Disney Bells and Pixie Dust! Our Practically Perfect Vacation!*Thanks for reading!

I remember that! Hair bands, right? Speaking of that, the LAST concert I was at was Skid Row last Saturday night. That brings back such good memories.:goodvibes

Scott's leaving the day after I get there, so we're going to have to meet up the night I get there. Or maybe I'll head over to Beaches and Cream and have a No Way Jose with Scott!!:lmao:

They're still touring? With Sebastian? I LOVED him! He was all over my walls along with Slash from GNR. Great memories!

That's so cool that you get to meet up w/ Scott. Beaches and Cream sounds like a good plan. I've never been. You mean no kitchen sink for you?

I'm debating if I want to post an update tonight. It's typed up. Just need to upload pics. Oh, decisions, decisions...

No more Sebastian. But now they have Johnny Solinger, and he's great. Kinda reminds me of Bret Michaels in the looks department, which is kind of blah. I LOVE Slash! He's so hot!!

No kitchen sink. I'm not even interested in it. I couldn't leave that place without trying the No Way Jose!

Yes, post an update...I'll still be here for a little while. Hoping the hubby goes to bed before me.:rotfl:

We finished up our meal and were waiting for the bill. Which I must say is so nice to know it will be $0 every meal! For us the dining plan is worth it for that. The foods already paid for and Dave doesn’t have to keep pulling out his wallet! Anyway, it was getting close to the time for the Canadian storyteller so I took Hunter to get a spot. There wasn’t anyone waiting yet. The CM was talking to people as they stopped by and she was from Australia which I thought was funny since we were in Canada. Yes, I’m easily amused. Dave and mom came out of the restaurant right before the storyteller started. Megan was starting to wake up. She had taken a nice long nap and should be raring to go, right? There wasn’t as big of a crowd as I thought there would be. The storyteller was very good. Think Santa Clause meets lumberjack! Afterwards he took a few pictures. Megan gave him a big hug which surprised him. It was cute.

I’ve learned from the DIS that even though it isn’t marked on the map there are characters pretty much in every country so off we went to search Canada for a character! We went up the stairs and there they were. A quick photo op with “The Bears” and then off to Niagra Falls! More like Niagra trickle! Canada is a very pretty area and I’m glad we took the time to look around.

I’m embarrassed to say I can’t name the countries in order around World Showcase. So, we started to make our way around. We had hoped to catch some more storytellers, but the times just didn’t match up. We did see the storyteller for UK finishing up and his robes were so pretty. We hit the Kidcot stations along the way since Hunter was really getting into it. We wished we could spend more time in the countries, but it was time to get in line for the Candlelight Processional. We had done the package at Le Cellier so we didn’t have to stand in line half the day! It was covered on the dining plan so we were very glad that we did this. As we walked towards the American Pavillion Megan was getting more and more bored with each step. It’s day 5 and she’s so into the characters that she just wants to spend the day with Minnie and Donald and ride the occasional boat! So as we marched through WS Megan is repeating over and over and over “Minnie, Donald, boat” , “Minnie, Donald, boat” (insert whiney cry). So, what’s a mom to do? Give that girl her pacifier! Dave and I get in line and mom takes the kids over to see the drummers in Japan. The timing worked out perfectly. We got in line around 4:30 and they let us in right as the drummers finished up.

I was worried that the kids were not going to be able to sit through the show since its 45 minutes, but I really wanted my mom to see this show. It filled up about half way with our line and then they opened up the standby line. I couldn’t see the end on the line. It wrapped around the lake. The people just poured in. I don’t know if everyone got in. It’s worth seeing the 5:00 show because if you’re in line for the 6:00, you can hear the 5:00 show. When the performance started we started bringing out the leftovers for Megan to eat to distract her. The high school choir came down the aisles and it was huge. Then a girl coming down the middle aisle catches my eye. She had blue hair! Ok, fine you’re a teenager and you have blue hair, but you’d think that they would have given the choir guidelines. I saw a couple chewing gum too. When everyone was in place it looked like a big Christmas tree in the middle with one man at the top wearing a big star around his head. I told Dave that could be his job! The entire choir consisted of hundreds of people. It was amazing. Our celebrity reader was Chita Rivera from broadway whom I hadn’t heard of. I was originally bummed that it wasn’t someone I knew, but she was so good. I’ve heard that some of the others are big duds. It was very beautiful and the kids did OK.I just kept giving them food and stuff to draw on. Hunter was bored out of his mind towards the end and laid down on our laps. I am so glad that we did this. It told the true story of Christmas and the music was beautiful. I’m glad that Disney does this. It’s worth seeing at least once.

When it was over we headed towards the American Kidcot station. Santa would be coming out soon so we got in line and Hunter went over to hear the Kwanza storyteller. When she started it was just him, but soon some people gathered around. While in line for Santa Megan, in true Megan style, yells “I gotta go!” Then she did. We couldn’t make all of these poor people and Santa smell her so my mom grabbed Megan, a diaper and wipes and the race was on to get Megan changed and back in line before it was our turn! Well, my mom is not known for her speed, ability to be on time, or sense of direction so I did not have high hopes. Santa comes out and the line is moving right along. Our turn. As I let the group in front of us go ahead Dave spots my mom. Which is good because they had already closed off the line. They didn’t let more than 15 groups in line to meet Santa. I don’t remember what Hunter asked for and Megan was just mesmerized with the whole thing.

Don't pay attention to me. Apparantly I was looking at a whole other camera!

Next up: My most magical moment!

Great update and great pictures. I'm glad you liked the show. Too bad the kids were so bored.

Here I am ALL updated!! YEAH!! Sorry to hear about the temper tatrum, I guess even the best kids have their moments.
Your photopass pictures really came out nice, I have been loving them.
The Mrs. Claus kinda looks like Barbara Bush, no?

My first concert was New Kids on the Block. I love concerts, we are a very musical family. Since seeing New Kids I have been to hundreds of concerts. My mom and Pakey would get along well. She likes a lot of the same.

Sorry it took so long to respond... I'm having issues with this laptop.

My first concert, Tim McGraw and Faith Hill when she was first starting out.

I loved the pictures again!! I am glad you put the story in about the fit Hunter had, it shows you are all human, I was starting to think you were just too perfect :lmao:.

I loved the Santa pictures they were fabulous, Bill loved this pic:

epcot106.jpg

What an amazing picture. I am sorry I haven't posted on here as much as I should, real life has been kicking my behind, but I promise to be around more :grouphug:.

I was pleasantly surprised to find an update this morning to read before leaving town.

Love all the Santa pics! And the Japan drummers are one of my favorites. Glad you were able to see CP and keep the kids occupied. We really enjoyed it also. Funny that you took a picture of the blue hair girl!

The real Santa pictues were just fabulous! I don't have one picture of Sam with Santa as she was always too afraid to go up to him. Now she is too shy. :sad2:

No, Celine Dion doesn't count!:rotfl: (JK Celine fans!)

I haven't seen many concerts.:sad2: I did like Fleetwood Mac a couple of years ago. And the big one in highschool, Bon Jovi and Skid Row!

I haven't read your update yet, but I wanted to post after I read this that I, too, went to see Bon Jovi and Skid Row when they toured together. I want to say that would have been circa 1989/1990, maybe? Too funny! :rotfl2: I had to be pulled out of the front because I was being smooshed! I tried to play it cool, but was scared to death actually!

Last concert I went to was the Police in Madison Square Garden in NYC. Shawn took me up there in August last year.

Now I'm going to read your update and I'll be back.

Sara

Great update Monica! Love those Santa pics, especially the last one with the two kids talking to the big guy! Too funny about you looking in the other direction in the family one! :rotfl2: Hello? Monica? Over here!

You didn't know Chita Rivera? From West Side Story? Chicago? She's a legend! :confused3 I guess I'm a bit of a musical theater person. We had David Robinson - the basketball player! Like you with Chita Rivera, I was like Huh? I had to ask Shawn if he knew him. I was really hoping for Kirk Cameron or Gary Sinise; but Mr. Robinson turned out to be wonderful (haven't gotten to that in my trip report yet) ;)

Can't wait for your most magical moment of the day! :goodvibes

Thanks! 45 minutes is pretty long for a little kid, but they really can't shorten it.

 Yes, I guess she does. I've been wondering what's she's been up to!

Is it an HP?!:rotfl:

Have a good trip! How did Sam do during the CP? Actually she just showed up in the picture. I should have taken one when she walked past me. It was REALLY blue!:scared1: I was so happy with the Santa pics on Photopass. Megan cried last Christamas w/ Santa, but this year she saw him as just another character!

 I guess I thought my mom was taking a picture! I'm not up on the Broadway scene. Sorry! I think I heard that Gary Sinese wasn't very good. Or maybe it was Andie McDowwel. (Don't ask how I can get these two mixed up!) Anyway, it was a big name that is very dry in there reading. Chita really got into it and it was heartfelt. She also sang all of the songs with the choir.

My most magical moment...:lovestruc I can't wait to share! (You guys will probably be like, WHAT?! That's her magical moment? But to me, it was unforgetable....

Mine was Janet..... Miss Jackson if you're nasty!

:rotfl:
My first concert was New Kids on the Block. I love concerts, we are a very musical family. Since seeing New Kids I have been to hundreds of concerts.

They just announced on the Today show this morning that New Kids on the Block are getting back together and will be perfoming live on the Today show May 16th.

I saw my first 2 concerts in the same week, Rick Springfield and Corey Hart :cool2:

I gotta see that! I'd love to hear their songs again! Hangin Tough!

Rick Springfield was back on General Hospital for awhile. He isn't aging too well!

I forgot that I saw Brooks n Dunn last summer. But in Cincinnati the concert to go to is JIMMY BUFFET!! Sounds weird, but it is a fun time!

I didn't know she was going back on tour.

*Are you and Scott going to be at Disney at the same time? I just noticed your tickers. I didn't realize you had a pre trippie until yesterday!
her new cd comes out April 29th and heard she might tour. I hope so.
only 1 day we are there.

Scott's leaving the day after I get there, so we're going to have to meet up the night I get there. Or maybe I'll head over to Beaches and Cream and have a No Way Jose with Scott!!:lmao:
ooh that sounds yummy. u let me know where u want to meet. DTD or B&C.

Monica, I promised myself I was not going to dis this morning but then saw your update and the force was too strong. I was sucked in again.

Major kudos for your children for sitting through the Candlelight Processional. While I think it's an amazing show, I would have been bored at their age too. Last time we went, we had Jim Caviezel, it was the year Passion of the Christ had released. He was so good and so emotional that I can't bring myself to go back and hear anyone else.

And I love that Japan drum show. My favorite show at the World Showcase.

Glad Megan's diaper disaster didn't make her miss seeing Santa and Mrs. Bush.

Is that a LGMH I see hanging there on Hunter? Between that and his crocs, he's definitely a way cool mini dude there.

Monica

I love the pictures of the kids with Santa! I was kind of like Hunter at CP ...After the first 20 minutes I was ready to get up and move....ride something...see a character. It was a good show , just too long for me.

Keep those updates coming. You have to finish this TR before time to do the next!

BTW..my first concert was Rush. My last concert was BB King. However this weekend we are going to the Freakout Fest in Newports Southgate house.:scared1: Wish me luck! I'm too old for this !:goodvibes

I was there!! June of '89. I just turned 12. I can remember meeting the guys in Skid Row and being star struck. It just doesn't have that effect on me anymore when I meet a celebrity.:confused3

Look at me making plans without letting you in on them...

I just don't want to throw a wrench into your plans. Maybe I should just call you when I get there.:rotfl:

Yes I decorated my children with LGMG's!!!

I remember reading that part of your report. It is long. Now that will be an interesting report! Have a great weekend you party animal!

You met them!:lovestruc I agree! I have NO desire to meet a celebrity now, but I remember stalking Firehouse in the mall when they played Cincinnati when I was in high school!

Loved the updates. Your incident wasn't so bad. Your a great mom and no should judge us just because were not perfect every minute. I had one of those incidents at Pop and people are probably still laughing. I had it with Thomas and him just being a pain and not cooperating. I will include it in trippie. BTW Le Cellier is excellent, we love it! Love the Chocolate mouse I have never been able to find the Brother bears in Canada. Cute pics of the kids and Santa. Looking forward to hearing all about your magical moment.

My First Concert was Madonna when I was 13, don't laugh  .

Can we make time go faster, I want to be there now.

Wow, this is the part I was hopping you'd get to soon. :thumbsup2 Can you give me some more details on the Candle light Processional dinner package that you did. I honestly have never heard of it. (never researched this time of year before). What would you do differently if anything?:thumbsup2
