Disney Birthday Tips?

We will be taking my dad down for his birthday this year (actually planned the trip before we found out its the big celebration down there this year!) But i wanted to check with everyone and find out things we shouldnt forget to do for him.... little stuff mostly. Like having the front desk call the room with a special birthday message?, letting them know at the resturant when we arrive.. i know we can order him a birthday cake in advance.... what am i missing?? Any tips??? i want to get everything in order. Thanks for any help!

At the parks, you can pick up a birthday pin at Guest Relations that will get you lots of attention from cast members, if he will wear it.

Tell everyone it is his brithday Tell the restaurant before you get there. We had things noted all over all our reservations before we even go to WDW.
We were surprised with a room upgrade (not saying this will happen) and then received balloons and a card from the Fab 5.
