Disney Channel Games 2008???

If they aren't open to the public, how do you peek?

I sent the request in on Sunday about audience at the DCGames to the same concert e-mail (DCGAMESCONCERT08@GMAIL.COM) and here is the response:

The games will have no audience this year, but the public is welcome to stop by and take a peek.

UGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So -for those who went last year... is it worth missing school and paying the airfare to come out just for the concert?

I'm SO bummed. That was straight from the Disney team so I'm really hesitant to not believe her but I'm open to anyone else who gets different info.

I personally do not think it will be "closed" to the public. Maybe what they meant is there will not be a "paid" audience. There were people that were either paid or compensated with Disney tickets to be in the audience last year. Due to the great turnout last year and the buzz for this years games maybe they just do not need to add the paid "extras"??? That would be my take on it because if there is no audience at all then the games will not have anyone there to cheer or applaud for the stars??

What do you all think??????

If I did not live withing driving distance and this did not happen to fall on my already planned travel dates then NO I would not fly and pay that much just for the concert. As it has already been mentioned on the boards. This is NOT a regular concert. The stars will play maybe 3 songs...which they will sing the same 2-3 more than once so they are able to get enough footage for the Disney Channel.

Gee just thinking about the possibility of this being a "closed" set. If they do that then there will be no autographs this year unless they do the fan fair or if they allow them the night of the concerts????????

How can I know the dates and times of the filming? I would like to know so I can fit the right times into my itinerary. We'll be there April 26th-May 5th. Still hoping for someone that won't be able to use their tickets. We're coming from Mexico.

I sent a follow up note to the e-mail asking for additional details. I'll keep everyone posted as I get them. The folks over there have been very responsive and helpful. Keep your fingers crossed that the games can be attended. Otherwise this will have all been for nothing for us :-(

I sent my e-mail at 12:00am and haven't heard anything, which is frustrating because this determines whether we take this long-weekend trip and involves booking airfare. (Car is reserved, hotel is reserved -- they're easily canceled if things fall through.)

Anyway, in case I do actually receive a confirmation, I have a question for those of you who have actually received ticket confirmations: What are the details of the ticket pick-up? Most importantly, when?

Are you an AP holder? Did you try the day they were available to AP holders?

So glad I purchased the AP! Seems to have been worth it!!

I am NOT a passholder and was given (6) tickets via the e-mail. They are aware that I'm not a passholder, too.

Your tickets must be picked up at Disney’s Wide World of Sports® Complex prior to the concert. There will be no ticket pick up available on May 3rd.

PLEASE BRING THIS LETTER WITH YOU WHEN YOU PICK UP YOUR TICKETS AS WELL AS A FORM OF I.D. SHOWING YOUR NAME

The Ticket Window will be open on the following days from 8:30am – 6:00pm daily:

Saturday, April 26th
Sunday, April 27th
Monday, April 28th
Tuesday, April 29th
Wednesday, April 30th

IF YOUR TICKETS ARE NOT PICKED UP BY APRIL 30TH, WE WILL RE-ALLOCATE THEM TO GUESTS ON OUR WAITING LIST.


All details regarding the concert will be included in the envelope with your tickets.

I really am not as bad as I sound. Just frustrated that I never got tickets when others sent in requests after I did and got them and I didn't.

And, I'm a teacher on spring break with nothing to do - well, I have plenty of laundry, but what fun is that? LOL

i too also sent an email at 12:00 am and heard nothing, does this mean I am SOL? If so, is anybody willing to give up just 2 tickets for me & my DD, I try the most for her all the time, she is a cardiac patient and I am just recuping from Hodgkins cancer. If anybody needs documentation about this I will have the social worler from MD Anderson send a letter. I really want her to go it would mean the world. It's really understandable though, the frustration. People who sent in ticket requests later than 12 or 12:01 have gotten tickets while those who did it right away got the "capacity" response or no response at all. It's very frustrating.

I think you are right on target! From the email I received a few days ago from dcgames2008,from the email received by an earlier poster recently from dcgames2008 and from the direct quote from Disney in Hal Boedeker's blog we know one thing-THE PUBLIC CAN GO INTO THE STADIUM AND WATCH THE TAPINGS.That means the Stars will be VISIBLE and can be seen by their fans.I don't think the DCG Stars will ignore the pleas of their fans and NEVER come over to the stands for a few minutes.They were very good about "visiting" with the fans last year.If the DCG Stars were not going to be allowed to interact the way they did last year,I think it would be a completely closed taping.This is JUST MY OPINION and I may find out I am wrong,but I think it is going to end up being a lot like last year.

I don't understand why you think you can only go to the Concert.The email says the public can watch the daily tapings.Who do you think is in the daily tapings?THE DCG STARS-ALL OF THEM! Isn't that the point of your trip-to SEE the DCG Stars?

I hope everyone has a blast! I'm so bummed, i was gonna go for my 14th birthday, but now i can't cause i was just minutes late to getting the tix. I want to go to the actual tapings but my mom says she doesn't know cause we'd rather be at the parks :'( I do too, but i still wanted to go.. i'm sooo bummed. Does anyone know the times of tapings for the actual games? I'd appreciate anyone who responds. I am friends with dancers of Disney Channel celebrities and i want to meet up with them there.

The reply from DCGames said that the games would have no audience this year. It doesn't say that it is open to the public - at least the one I got didn't. That's why I'm still confused. I think you guys are all probably right and taping will be open but the information seems to contradict that.
