As of last week, the Magic Band Collectors website is posting that Disney Fairytale Weddings has started sending Bride and Groom MagicBands to couples getting married at Disney. The full post and pictures can be found at: http://www.magicbandcollectors.com/special-magicbands-appear-for-disney-weddings-brides-and-grooms/

I was just curious if anyone on the forums had received these MagicBands and, if so, how far in advance of their wedding date did they arrive? My fiancee and I are getting married at Disney World on June 16th and are very excited at the prospect of these being available.

Thanks in advance!

From what I understand, they are the replacement gift instead of annual passes. So if you got annual passes, you won't get the bands. And I think it's only for Wishes, not Escape.

I also saw that they now have ones you can pay for to customize bride/groom ones. So if you got APs, you got a better deal and if you want the bands, you can buy similar ones.

You are definitely correct that they have Bride/Groom options, which were just released, for the OnDemand MagicBands. The article covering those is here: http://www.magicbandcollectors.com/...-added-including-park-attractions-duffy-more/

As far as the Bride/Groom MagicBands I posted about earlier being a replacement for the Annual Passes for the Wishes weddings I don't know if that is correct. I am in the process of requesting some additional information from our coordinator but we had initially been looking at an Escape wedding back in September 2015 for our upcoming June 2016 wedding. We received notification at that time that the Annual Passes would no longer be offered for Escape weddings booked after September 30, 2015 and as a result we switched over to one of the 4-hour Wishes weddings (basically a Wishes Lite option but with all the full customization of a Wishes wedding). When we took into account the cost of the annual passes it actually came out to be a better deal than the Escape wedding. To the best of my knowledge Disney Fairytale Weddings is still providing the Annual Passes with the Wishes weddings.

I would actually be shocked if they considered these MagicBands to be a substitution for Annual Passes. I'll definitely post any additional information I receive here to keep everyone up to date.

Disney's Fairy Tale Weddings stopped offering annual passes with Wishes events earlier this year. They had a limited supply and were giving them out as people signed contracts, but the supply has now been exhausted.

Thanks for that information Lurkyloo! I had done a search about annual passes but apparently hadn't gone back far enough to where you had posted this information initially.

It is a huge bummer. I don't think DFTW wanted to stop giving the passes, but the prices went up SO much last year. The MagicBands are definitely no substitute for annual passes, but couples who don't know what they're missing seem to love them.

Just wanted to follow up to verify that the information provided by marsh0013 and lurkyloo is correct per the response from our coordinator. The Bride/Groom MagicBands are a replacement for the Annual Passes which were discontinued. Thank you both for the updates and information!

We didn't get the annual passes OR magic bands....we got a series of "boxes" with "gifts"...
We were told THIS stuff replaced the Annual Passes...
We also on our wedding day got a piece of the Chandelier from the movie Cinderella...

When we got married in 2014, they gave us most of those trinkets but with the annual passes.

My wife was pissed when I showed her those disney bands but when I explained about the loss of the annual passes, I can't repeat here what she said. :o

Those annual passes were the best. We don't live in Florida, but between our Tasting, our Wedding and a Birthday visit, we got 11 days out of those passes.

Yeah, the Box o' Trinkets replaces the watches they stopped giving out a couple years ago, and the MagicBands replace the annual passes.

Then that means epcotcenter1982 got caught somewhere in the middle? Or else the piece of the chandelier was suppose to compensate?

The piece of chandelier is something they were doing at DFTW on both coasts and isn't linked to the AP discontinuation.

We got married this past October and we got the boxes of trinkets that epcotcenter1982 posted as well as the piece of the chandelier from the movie Cinderella. We did get the AP's as well. My cousin had an Escape wedding several years ago and she did not get APs. She was super jealous when I told her we got them for our wedding.

I have to say, I'm not sure what I was expecting but the DFTW magic bands seem very......blah to me. I thought they would have a better design on them I guess.

Sounds like it....
We went to Franks and there was no inkling or sign of magic bands to come. So we have simply fallen through the cracks...

Now I don't think Magic Bands are really worth anything and missing these is no big deal as I have no interest in ever paying for any...but if it is supposed to replace the Annual Passes I don't appreciate being TOLD that the boxes of stuff was the replacement when this wasn't in fact the case...I'd rather they had just said...no more annual passes and been done with it...

I did receive the MagicBands in the mail this week. While cute, they definitely are no substitute for the AP's.

So if someone is starting the process for their wedding now, what are they to expect? The magic bands and the trinkets? An AP would have been awesome. I am sorry we missed that.

We are having an Escape wedding in June 2016. We just missed out on the annual passes but they decreased Escape package prices (modestly!). We have received the trinkets in the post too - we are a same-sex couple so was pleased with the matching groom elements - nice touch!

My question is: we will get the MagicBands? We live in the UK, I'm pretty sure they don't post them outside the US.
