Hi Everyone,

Just wondering how the bus system works at resorts. I know that the buses take you to the parks and bring you back to your resort, but if you were at MK and wanted to go to MGM, are there buses for that or do you have to go back to the resort and go from there. We just drove to the parks last time, but we likely won't have a vehicle next time. Any info would be great!!!

Thanks! :flower:

There are several ways to do it. I usually take a bus to the nearest resort and then hop a bus to that park.

If you were at Mk and wanted to go to Epcot, you would take the monorail back to TTC and then the monorail to Epcot. For MGM and AK you take the monorail to TTC and then a bus. If at MGM and you wanted to go to Epcot I would bypass the bus and use the boat. It drops you by the countries and the turnstile to get in is right there. Plus sightseeing Swan & Dolphin, BC/YC, and Boardwalk is great.

Great thanks for the info! Is the TTC just outside the parks where all the buses are?

The TTC is the parking lot area of MK, which is separated from MK by the lake. In order to go to other parks from MK, you need to go to the TTC via Ferry or Monorail, then take a bus from the TTC to either MGM or AK. To get to Epcot from MK you take the Epcot monorail from the TTC.

From AK, it's all busses to MGM, Epcot or MK.

From Epcot, you can get to MGM via the boat thru the International Gateway near the World Showcase area. Monorail is back to MK, and bus to AK

From MGM a boat to Epcot is easiest. Buses to other parks.

BTW - there is no bus from a park to DTD. Buses only go to DTD from resorts.

It's odd Disney doesn't make it easy to switch between some parks (besides the Boat from MGM to Epcot) and Monorails from MK to Epcot).

Disney knows people want to do this -- that's why Disney sells tickets with a hopper option.

I believe there are busses to/from the front of Epcot to MGM.

All parks have direct buses to each other. There are direct buses between AK and Epcot, AK and Studios, and Epcot and Studios. There are also direct buses from AK and Studios (monorail for Epcot) to the TTC, from there you catch the MK monorail.

The only exception is the Magic Kingdom, which requires a transfer at the Transportation & Ticket Center.

I have a bus transportation question,too
Last time at WDW I stayed at CSR, and before that POFQ. And when I wanted to go to the BW, I took a bus from Epcot to MGM, and then a boat from there to BW. This time I'm staying at SSR. Am I correct in saying if I want to go to BW from there, that my best bet is to go to DTD and then take a bus from there?
TIA!

Anytime you want to go to an Epcot Resort, your best bet is to avoid Epcot and use the Disney-MGM Studios as a connection point.

However, since you are staying at a resort that is so close to Downtown Disney, then yes, DTD would also make a decent connection point. (Alternatively, if one was at one of the MK resorts, they could use MK as a connection point)

Thanks. I thought so, I just wanted to double check myself.
