have been featured at hard ticket and industry events in the past)

I want to say I remember reading/hearing the same thing. Does WDW get a jack and Sally? I know only WDW has that orange chicken guy on stuff and figment. Also all the mickeys have different costumes at the different parks. I've never seen Marie in California either but i did at WDW.

Jack and Sally at MNSSHP aside from the first year they came out east when they met at Downtown Disney for a few weekends leading up to Frankenweenie's release at the amc there

Well baymax isnt marvel and for some reason GoTG are allowed im not sure what the loophole in that one is lol

Baymax is most certainly Marvel. Big Hero 6 is a comic series. There are substantial differences between the movie and the comic but it still is a Marvel IP. It is not a loophole, just Universal doesn't have complete access to the entire line-up of Marvel characters.

Zootopia's Nick and Judy has M&Gs at DL, while they can only be seen in a parade at WDW.

And for the last couple of years, Jack has appeared as Sandy Claws at MVMCP without Sally.
