So we exit The Land and head over to ride Figment. This is a cute ride, but I can see why people dont like it. I just hope that they dont eliminate Figment if they decide to get rid of this ride. The kids liked it. Hunter hates the skunk part though! Afterwards we played in the pavilion for a bit. Not crowded, but all of the computers were spoken for so we didnt get to play around with the picture of ourselves. Not a big deal. I hear that people dont receive their emails from there half the time anyway! We head out and start looking for Figment. We follow the signs and hes in the building hanging out alone with his NASTY handler. Megan was a little apprehensive to approach Figment so the handler says, Go on! (insert nasty tone). Well, I bit my tongue because I wanted to bop this women in the nose! Hey! If you dont like kids, dont work at Disney!!! I was not happy. (Well blame this woman for whats coming up next!) It was funny though because Megan could see Figments reflection in the glass so she thought there were two Figments and she kept looking at the reflection instead of the real Figment! We were all laughing. She was so confused! When we leave Figment we still have 45 minutes until our ADR at Le Cellier, but we decide to head over that way. I was getting really hungry so Hunter and I decide to share a Mickey head bar
Hunter HATES the skunk smell!
I love this moon!
Megan had a great time playing with the fountain!
See Megan looking at the window?!
So Dave and mom sit down on a bench. They dont want anything so Hunter and I go over to the ice cream cart. The girl tells me that we dont have any snack credits left. We should have 8! Well, Dave had used them to get cinnamon rolls that morning! He thought that they would be a breakfast! So Dave fails Dining Plan 101!! Not a huge deal, so I give Hunter the ice cream so I can pay. When I get over to him he has eaten more than half of it already! I take two bites and he freaks out because Im eating too much! Well, I snapped! I had had it with the ungratefulness and the whines. I said Im done! Here! I got up and walked away. Let Dave and my mom deal with it for awhile. So Hunter comes running after me hysterically, crying and screaming holding the dripping ice cream trying to make me eat it! People were staring and I was at my wits end with this child! I dont even know why he was so upset! I told him to just throw it away and that just made him cry harder. So we walked all the way to Canada with Hunter having an absolute fit. I finally get him calmed down, but he had those little gasps that they get after a temper tantrum. It was AWFUL! I could have left this part out of my report because it certainly isnt me at my finest, but I want people to see that just because you see a family having a rough moment dont judge. This doesnt mean that we shouldnt have brought our kids to Disney or that were bad parents. This was a wonderful, magical trip with just a few snags. Thats life!
So, on with the show! Somehow in the midst of this chaos, Megan fell asleep! We havent ever taken the time to really look around the countries. Canada is beautiful. The gardens were gorgeous and I just kept taking pictures. Its definitely worth touring during the day so you can see the countrys gardens and buildings. We located the restaurant and saw that it was right next to the Kidcot station so Hunter started his mask. This worked out so we all could sit quietly and collect our thoughts! Hunter got some time to himself which he needed. I checked us in and asked if I would be able to bring Megans stroller in, and they said OK. We were seated right around our ADR time.
Hunter post-meltdown
Don't look at me. Look at the breadsticks!
Its very cozy inside. Our waiter was very nice and we enjoyed the breadsticks. Hunter loved the pretzel ones, but the sour dough were very hard. Mom and I got the potato soup. It was good, but not any better than OCharleys or other restaurants like that. Dave got the beef and barley soup and liked it fine. For our entrée I got the filet mignon, & cream cheese mashed potatoes. It was very good. Mom got some kind of steak and mashed yams and really enjoyed it. She loved the yams and saved some for Megan. Dave got New York Strip w/ Yukon potatoes and liked it. Hunter got the combo meal w/ pizza, raw carrots, and brown sugar apples. Unfortunately, this prevents the child from ordering a desert w/ the dining plan, but it worked out. He didnt like the apples so I kept them for Megan. For desert my mom got some apple, pumpkin crumble thing and she loved it. I got the moose and gave most of it to Hunter and he loved it. Dave got the crème brulee which was very very good. At one point my mom asked for salt and the waiter looked at her funny. He said Ok, but I wont tell the chef! He said most people dont ask for salt! We teased her and said people were looking at her when she was salting her food. (She salts everything.) About 2 minutes later I hear someone else ask for salt! It was funny. Megan slept through the whole meal which was kind of nice. We would definitely eat here again.
Next up: A touching performance and Megans chant!
