Disney Bells and Pixie Dust! Our Practically Perfect Vacation!*Thanks for reading!

We had a great time with the characters and as we exited guess who was setting up? It’s the Jammitors! We watched them bang away on the garbage cans. A fun time and a great potential Disney job for my kids! They’re great at making noise! When they were finished they passed out junior Jammitors in training stickers. I wanted to keep them nice to scrapbook with, the kids wanted to wear them. Oh well!

Love the Jammitors! Saw them for the first time in February!

Megan loved the seagulls. They spoke her language! “Mine, Mine, Mine!”

These two pictures are great - so cute!

Then it was question time. Little girl asks about what turtles eat, little boy forgets his question, and then Crush says, “Little dude in front with the black shirt.” Uh Oh! I get that mixed feeling of “Cool, he called on Hunter!” and “What the heck is Hunter gonna say?!” We get this feeling a lot during children’s moment at church! Hunter says, “So, what’s it like being a turtle?” Everyone laughs, and Crush seems a little surprised by the question, but recovers quickly. It was funny. I’m actually really glad that Hunter’s not shy. Most of the time!

Awww - so cute! You got off good with that question - I've heard stories of kids asking some crazy ones.

Great picture!

Then I see that they have a golden retriever with them. Oh cool! We get to ride Soarin with a dog!

That is so cool!

Next up: The incident that caused be to become "that mom"

Uh Oh! :scared1:

You know way back when (like in 2007) I remember you posting "we rode Soarin with a dog" as a teaser to your report, and I thought oh, she must mean the seat next to her was empty so Hunter let his stuffed Pluto dog or Goofy dog (or some other stuffed animal dog) ride! :lmao:

Never in a million years did I think you meant an ACTUAL DOG! :rotfl2: I would have been scared to death that it would have tried to get out of the seat! That's hysterical! :rotfl:

Seriously?
A dog?
On Soarin?
Amazing!

Love the pics of the kids in front of the Seas. :goodvibes

"What's it like being a turtle?" Great question.

Can't wait to hear your "that mom" story! Does Mommy Dearest show up at Epcot? :confused3

Sara

Great update! :thumbsup2 I wish you had a pic of the golden retriever :rotfl:

So who did what to make you be "that mom"

He was very pretty, but wore a sign asking not to be pet because he was working.

I would have loved to ride with a dog.

You 'that mom' I can't believe it.

Thanks, but it's true.:sad2: However, just for a moment!

Great update! I have never ridin Soarin', but it is definitely on my list for the next trip!

I also the Living with the Land boat ride. Seems kinda cheezy to alot of people, but for some strange reason I enjoy it.:confused3 I don't even garden or eat vegetables!

I'm always surprised when I read about people not liking Soarin. We thought it was fun. However, I would not wait 90 minutes for it!

Please tell me you have a picture of this golden retriever  riding Soarin! That is just crazy. I would think the service animal would wait for them by the ride exit. Loved your Seas with nemo pics and living with the land pics. My DD is reading along with me tonight and she thinks Megan is adorable!! I can't wait to hear about the"incident", thought these things only happen to me.

He may have waited outside, I didn't see what isle they were in, but then some of his party would have missed the ride. I'm assuming that's what they were discussing with the CMs.

Hi Kaylee!:) Megan is cute, but she is a big STINKER!! Have I told you all that she calls my mom PawPaw? My mom won't correct her because she thinks it's cute! It's funny!

Isn't it nice to know that it happens to everyone? That's why I get so aggrivated when people make comments about how you shouldn't take young kids to Disney because they saw the kid crying and not enjoying themselves. That's one brief moment out of a week of memories. That's why I'm going to tell this story!

Awww - so cute! You got off good with that question - I've heard stories of kids asking some crazy ones.

Look at Michelle multi quoting! I still don't know how to do that!:confused3 Yes, Hunter's question was a cute one. I was more the way he asked it.

Ok guys. I don't think the dog really rode in the seat! I was just picturing it that way! Sorry for the lack of clarification! He was somewhere in there, I just don't know where they actually put him!

Let's just say I'm probably mentioned in a thread somewhere on these boards!:rolleyes1

great update and pics.

I love Soarin'. turned out to be one of my favorites.

Photopass pics look really nice. :thumbsup2

I loved talking with Crush and I'm so glad Hunter got to ask a question. I always want to ask a question but they never call on the old people. :confused3

And that's way cool about the retriever on Soarin. A woman on my staff was a regional leader for guide dog training and we used to have guide dogs at work every day. It's so hard not to get attached to them--they are such great dogs.

I loved Megans little pony tails too. She's just so cute.

Great update. Do you think you'll be able to finish this TR before the next trip?:confused3 :lmao:

I love the picture of just you and Dave together. Is that the first one of those that you have posted? Very sweet!

I hated it too that we didn't get to meet up that day! Yes we only live 30 minutes from each other but we still haven't gotten together. Oh well ...maybe someday.

Hi Scott!

What would you ask Crush? Yes, I'm very happy that Megan is FINALLY getting hair for me to fix!

:rotfl: I would hope so, but I guess that's up to this dumb computer!

Yes, that's the first pic of just us. It took 5 days before we wanted to be away from our children! I feel like I progressively look worse every day! By the last day I hate the pics of me!

Hi Monica-

I linked here from your new PTR. This is a great TR! I just read it in it's entirety, with my dd-3. We will be in the world at this same time this coming year (as you will be too). I love seeing your photo's and I am cluing into your tips. You have a beautiful family. I really love that you took grammy with. I lost my 'mom' this fall...the day after returning from a mom and son trip this Oct. Cherish those memories you have and cherish the beautiful photos from this family adventure. I look forward to reading about the rest of your trip.

Hi Jen! Thank you for your kind words. I hope we get to meet up with you this Dec. So sorry about your mom. We lost my Grandma a year ago today. This trip was just what my mom needed. There's such a hole without her, but we have the BEST memories. Have you been to Disney at Christmastime before? It is beautiful.

Fantastic installment!! I loved the pictures as usual. How great that Hunter got to talk to Crush!! I love the Soarin story!! I can't wait for the next installmentpopcorn::.

:yay: I'm all caught up! I'm glad you're back... I missed ya around here!

You have a new PTR? :confused3

I do, I do!!! See, you've missed alot! Watcha doin in Dec?:rolleyes1

Some of us DISers are going to Disney Dec 4-8. We're planning away in our pre trippie! It's called DIS girls take on The World! (I think that's what I named it!) The more the merrier!:wizard:

So we exit The Land and head over to ride Figment. This is a cute ride, but I can see why people don’t like it. I just hope that they don’t eliminate Figment if they decide to get rid of this ride. The kids liked it. Hunter hates the skunk part though! Afterwards we played in the pavilion for a bit. Not crowded, but all of the computers were spoken for so we didn’t get to play around with the picture of ourselves. Not a big deal. I hear that people don’t receive their emails from there half the time anyway! We head out and start looking for Figment. We follow the signs and he’s in the building hanging out alone with his NASTY handler. Megan was a little apprehensive to approach Figment so the handler says, “Go on!” (insert nasty tone). Well, I bit my tongue because I wanted to bop this women in the nose! Hey! If you don’t like kids, don’t work at Disney!!! I was not happy. (We’ll blame this woman for what’s coming up next!) It was funny though because Megan could see Figment’s reflection in the glass so she thought there were two Figments and she kept looking at the reflection instead of the real Figment! We were all laughing. She was so confused! When we leave Figment we still have 45 minutes until our ADR at Le Cellier, but we decide to head over that way. I was getting really hungry so Hunter and I decide to share a Mickey head bar…
Hunter HATES the skunk smell!

So Dave and mom sit down on a bench. They don’t want anything so Hunter and I go over to the ice cream cart. The girl tells me that we don’t have any snack credits left. We should have 8! Well, Dave had used them to get cinnamon rolls that morning! He thought that they would be a breakfast! So Dave fails Dining Plan 101!! Not a huge deal, so I give Hunter the ice cream so I can pay. When I get over to him he has eaten more than half of it already! I take two bites and he freaks out because I’m eating too much! Well, I snapped! I had had it with the ungratefulness and the whines. I said “I’m done! Here!” I got up and walked away. Let Dave and my mom deal with it for awhile. So Hunter comes running after me hysterically, crying and screaming holding the dripping ice cream trying to make me eat it! People were staring and I was at my wits end with this child! I don’t even know why he was so upset! I told him to just throw it away and that just made him cry harder. So we walked all the way to Canada with Hunter having an absolute fit. I finally get him calmed down, but he had those little gasps that they get after a temper tantrum. It was AWFUL! I could have left this part out of my report because it certainly isn’t me at my finest, but I want people to see that just because you see a family having a rough moment don’t judge. This doesn’t mean that we shouldn’t have brought our kids to Disney or that we’re bad parents. This was a wonderful, magical trip with just a few snags. That’s life!

So, on with the show! Somehow in the midst of this chaos, Megan fell asleep! We haven’t ever taken the time to really look around the countries. Canada is beautiful. The gardens were gorgeous and I just kept taking pictures. It’s definitely worth touring during the day so you can see the country’s gardens and buildings. We located the restaurant and saw that it was right next to the Kidcot station so Hunter started his mask. This worked out so we all could sit quietly and collect our thoughts! Hunter got some time to himself which he needed. I checked us in and asked if I would be able to bring Megan’s stroller in, and they said OK. We were seated right around our ADR time.

Don't look at me. Look at the breadsticks!

epcot090.jpg

epcot093.jpg

It’s very cozy inside. Our waiter was very nice and we enjoyed the breadsticks. Hunter loved the pretzel ones, but the sour dough were very hard. Mom and I got the potato soup. It was good, but not any better than O’Charley’s or other restaurants like that. Dave got the beef and barley soup and liked it fine. For our entrée I got the filet mignon, & cream cheese mashed potatoes. It was very good. Mom got some kind of steak and mashed yams and really enjoyed it. She loved the yams and saved some for Megan. Dave got New York Strip w/ Yukon potatoes and liked it. Hunter got the combo meal w/ pizza, raw carrots, and brown sugar apples. Unfortunately, this prevents the child from ordering a desert w/ the dining plan, but it worked out. He didn’t like the apples so I kept them for Megan. For desert my mom got some apple, pumpkin crumble thing and she loved it. I got the moose and gave most of it to Hunter and he loved it. Dave got the crème brulee which was very very good. At one point my mom asked for salt and the waiter looked at her funny. He said Ok, but I won’t tell the chef! He said most people don’t ask for salt! We teased her and said people were looking at her when she was salting her food. (She salts everything.) About 2 minutes later I hear someone else ask for salt! It was funny. Megan slept through the whole meal which was kind of nice. We would definitely eat here again.

Next up: A touching performance and Megan’s chant!

Another update Monica - yay!!!

Samantha hates the skunk smell on Figment too. She'll hold her nose everytime we get to that part.

Glad you got to meet the "real" Figment (except for the nasty handler). We've never been able to see him. How funny that Megan was looking at the reflection in the mirror!

Thanks for sharing your moment. I think we've all had these and if you say you haven't your probably lying!

Love the Canada pictures. Le Cellier sounds great! Is Hunters tongue pointed?

I don't know what you are talking about, Michelle, I have NEVER had a moment like that! :rotfl2:

Truly though, I agree that it is good to put in the good, the bad, AND THE UGLY in a trip report! Full disclosure, right? So nice of you to share your chocolate mousse with Hunter! That's true love right there!

We have never met Figment and I love that moon too! Of course I really like Eric Idle because I enjoy some of the classic Monty Python! You have to be in the right frame of mind to really enjoy it though.

Anyways, loved the update and am looking forward to the next one! :goodvibes

Sara

Um, Sara, I'm pretty sure that I can copy and paste from your report and prove you wrong! I believe it was also at Epcot! What is it about that place? Too big maybe?

There were quite a few if I recall...but I'm gonna stick with complete denial! ;) I AM the perfect mother! :stir:

Sara

Oh the shame, making a child cry at Disney. I could never do that. :rolleyes1

hey sometimes these things happen and I am glad you left it in the report it happened so why leave it out.

The pics looked great. Keep the Figment character ones, he is gone from what I read.

Glad u liked Le Cellier I am eating there and I cannot wait.

Great update. :thumbsup2
