Disney Channel Games 2008???

Well this same argument can be made though for concerts at $100 a ticket (which we just paid for Miley/Hannah a few months ago and many are now paying for Jonas... unfortunately not everyone can afford everything and there are times that I am one of those but more often than not this single mom figures out a way to get what my kids want ...

Vafarm I have not forgotten about you guys and am working on it... hang in there

One thing that I have to add about $ for concert vs. fanfest is that at a concert our $70 (fees and parking included) per person did not guarantee us a great seat within inches of the headlining performer. At the last JB concert, you could get tickets for $145 to go to the soundcheck and get an autographed program. Someone else would have to answer if the programs were autographed at a m&g or just passed out because we had already purchased our tickets before the $145 had gone on sale and I really wasn't willing to pay that much per ticket.

The fanfest would give you multiple performers and stars, and would allow you to be very close for my kids to shake hands (you know that feeling of I'll never wash again). I understand that alot of people would not be able to afford it, but I also think that there would be less of a crowd at the games if you offered a fanfest to the ones who were able to afford it. Why would you stand out everyday in the heat listening to the endless screams of teenies if you could pay to go on one day without the struggle of your smaller children being pushed and squashed by older kids for maybe getting some autographs? Also, at the games, I know people did it anyway, but you were not supposed to take pictures of the stars, but at a fanfest that would be a part of it - getting pictures.

If given enough time, I would budget for it ( I actually think I'll start now just in case) and I would also ask my kids if they would want to do this before I shelled out the $ and it could be part of their b-day or Christmas. Also, knowing Radio Disney, there would be a contest for winning tickets to it! I know the odds of winning would be like 1 to 1,000,000,000,000, but it
would offer hope to those that might not be able to aford the cost.

So... Would you go? What would you be willing to pay?

Question, and I am sorry if you've answered and I didn't look closely enough. Are you proposing that it be done in a theme park where the cost of admission is also a factor or on a day like the Wed. when no events were scheduled and do it at WWoS? Thanks.

wait... so where exactally was the party>
The DCG 2008 All-Star Party was at World ShowPlace on May 2.World Showplace is the special events building between the Canada and United Kingdom pavilions. The All-Star Party is basically a media event to publicize the Disney Channel games. It was held at the American Adventure last year.:)

any type of fan fest for the dc games should be FREE and only FREE disney makes up on everthing they give away that week of the dc games . Alot of money is made off all the things they sell from food, water, soda all way to
t-shirts and more that week is a very bussy week at all the disney resorts because of the dc games people come from all over just to see the dc games and to meet the stars . If any one has gone to the star wars weekend they have somthing of a fan fest with the star wars stars you can meet them take pictures with them they sign things for you and it is free for that you do have to get it the park with a ticket but it is the same thing with the dc game when you go there you spend a lot of money on everthing they sell all week and during the concert. So any fan fest would have to be FREE WHY YOU SAY because a Free fan fest would bring even more fans to the games that week which would bring in more money form all the things they would buy all day at the fan fest FREE fan fest means more money for people to spend
A paid fan fest means less fan that week so less money. The dc games and conert with a fan fest should be about all the disney fans and only about the fans remember with out the fans their would be no disney stars and no dc games at all

What did you think about "Living the Dream"?I thought it was funny when JB said they still have to take out the garbage!:) I also liked that Demi was on it-even though if you blinked you would have missed her!LOL:)

Your Super Soaps Weekends and Star Wars Weekends are FAR from free honey... do you know what a park admission is these days? And if you think they get a lot of business because of the games you are way off... yes some come, but not enough to make it worth their while... personally I do not want to go stand in a theme park all day and hope I make it to the front of the line to get 3 autographs... this is why I am trying to get opinions on WOULD you attend an ORGANIZED FANFEST at WWOS and HOW MUCH WOULD YOU PAY? If you wouldn't pay, then you would not go, that's your answer..

Yes you are right ,but there are lots of other things you do in the parks for the price of an admisson ticket. If you really think about it is all about the kids and for the kids. Fan fest should be opended to pass holders and season passholders via email they should have 8-10 wrist bands given out after your confirmation via email just like the concert and then open it up to the general public and it will be organized. That is the right way to do it. Many people do not have alot of money even trying to buget yourself and frankly I think if it was not for the disney fans these STARS would not be famous.

While I agree on their "famous" status, they don't need to hold a fanfest and what I am trying to do is come up with a plan to motivate them to do it. Making a lot of money for the charities is motivation. Just as with a concert or any other special event, the people who really want to go will pay. I'm just trying to get a general idea of what others are willing to pay. Period. As I said before, the Games are different and I'm not suggesting that this in any way take the place of those willing to stand out there all day and chase them around.

to quote my 15 year old's myspace bulletin afterwards:

ahhhhh...living the dream
so amazing, but it needs to be like a hour long, not 5minutes=[

but i loved every second of it!

hah favorite quotes,

joe: tour of 2007! NO 2008!

joe: so do you live around here?
demi: no.

nick: frankie likes to pack, toys.......toys.......and.. MORE TOYS.

What did you think about "Living the Dream"?I thought it was funny when JB said they still have to take out the garbage!:) I also liked that Demi was on it-even though if you blinked you would have missed her!LOL:)

I missed "Living the Dream."

Shocking, I know.

But I was at the Chronicles of Narnia! Which was AMAZING! Especially since the first trailer before the movie, was a movie I am DYING to see...TWILIGHT!

But I did watch LTD on Youtube this morning, so I am all caught up. I hate that they're only running 5 minute episodes every friday until, like, September, but that's how disney keeps it's viewership.

If it was 2 30 minute episodes, they couldn't guarantee a whole bunch of viewers every friday for the next 2-3 months.

I probably won't watch them, at least not on Disney Channel. I try to avoid being home on Friday nights haha.

One of my concerns about a fan fest, is that Disney will make it a money making thing for their stockholders! LOL If enough people say "I'm willing to pay $100 to meet these stars" then Disney will realize they have an untapped gold mine. If it were held at a theme park, I'd be more willing to pay if it got me admission to the park as well.

And, I don't know that I would be willing to pay - even if I had more $$$ available - just for autographs. One thing I liked about the DC Games was that my kids got to see that these DC stars are regular people. Paying $100 just to "meet" them, just seems to put them on more of a pedestal than what I think is healthy for my kids to see. I *personally* feel a little more justified in paying $100 for a concert ticket because we are being entertained, seeing a whole spectacle - not just meeting a 15 year old kid. My kids both do competitive dance, and my older DD is in the musical theatre program at her high school. I like to take them to performances - both concerts and Broadway shows - that show them how hard work and lots of practice can pay off. To me, the impressive thing about the Jonas Brothers was watching them on stage in front of 15,000 fans. I can't imagine my 15 year old getting on stage and talking about a difficult experience the way that Nick Jonas addressed his diabetes diagnosis during their show. I think that took a lot of confidence and poise. When I go to a show like that, I hope that my kids learn from it and that they are inspired to work harder at dance or musical theatre and strive to be their best just like the Jonas Brothers have.

i LOVED living the dream!!!

i laughed when joe messed up the years, and frankie's toy packing!
:)

i am excited because a couple of episodes were shot in tucson... and i went to that show!

haha

but back to fanfest.
i think we should send the idea.
i personally think it should NOT be free.
that is just a reason for chaos. do you know how many people will be there? and it means shorter time with each person. and the celebrities would probably get tired.....
i think the people willing to pay should get in.... and also there could be a DISNEY-HELD contest where you can enter and DISNEY... not radio disney will choose winners for those who didn't buy your way in.

The whole reason they have not had a fanfest up to now is that they CAN'T charge for these events unless they pay the stars... and with that many involved they can't charge enough to warrant it and come out ahead... that si why I am suggesting it as a CHARITY money maker... 100% going to the CHARITIES.....

yess!
100 % goes to charity i say!
like if you pay per person or something.... then that money goes to their team's charity!
:)

or if you are paying for like a ticket, it could be how whoever you go to, they get a portion of the money you spent for their team.....?
idk...

Goofy... you score 10 points for "getting it"!!! In a park the numbers would be so much higher and sort fo negate the whole reason for doing it as we'd then be in line ALL day just to get to 2 or 3 of them... in a remote location like WWOS it could be ticketed attendees only and cut down on the MASSES

haha thanks!
:)

i think it should be set up like the character rooms in toontown. like so that way you don't have to lean over a table to get a hug or whatever.
like it could be rooms like... "hannah montana", "camp rock", "international", etc....

oh yeah!
thats an even better idea1
haha
i don't know why i didn't think of that!

can you send me a copy of the letter you are going to write to disney. i will combine it with mine and post a template on this site so people can also write to them!.... well maybe!

:)

that is not true why they don't have a fan fest it is not because they would have to pay the stars the disney stars are here any way for the games. it is not like they have to fly them in just for a fan fest they are there for the games they do work for disney these games are just part of what they do for the disney channel. the games brings them out more to the fans it trys to show another side of them. disney gives a lot to charities they don't need our help like i said before the best way is to do it just like they do the concert by emailing passholders and seaon ticket holder first give them up to 10 tickets or wrist bands then open it to the public with 10 tickets or wrist bands and you will have no one chasing the disney stars around.
money is tough right now with gas prices and food and everything else going up. passholders spend a lot of money at the parks a long with everyone else so i donot think a free fan fest would hurt disney to give to us once a year .
Remember this,if disney does not keep the fans happy they donot come back we the fans make disney stars, disney channel and the park what they are.

yeah, but i don't own season passes. i like on the west coast, and can't afford to fly to disney alot.
but i would be willing to pay alot of money to meet the stars. it is so hard to get almost one-on-one time that lasts more than 10 seconds with the jonas brothers....... i would pay as much as i need to.

the fanfest shouldn't be free because than you will have all the crowds and it would get chaotic.
i understand the economy is bad, but if you're willing to go to ONE star's concert or whatever, you would probably be willing to pay about that amount to meet DOZENS of stars...
