Ok this is a pretty random question, but does anyone know why a lot of blog sites, Disney Food Blog and Disney Tourist Blog are 2 examples, don't put dates on individual posts so you can tell when the heck it was written? If I'm looking for information, I need to know if it was written last week or 3 years ago. As we all know, things are constantly changing and information becomes dated or obsolete pretty quickly. Usually I can get an idea through context or looking at the comments, which are date stamped, but that's time consuming and I shouldn't have to.
Both of those sites are well done and provide good info, but not time stamping the posts drives me nuts, probably more than it should lol.
I assume it has something to do with search engine results, part of the Google algorithm takes age of the content into account. But Google knows how old it is even if you don't stamp it with a date in the content, so it seems strange to me. If they just leave it off to obfuscate the age of the content so people are more likely to click through, that's a pretty user-hostile practice IMO.
