My husband upgraded his phone to a smart phone earlier this year. Is it worth getting the Disney app for when we are in the parks?

It seems like it would be helpful if the wait times, etc are accurate. I also got a droid this year and will download it on that as well. There are menus, maps (I think), wait times, facts, etc. I have the free version, which I think is the same as the paid except there are ads. If anyone has already used it in the parks, maybe they can give additional info.

I just got new smartphone saturday it uses the Andriod market to download apps. I got Disney World by Undercover Tourist and it gives the ride times and hours of the parades and things. Best part it was FREE!

If you go to the website, m.disneyworld.com, it will give you a lot of information. The site will even give some wait suggestions. It breaks the attractions into three categories: See Now, Moderate, and High Demand.

I did not see any maps, though.

I have the app from Undercover Tourist. I didn't realize there was one from Disney itself. I have the Optimus LG, and it looks like I can't use the one put out by Disney either.

I downloaded that for my Droid 2 as well. It was nice because if we decided to park hop, we knew what parks were busy/slow. The fact that it was free was nice too :thumbsup2

I have Mouse Wait on my Droid X, we used it a lot last week at DLR, it was accurate most of the time. :) Oh and it was free too, I haven't downloaded anything on my phone that I've actually had to pay for!

It seems like the app is out for a few Blackberry phones and an Android phone (Droid Incredible) according to this site:

(It's about the fifth question down...click on it to reveal the currently compatible handsets)

The thing that sorta surprises me is how they can release it for the Droid Incredible (Android OS 2.1 or 2.2), but they can't release it for other Android OS phones running the same OS???

This is the one I have for mine and it was great! It was free and pretty accurate. At times it was more reliable then the one that DH downloaded for his phone, whihc might have been from UT.

I have the app from UT, used it Xmas week and two weeks ago, very accurate both times.

I have Ride Hopper Lite, and it has wait times for more than just Disney parks available on the free version. There is currently a 45 minute wait for Dumbo....and I know that from the comfort of my home in PA. :D

Looks like it is out for other Android phones. Just got it for $1.99 on my HTC Thunderbolt!

Cool! I was looking at upgrading to the Thunderbolt, but I was going to possibly wait until after our trip to Disney in June just because of the Mobile Magic App.

We used it for our last trip in June 2010 and I found that it came in handy quite a few times. The app is actually connected with Disney's network so that it shows the exact "Stand-By Wait Time" and "Fastpass Return Times" for various rides in the park.

It especially came in handy when we were in the middle of the park and wanted to decide which Fastpass to send a runner for next (We were a party of 18 on that trip). By accessing the actual return time of the Fastpasses being distributed at that moment, we could make a more informed decision without running around the park.

It sounds like a great tool to have in the parks, can't wait til I get to try out the full features in October!

On a side note, you may not want to wait til June for the Thunderbolt. Right now the unlimited 4g data plan is the same as the 3g ($29.99). The people I've spoken with at Verizon don't anticipate that lasting through the summer, and later this year they think the only unlimited data plans will be those grandfathered in from old contracts.

Thanks for the heads up. I was going back and forth between the older Droid Incredible and the New Thunderbolt. I just didn't know if I wanted to spend $250 on another cell phone. The Incredible was not available from Verizon anymore, but I could get it at Best Buy for $99 or Amazon Wireless for $69.

I ended up looking around and Wirefly was running a special that ends today (4/18). They are selling the Thunderbolt for $199 and offer another $50 off with the code Thunder0418. So, the price was $149 with no shipping or tax. I also purchased it going through MyPoints.com which gave me an additional 4000 points. That's good for at least a $25 Gift Card for something (I usually cash in for Landry's Restaurant Gift Cards that can be used at Rainforest Cafe / T-Rex / Yak & Yeti in AK).

So...I pulled the trigger on Sunday and purchased the Thunderbolt.
