When planning our trip to Disney this year, DBF and I either wanted to come for his birthday (july8th) or mine (december 13) I decided we would come down in the summer, since december is so crazy for our family and the holidays. Our orginal idea was to come down the week of his Birthday, HOWEVER dbf was accepted to a summer paramedic training program and had to move our trip to August. If we go down August 26th, almost a month after his birthday. Can we still tell him that we are celebrating his birthday? Or will they not buy that. I mean, even though we postponed the date of the trip, i'm still paying for the trip for his birthday. I don't want them to think we are faking his birthday but obviously school is much more important.

ALSO has anyone ever ordered a celebration Cake? I was going to order one for dinner one night, and I didn't know how much a typical small cake would run? Also is there a website with designs.

TIA

:confused3

You can celebrate his birthday whenever you want! We celebrated my fiance's graduation two months early :cool1:

There's a whole cake chatter thread here. The first post will have an FAQ and links with all the info you need on ordering cakes.

As a PP said, you can celebrate anything anytime you want. :) Going to the cake thread for info on ordering a cake is the best idea. That's the only way to guarantee he will be given any special attention. We celebrated my DH's 50th over NYE weekend. His actual birthday was while we were there. I documented it on all our reservations, & Tony's Town Square was the only place that acknowledged it. The waiter gave him an ice cream sundae, which was very thoughtful. The other restaurants we ate dinner at were signatures & they didn't do anything. They didn't even say "Happy Birthday". Coincidentally, the server at TTS was the worst server we had. Fortunately, we didn't care that he didn't get special attention. It didn't affect our experience in the least. If it was important to me that he received special attention, I would have ordered a cake to make sure his birthday was acknowledged. I brought gifts & champagne for the room to celebrate the occasion instead.
