I booked a package for June 6-11th , just to see what it would cost;) . They put it on a courtesy hold for me. Today I got an email that says the deposit for my vacation is due: $400:confused3 . I booked a room, dining and tix. It was always just $200...did they change this??? Thanks! (BTW-can't make the June trip...too much $$ to go :sad1: ).

That is confusing...I am going in July and my deposit , which I placed in January, was 200 dollars.

I just booked last week for October 2008 with room, tickets and dining and my deposit was $200.

Is your reservation for two rooms?
If it is then the deposit is $200 per room

Double check with Disney. It sounds like they booked you twice...Your deposit should only be $200.:goodvibes

Not sure if this would be the issue...but when we booked our April trip (also had to cx due to funds! No tax refund this year to pay for it! UGH) I found out that they had put on the trip insurance (they never informed me it was on and I never asked for it) when I went to cancel it she said I was lucky because I called on the 13th day...if I had waited one more day I would have lost the money it cost for the trip insurance! For my package it was $143 but I've never heard of that before! You have to cancel within the first 2 weeks from when you make your reservation...but I never asked for ti!

I was happy I caught it in time but that's never been told to me before...maybe they charged you for the ti?

I got an email saying I needed to pay a $229 deposit? Not that the extra $29 is that big a deal but I just wonder why?

Do you have a package with park tickets, or did you book a room only?

We booked a bounceback package and our deposit was 316, they had included the insurance. We cancelled the insurance but they did not refund the difference. It just stayed on our deposit.

The $229 deposit was for room only. I got the email today and it didn't look like there was insurance or anything but who knows (the CM wasn't exactly helpful - see my other 'help' post). Any ideas?

A room only deposit is one night rate plus tax. Total minus deposit due at checkin. A deposit for a package is typically 200.00 with payment due in full 45 days from travel. If your deposit is $229.00, where are you staying? Does this look like your room rate + tax?

OP: Sounds like they billed you twice, I would call again. The deposit for one room on a package is still $200.00.:goodvibes

We booked 2 weeks ago for an August package. After the CM took my $200 deposit & told me the balance, I thought it sounded funny (higher than I thought it should be) so I called back immediately & found out the extra was for trip insurance. The 1st CM never mentioned this to me...I had it removed. Why do they just "happen to forget" to mention this to you or even ask if you would like the insurance???
