Hello everyone! I am trying to create my own apron and am looking for a cute Disney fabric to use, but I also would like it to be thick enough for an apron. Anyone have any ideas of where I can find such a fabric?? Thanks!

Most all of the Disney fabrics I have seen have either been cottons--quilting or outfit weight--or fleece. Fleece definitely will not work, of course. The cottons are probably too light weight but usuable if you layer them on top of another fabric--duckcloth or heavy weight cottons. Fusible interfacing or wonder under could adhere the fabrics together.

Good Luck!

When I have been dissatisfied with Disney fabrics in the past (I generally find the fabric to be too loud, or the print too large), I have tried to create items 'inspired by' Disney using non-Disney fabrics.

I used black calico fabrics and red/white polka dot fabric to make this Minnie Mouse "inspired" purse for a friend! I cut a mouse-head shape out of the red fabric and used iron-on adhesive to create my own applique. You could definitely do something similar with an apron! That would allow you to choose more apron-friendly fabrics if necessary.

Also, check the ribbon section - I have found cute Disney ribbon in the past, which could be used to accent an apron made from non-Disney fabrics.

You could also use buttons to make Mickey head shapes! So many possibilities!
