Disney at Halloween

We are going on the Disney cruise on Nov. 2 but are flying out a few days early. We will get there on the evening of Oct. 30th and staying at FW cabins for 2 nights and then POR the night before the cruise. We go to WDW all the time and wanted this trip to be different. The only thing we have scheduled so far in the MNSSHP on Oct. 31st. Other than that, our plans are wide open.
Since we've never stayed at FW we were wondering if there would be enough to do there during the day of Halloween? Besides MNSSHP, what other Halloween activities are there at WDW? Is it possible to trick or treat at the resorts or DTD? We also have the whole day of Nov.1st open. Any suggestions of what to do besides the parks?

Oh my gosh...there is so much stuff to do at Fort Wilderness on Halloween. It is probably the best resort to be at for any major holiday. All of the people decorate their sites, so it is really cool to go on a golf cart around to all of the different camp sites.
Also, they have a haunted carriage ride, which is amazing. However, it does book up pretty quickly, so I would get on that.
You can have dinner at Trail's End or do the Hoop Dee Doo Review. The food is so good.
They have a petting zoo and horseback riding that you can do during the day. They also rent out bikes, fishing poles, and other cute games to play in your spare time. They have boat rentals and fishing excursions down at the marina. If you have a child between 5 and 12, they can go on a Pirate Cruise where they hunt for buried treasure (this is only offered on certain days).
There will be lots of games and halloween related activities by the pool that are hosted by the recreation CMs. At night, they play a movie, have a sing along, and you can make smores.
I am sure that there is so much more that I am missing. But this is the jist of it. Fort Wilderness is AMAZING!!!!
