Disney buses better at moderate resorts than value?

We've been to All-Star music 2 times.

Some days the buses were VERY slow. And we'd wait for more than 1 hour sometimes.

Is the bus service better at moderate resorts?

I've never seen a discussion of this lead to any definitive answer. Each set of resorts, and each resort, seems to have their/its own fans which consistently contend that the bus service from their favorite is better than the bus service from the alternatives. My conclusion from reading all those discussions has been that there is no difference between the bus service from the value resorts and from the moderate resorts. On the average, they're all about the same. The only resorts that have a significant advantage in terms of transportation to the parks are the deluxe resorts, due to their proximity, and that advantage is pretty much limited to the theme parks they're actually close to.

I've got to agree with Bicker (gasp!) that there really isn't any difference in bus service between the various resorts.

They are all equally poor. No - Bicker didn't say that; that's simply my opinion.

Yeah, I'll disagree with that. Again, I only have bus-experience with the deluxe resorts, and the bus transportation has been relatively good. Wilderness Lodge to the MK is fantastic. On one morning, we spent more time waiting for some guy to move his car out of the way of the bus, than it took to make the whole rest of the trip from the hotel to the park. BoardWalk to MK isn't bad either, nor is AKL to D-MGM or Epcot.

thx

I guess I'll have to try it a lot more times to see hehehe

Hey I'm, young... I'll work my butt off and earn more money for a lot more Disney trips hehehe

I stay at all levels of resorts in WDW. I have to say, without a doubt, that the best bus service I have had to date, was at POP. Yes, the lines at park closing were long, but the buses just seemed to keep coming! When I stayed at Music I didn't notice or experience bad bus service at all. It was better than the bus service at some of the deluxes though. At the values, I have never waited more than 15 mins for a bus....and that wait was when I had just missed a morning bus to MK. At the moderates, I have found the wait times to be very similar. It may seem like it takes longer to get to a park, but that may be because the bus has to make mulitiple stops within the resort. The longest waits I have had have been at the deluxes. Go figure.

I, too, have stayed at all levels of resorts (more than 20 visits) and found POP to be by far the best. Mainly because they have there own bus service....no sharing with other resorts. Also in the values you will have the cues for each park. At the mods/deluxes I have stayed at, its just a waiting area. So many times there was a rush when the bus pulled up....many a disagreement witnessed!

You are right about the line up for the buses. The values are set up so people have to line up. The others are set up so people can rush the bus regardless of when they arrived at the stop.
As far as wait time goes, it's generally short even when you just miss a bus. Of course, all bets are off at park closing . . .:scared1: it's just a mess. Particularly if your resort is the last one one the row . . .

In my opinion, the best bus service is the resorts that have direct service to a park, and it varys with levels of resorts.

I guess the best then would be Pop Century and it's transportation to MK, Epcot, and Studios. No other stops. However, it's transportation to AK is not as good, because it also stops at Blizzard Beach.

AKL is probably about the same because no sharing either. (I think the Studios run is the one that stops at Blizzard Beach).

Carribbean beach and OKW seem to be the worst to me. Many, many stops within the resort. I hate that, and at Carribbean Beach you NEVER know whether your stop is #1 or #8 because it varies because of where the bus entered Carribbean beach. (They have like 4 bus entries).

I used to recommend that folks go to the Contemporary instead of TTC to park hop from MK, however, don't do that to go to the Studios, because that bus also stops at the Poly and the Grand Floridian, yuk!!

Also, the Epcot Resorts have strange bus service also. They all share buses for many routes. If I could figure out what resort is their LAST stop before heading to their destination, I would be happy, but there seems to be no rhyme or reason. For awhile the last stop was Yacht Club before heading to DTD, however my last trip the Beach Club was the last stop.

Also, all of this also depends on time of day and time of year. Rush hour, there may be no sharing (park opening and park closing), but middle of the day, very early morning, and the last few lets clear the park, may have sharing.

I guess you can tell I don't mind waiting for buses, but once I get on one I really prefer it to go directly to my destination.

Another thing is the Disney transportation service, especially the bus service is very dynamic and adjusts to the conditions of the moment, so you can never really say that any one resort has the "best" bus service all the time.

The design of OKW makes it hard to make any time there. The roads are narrow and you have tight turns at the end of all the roads to exit to the next stop.

Your daytime waits may be a little longer than the nighttime waits because of how the busses are dispatched but the dispatchers really try for no more than a 15 minute wait between busses.

We stayed at coronado springs last week and had very good service. never waited very long.

We have stayed at POFQ and Pop and I must agree with the previous posters that Pop has much better bus service. POFQ was okay because we were picked up and dropped off first but going to the parks you had to still ride through POR which was a delay. It was pretty though driving through there. Pop was great because busses seem to keep coming every morning. Now the evening was another story. We had a long wait every evening leaving MK but then there were tons of people. I did get irritated seeing a bus for a deluxe resort with only 5-10 people on it while we waited in a line for an hour for a bus. Also, values don't necessarily have the furtherest walk to their bus stop at the parks. I noticed one evening the signs at MGM had been rearranged and Pop was moved to about the middle instead of the one fartherest away.
