Disney Channel Introduces Network's First Same-Sex Couple Ever

Yuk. There's another show we can't watch. ...well - we didn't watch it anyway.

I'm all for the government treating people equally under the law. (Seriously!) But I will not promote, or allow others to promote, homosexuality as a healthy or moral to my children.

Maybe you know gay people, but don't even know it.
Sorry your kids will miss the chance to learn that love doesn't discriminate. How will you ever screen all the cast members to make sure none of them are gay?

Max your point is well taken. However if it was advertised, as I parent I believe the proper thing to do would be to sit and watch it and if its not what you want your kids to see, then change the channel!

I am not trying to be a snarky guy, just logistical.(I hope I am anyway)

AKK

AKK

That's exactly what I am saying. But if it wasn't advertised and then happened and a kid starts asking a bunch of questions that a parent isn't prepared to answer right at that time, then that isn't fair either (you can say they should be prepared but not everyone is)

Agreed Max!

Seeing gay people on television isn't going to turn a child gay any more than seeing an NBA game making them tall.

Thanks for that analogy. Not sure why parents want to leave their kids in the dark ages. If kids ask questions hopefully the answer is as simple as "because they love each other just like mommies and daddies do"

I'm 59 and I remember my parents were horrified when a gay couple bought a house on our street. I was told to stay away from "the boys". We never discussed why, I learned from friends. My father passed away and my mother continued to hate.

She hated until my friend Lou. He is a travel buddy of mine and a physician. He managed to get me home from a trip when I had developed a terrible case of pancreatitis. He stayed with her a few days till I was stable in the hospital.

She finally realized what a good person he is.

She struggled with the conflict but eventually became exceptionally enlightened. It took some talking about it for sure.

Wouldn't it be amazing if a child here or there, with the help of this programming, could lead a parent or two to someplace better. How great would that be!
