Disney balloons?

We buy them in the evenings and that way we have them in the room for the kids to enjoy there.

and you didnt even touch on how much they cost.

We will take a picture of the person holding all the balloons and photo shop grand daughter there

They will actually allow you to pose your grandaughter holding the balloons. That makes a really cute picture. While it looks like your granddaugher is holding the balloons, they are off to side safely holding on too. And, you can ask the photopass people to take a magic shot of her holding balloons.

Have fun! Karen

best to buy them as you leave the park for the day as they are a pain to carry around all day even tied to a stroller always bobbing something with them.

Stupid people buy the balloons when they enter the park, non stupid people buy the balloons when they exit the park, really smart people don't buy the balloon at all. Some day, I want to be the person that buys all of the balloons, and just let them all go free.

I think most people who don't have a stroller or something to tie them to simply wait until they're almost ready to leave the park before purchasing them. Another problem is what to do with them when you have to leave for the airport. I've heard of people giving them away to a child on their last day since it can't go on the airplane. A little pixie dust for a small child is always nice!;)

This happened to us in March. It was our first night and my girls were swimming in the pool at POP when a mom and her dd came up to me asking if my daughter was the one with the blue goggles in the pool (at first I was thinking she did something to this girl) and the little girl picked my daughter to give her balloon to. My dd was SO excited and very thankful...we held onto the balloon for our vacation and then on our last day (8 days later) my dd gave her balloon to another little girl.

pixiedust: that would be so magical

All 3 of my kids spent their own money to buy a balloon while we were there last month. Two got the Mickey head balloons and the other got a princess balloon (it was lavendar shaped kind of like a flower). We bought them while leaving MK on the first day. We left them in the room on the last day. I wish I had thought of giving them to someone else. That would have been so much fun! When we bought the three of them, they charged $10 each.

party: How fun would that be? If I were to buy them all I think I'd hand them all out to random strangers. :goodvibes Spread the wealth!

Apparently I'm the stupid one. I was reading some of the replies to my older kids, and my little guy pipes up, "I want a balloon!" :rolleyes2 Me and my big mouth.

Hah I have no concept of the price point on these balloons! :)

I currently have two balloons in the condo we are staying at. :) Purchased on the way into MK Tuesday and they made it nice and easy to identify our rental stroller all day! The Mickey head inside the clear balloon was $10, and the glittery Tinkerbell that lights up and is already halfway deflated was $15. They will probably go back to Atlanta with my MIL who is driving, rather than deflating them and bringing them back to NY with us. When we stayed at the Poly last year, we gifted our balloons and made some kids very happy.

My DSs want the Mickey head inside the clear balloon every trip. I chalk the $10 each up to the total cost of the trip at this point. It's assumed and thoroughly enjoyed. We usually get it on the way out of MK on the first day we go there and it stays nicely in our room until it's time to check out. On our final morning, we try to find a family that's checking in to give it to. Seeing the face of a child that has all that Disney anticipation built up already take a Mickey balloon is honestly almost better than the enjoyment my own family gets out of it.

(On a similar note, we do the same thing with pool noodles We bring them with us in our luggage and gift them to someone on our final trip to the pool. Makes someone happy AND frees up some luggage space for all the souvenirs!)

The smartest people of all are those that sell the balloons !!

Last trip I was sitting waiting for the parade, and I was looking at the balloons, wondering how much a bouquet of balloons cost. Then I started to imagine myself buying the balloons and handing them out to the crowd. Imagine my surprise, when the CM selling them gave my DD her choice of balloon! (She picked the mauve princess mylar) Later that day, DD passed it on to another child. This litle girl was crazy about the princesses, so she was thrilled to get her own princess balloon.

But that's the reason balloons aren't allowed at the Animal Kingdom Lodge or at Animal Kingdom. Animals don't understand what balloons are and will attempt to eat them which could potentially harm or even kill the animal.

I cringe every time I see a balloon floating away wondering if it's going to land in a stream or a field and an animal will find it. And don't even get me started on "festive" occasions when balloons are intentionally released.

Off the soap box now, you can return to the balloon discussion. Thank you.

My niece had a balloon last year, Delta allowed her to take it on the plane. It stayed for a long time in her room. We leave for Disney tonight and may get one for DD but we are driving.

And I bet your the life of the party, right?:sad2:

My DD's got a lovely princess one 5 years ago when they were 2 and 3, we bought it at the end of our MK day. We got back to our room and somehow I put a tiny puncture in it :guilty: I quickly patched it up with some sticky tape I had in my case and poor Ariel had a plaster (bandaid) over her arm the entire holiday :rotfl: We stayed 14 nights so definitely got our value out of it and my kids always say "remember when you put a hole in Ariel's arm Mum?" :lmao: A small but nice little memory for them :goodvibes

I've promised them a Mickey head one this time (we are staying 18 nights this time).

So having them in the room the whole trip really works for your "ooh I want a pretty balloon" brain?

I'll have to think about that...I hadn't thought about enjoying it in the room. Hmm.

(seriously, I want a balloon)

We ususally buy the balloon before we leave the parks for our afternoon break.. We always joke and say its the world's most expensive balloon!:rotfl: i could be wrong but i remember spending close to $20! lol
