Disney Channel Games 2008???

Let me figure this thing out.

I do not know how many field tickets were given out, but I'll guess about 500 because only so many people can fit on the grass.

If the stadium seats are assigned, then that eliminates about 9000 swarming fans already for arriving way early.

Hmmm. It seems that a lot of field seats were given out though. :/ I hope not. I got six field seats, but I already posted a couple times earlier saying I did (I'm not three people who all got six field seats!).

Just an FYI, called Radio Disney and they said that "Fan Day" will be at Hollywood Studios (originally MGM Studios) on April 30th from 10-1, park admission is needed to attend. Also, if you have Field tickets, it will be standing for the entire even and a first come first serve type thing for positioning. The stadium seats are apparently assigned when tix are picked up so swarming the stadium may not be necessary LOL. ALSO, they said that the concert actually STARTS at 8 pm and the gates open at 7. OH MY!FAN DAY AT DHS INSTEAD OF WWOS WILL BE A MOB SCENE!LOL You will have a MUCH better chance of getting autographs at the daily tapings. I think it is great that they are having a Fan Day this year(they didn't have one last year) and I think it will be fun and exciting and I will DEFINITELY attend,but OH MY!Not only will a lot of us be going,but I would think a lot of locals who are not taking their kids out of school for the daily tapings WILL take them out of school for Fan Day(a lot of them have Florida Seasonal Passes),plus the THOUSANDS of tourists who know NOTHING about the DCG and just happen to be at DHS that day-a lot of them will attend-OH MY!I am planning on "hanging out" a lot at DHS anyway hoping to get into a Soft Opening for Toy Story Mania,so I will DEFINITELY be there,but OH MY!

Okay, here is my question, we are planning to go to the games since no concert tix available :-( any more. Since the games start on Monday and end of Friday, any suggestions on the best day to go for a better chance at autographs? My hubby says Monday, first day, hmmmm, not sure. Soooo for all of you out there that have done this before, can you advise how it looked last year? My daughter has her "sign me" book ready and I just want to help her get one, two, or more signatures. Thanks!

LAST YEAR all of the days were about the same for autograph opportunites. The keys to success were patience and persistence. I am still not sure the DCG will ACTUALLY begin taping on Monday.THIS IS JUST PURE SPECULATION ON MY PART! LAST YEAR they filmed 3 days and had the concert on day 4.If they do start on Monday that would make the DCG last 6 days.I do not know what they would need 2 extra days for.I would wait until the actual schedule is released before getting your "Game Plan" together.There is one recent development-a poster has announced that there will be a DCG Fan Day on April 30 at DHS from 10-1,so that could account for one of the "extra days".Also when Disneychannelgames.com first went "up" it had the DCG listed as April 29-May 3.

So is fanday for just certain stars, or will they all be there? Because if there are going to be some taping during this time, I am definitely going to take advantage of the lack of people. I can't afford a ticket to hollywood studios, so I am hoping the WWoS will be bare of fans, but have maybe a few stray stars? Maybe? Please? lol.

while they are filming. I know the Tampa Bay Bucs take over the Celebration Hotel while they are in training camp at Wide World of Sports. It seems like it would make sense for the DC stars to do the same - they would probably have more privacy. Or do they stay at the Grand Floridian? Just wondering...

Well,I will tell you my experience from LAST YEAR-I HAVE NO IDEA ABOUT THIS YEAR-but you have to promise to keep it a secret. Let's just keep it between you and me.LOL Let me just say if someone was a DCG fan and they stayed at AKL last year,they saw A LOT of DCG Stars.It was really neat.They were very nice,well MOST of them were,and for the most part,I think their fellow AKL Guests tried to remember they were not "working" when they were at AKL and tried to give them their "space".There was one very popular DCG Star who was one of the ones who stayed there last year,but I am not comfortable giving you her name,but her initials are MC-or HM!LOL Again let's just keep this information private between us.LOL

I have to go either Saturday or Sunday, so I could just go over on Saturday morning instead. We'll see...

And, I'd love to be on the field but I'm just to be there at all! LOL

My GUESS is that the tickets will be printed and in your envelope when you go to the ticket window.That is how it was when I picked up my Passholder DCG Concert tickets last year-they had already been printed,but there was a Passholder Tent last year where we picked up the tickets,so I really have no idea if they will already be printed this year.I would think logisticaly it would be much easier to print all the tickets and put them into the envelopes at one time rather than print them each time someone comes to the ticket window and put them in the envelope then.

That is a GREAT question.I am going to be checking Hal's Blog as well as dcgames2008.com and disneychannelgames.com and also the UPDATES column here on The DIS. Also,keep checking this thread regularly because as evidenced by today's Fan Day announcement,this is THE place to be for DCG information!

With all the increased security these days, does Disney check to see if you are a resort guest before letting you board a bus?

Well,I am sorry,I just can't give you anymore hints. On a side note,I think going to the Disney Channel Games and Walt Disney World during the same vacation is going to be the "BEST OF BOTH WORLDS"!

Are you all sure that field seats are just based on who gets there first? Because I was thinking that maybe field seats were separated into groups. That would be a lot better in my opnion.

With all the increased security these days, does Disney check to see if you are a resort guest before letting you board a bus?

I have read reports of being asked to show a Key to the World card before boarding a WDW bus,but during the 11 trips and 88 days I have spent staying in WDW Resorts since I started going in 2003,I have NEVER been asked to produce my KttW card when boarding any WDW bus.
