Disney Channel Games 2008???

My daughter would just about freak out if there were hsm sightings.

I hope so.

She wants Jonas Brothers, Miley, and HSM the most.

Yes,it appears HSM may the one BIG missing piece of DCG 2008-BUT I AM JUST SPECULATING!I would think Lucas would know less than two weeks out if he was coming or not. Also I think one or more of them woild be in the DCG Concert and their names have not even been rumored for the Concert.I just think HSM3 filming may preclude their participation.I HOPE I AM WRONG!Everyone was there last year except Vanessa Hudgins and Zac Efron.

I've been to Disney more times than I can count, but since I live only 100 miles away, it's never a "big" Disney experience. The nicest Disney hotel I've stayed at is Shades of Green, when travelling with my late father (he was retired military). Other than that, I've either camped at Fort Wilderness, stayed at one of the value hotels or off-property. I've been *in* most of the hotels, either just to gawk, or for a character breakfast (Contemporary and Polynesian) and a character dinner at the Grand Floridian...

So, here's my question: rumor has it that the stars stayed at AKL last year. Why? Is it a higher level hotel than the Grand Floridian? I always thought the GF was the most exclusive, followed by the other Magic Kingdom hotels. Is AKL nicer?

I go every month to two months. I usually stay at pop on my small trips but port orleans french quarter for my long stays. it is smaller then the other moderate resorts. Funny all are in deluxe class but yes grand floridian is most cost wise.

I LOVE your positive attitude!It just seems like one of them would be in the DCG Concert,but I have not seen ANY rumors AT ALL about that.We can still hope!

No,AKL is not "more" deluxe than Grand Floridian.The Grand Floridian is the top Resort at WDW followed by The Yacht Club.AKL and Wilderness Lodge are the two "least deluxe" deluxe resorts. I don't think all of the DCG Stars stayed at AKL last year,but I could be wrong.I only saw the HM bunch,the SLOZAC bunch and a lot of the International Stars.My GUESSES as to why they stayed there is because it is a fun resort for that age group with the animals and everything;it is the most "isolated" deluxe resort accessible only by bus and "away" from everything thereby giving the most privacy possible; and I also think it is the closest Deluxe resort to Wide World of Sports.

I never realized the Yacht Club is a deluxe resort.

I love the lobby of the Wilderness Lodge at Christmas time - that fireplace is so amazing.

I've never been to the AKL - I'll have to pop in there next time I'm over to see it. I'm not a huge fan of AK. My first visit there was when my younger DD was 2 months old. It was August. It was HOT. It was miserable. And, first impressions are hard to shake off. I've been back since, and enjoyed myself, but it's still not my favorite park.

I have been seeing your posts and wanted to help,but I had stadium seats last year and the taping for last year's DCG Concert started at 3:00 and I didn't get there until later so I don't know what time the first "field-standers" arrived.I just wanted to post and let you know I would have helped if I could! Are you going to any of the daily tapings?

I hope to go to some tapings... but I live an hour away and I have college final exams on monday and tuesday, but my brother lives in Orlando so I think ill be staying with him friday saturday and sunday... so hopefully they will do some taping then so I can GO!!!!!

Wow!That is great you have a place to stay in Orlando.Disney still has Friday listed as a "to be determined day" so hopefully "something" will take place then.

This is no big deal-I am just curious.Do you think this thread would "fit" better on the Theme Park Community Board?There are 2 threads about the 2008 Disney Channel Games that have not been active for a while there already,so I was just wondering why this one is on the "generic" Community Board.I know WWoS is not a Theme Park,but it is a part of WDW,so it seems like this discussion should be on a WDW-related board and not a "catch-all" board.Again no big deal-just curious.Also I think more people would "find" it there and be able to get information.What do you think?

I've been lurking on this thread for about a week now - thanks everyone for all of the information. We will be in Disney Apr 25-30, so DH is planning on taking DD11 and DD10 to a taping on either Mon or Tues. Does anyone have a recommendation as to which day they would see more stars? Do you think since Monday is the first day that there would be more down time with them getting things set up and working the kinks out, etc.? Also, what time should they get there and since we won't have a car, will they be able to get there using Disney transportation? Thanks for any info. I'll continue to follow this thread - you guys are great!

When you send these emails to people like Lucas, are you sending them thru myspace? I'm just wondering because I've sent a couple, but haven't heard anything back yet. I'm on a mission to find out if any of the HSM is coming. I think all we need is for one of them to confirm, and then I will feel better. Let me know.

If TSL is right, then the next couple of days will be slow for information, if they are really planning on releasing some info on Friday/Saturday. Boy, that sure seems like a long time away!!

When the Jonas Brothers were at universal girls got there at 5am to wait to see them at 3pm. There was alot there at that time too!
