It's wearing outfits that are evocative of a certain character without being an outright costume. If you were Disney bounding Pooh, for example, you'd wear yellow pants and a red shirt. You can google for examples. What is Disney bound?
techincally that can be but isnt always, your thinking of dapper days, alot of people will disbound on dapper days but you dont need to be dapper or retro to disneybound. Dapper days your supposed to be fancey often retro but doesnt have to be retro but is intended to be on the fancy side. Disneybounding aka closet cosplay are outfits inspired by characters, they dont need to be formal at all if you look at some of the popular guides some are super casual, although there are fancy ones to. so above i descrided my minnie bikini another easy example would be green pants with purple shirt would ariel. Is this the same as when they dress up like the 50s or 60s? I feel like that's a dress up thing but I could be wrong!![]()

how many of you guys disney bound? do you do it outside the parks? what characters have you done? and who do you want to do??
I have the hot topic frozen dress not the ana cosplay one but the one with the sorta hidden pattern i want to get more of their disney line its so nice!I disneybounded on our last trip. I did Anna from Frozen (got the dress from Hot Topic, had a white hair extension in my braid), Ariel (red tank top with Ariel on it, jeans, black cardigan with an anchor on it, seashell necklace), Snow White (blue tshirt, yellow shorts, red headband w/hair bow), Village Belle (blue dress w/white long sleeve shirt underneath, blue hair bow), and Beauty and the Beast (stained glass dress and enchanted rose necklace from Hot Topic). It was pretty chilly, so I wound up wearing leggings and sometimes a hoodie with my outfits, which kinda ruined it for me.
Next year I want to disbound as Minnie, Woody, and R2D2. I haven't figured out if I want to repeat any of the ones that I did this year, since I didn't get many pics due to how chilly it was.
Love your plans! i plan to bring clothes folded small in my backpack i want mainly do dresses but similar ideas as yours, not sure if i am going to do minnie in the parks now because i got a minnie bikini for at the resortI'm Disney Bounding my trip as a new princess each day! I have 7 Disney Days (but I'm also going to do Rogue from X Men for Universal).
I have a question though - I'm going the second week of June and it will be HOT. I have reservations at some Signature Dining places - if I'm wearing a tank top, will I need a cardigan to be seated in these places?
What I plan on doing:
First Day: Snow White - blue shirt, yellow sailor shorts, red sneakers, red hair bow. Hair in high ponytail/bun.
Second Day: Jasmine/Star Wars - Teal shirt with Rapunzel/Star Wars mashup graphic, teal mosaic shorts, gold necklace and earrings, teal sneakers, hair in 3 part ponytail.
Third Day: Ariel - Purple tank, green shorts, seashell earrings, purple tropical flower for hair, purple sneakers. Parting hair to the side and doing a mock victory roll to get more volume in the front like her bangs.
Fourth Day: Universal - (Harry Potter day - Ravenclaw tank, blue shorts, blue sneakers.)
Fifth Day: Univeresal - Rogue - yellow shirt, green shorts, yellow sneakers, possibly green headband or bandana.
Sixth Day: Aurora - Pink shirt, pink shorts, gold necklace, owl earrings, pink sneakers. No idea what to do for hair.
Seventh Day: Belle - Yellow shirt, yellow sailor shorts, yellow sneakers, red rose earrings, red rose hair clip to connect side part sections to the bun.
Eighth Day: Rapunzel - Purple tank, grey/purple shorts, gold flower earrings, flower headband tie, hair in braid, purple sneakers.
Ninth Day: Cinderella - Blue tank, blue shorts, blue headband, pearl earrings, blue sneakers, hair in high bun.
