Please forgive me MODS if I am posting in the wrong forum.....However my family and I are trying to plan a vacation together & the oddity is we work together so the only time we can vaca together is our Christmas shutdown....

So exactly Just how CRAZY is Christmas week??? Will we get anything done?...and how long are the wait times..

Any input is appreciated,

Lisa

It is the busiest week of the year. Make sure you have FP set up and ADR set up. Get to the parks at rope drop. MK will close to capacity most of the week, especially Christmas day. However, it is beautiful, and magical!

We LOVE Disney at Christmas. We get all the Christmas parties and craziness at school and home finished and then are able to kick back and relax for the holiday.
Yes, there are lots of people at the parks, but with FP+ you should be able to get on your favourite rides no problem. Last Christmas Eve DH and DS2 went to Universal for the day and then went to DHS at 5 PM and they were able to walk on to Star Tours!
The food court where we stayed last year (POR) was not busy at all, except at breakfast time. Christmas morning we had a quiet pool all to ourselves.
The craziness is all relative. Compared to rush hour on the subway in Beijing, it's not crowded at all! :thumbsup2

Thank You all for your responses, I have been searching other forums as I was sure the question has been asked before... We (my family) aren't Disney newbies at all.. however my brothers family is....Like I said it was the only time we can all go together so be it...

Going to try for OKW , I think the only thing I have going for me is I am planning 1yr & 1/2 out.....tick tock ...

Thank You Again!

We are considering a December Disney World trip and wondering about crowds too. Would the first few weeks of December be crazy busy too?

I went 2 weeks before Christmas and it was great. Low crowds and Christmas Cheer everywhere! We even took an afternoon and rode the busses around to several resorts just to take in the decorations.

we did our first visit over Christmas/New Year in 2010, going again this year. With your experience, you'll have no problems at all. As long as you don't want to do ride after ride after ride and adjust your expectations, you'll have a ball. Early morning on the 26th is brilliant by the way!!
