From the Parks Blog...
The reimagining of Disney’s Hollywood Studios will take guests to infinity and beyond, allowing them to step into the worlds of their favorite films, starting with the all-new 11-acre Toy Story Land. Guests will become part of the adventurous outdoors of Andy’s backyard, including two new Disney Parks attractions and one expanded favorite.

Toy Story Land Coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World Resort
Family-friendly roller coaster – This coaster will zip and zoom, plunge and coast as it takes guests on a thrilling, toy-filled adventure throughout the new land on the back of Slinky Dog.
Alien saucers attraction – The famous little green aliens from the movie will take guests around for a spin in their very own flying saucers.
Toy Story Mania! – Guests glide into the Toy Story Midway Games Play Set and take aim at 3D objects in a variety of fast-paced games, with an expansion that adds an additional track to this popular attraction.

While I think it s great to finally see change coming up..I'm a little bit disappointed..I would prefer pixar land and build new attractions based on other pixar movies

You know, I was thinking about how there are only 2 attractions getting added, but then I thought about Carsland in DCA. It only had 3 attractions when I went (Mater's Junkyard Jamboree, Luigi's Flying Tires, and Radiator Springs Racers) and I thought it was the best done area of any Disney park. I'm optimistic about this. It might only have 3 ride, but it might end up feeling like a lot more when you are walking around in the area.

Sounds cute. I'd like to hear more about the coaster. I think most people will be disappointed that it is only two attractions.
My expectations were really really low. This blew them out of the water! Most should be happy because they were anticipating nothing but flat rides.

Looking at the picture the "Roller Coaster" looks like it's more likely to be a long slow ride through various Toy Story related scenes, similar to the Radiator Springs Racers in Carsland, if so this will be brilliant.

So It's really a light version of a new land...

That is disappointing on the surface...but to be fair...if they couple it with a well funded Star Wars addition...and continue to work on things as they have in DCA after the major work...

Then it honestly is more than I could have expected from the suits to give to Florida.

Cautiously optimistic...lets talk schedules

Toy story likely done before Star Wars is

Cautiously optimistic...lets talk schedules

They were VERY careful not to give any schedules at all. It was clear we are years away from Star Wars land which is why they're going to have Season of the Force and other distractions. I'm guessing Toy Story Land will be quicker.

But if you were hoping this was a sign Disney would start pushing out new stuff in 18 months... nah. Not happening.

Which will be completed first? Toy Story or Stars Wars?
Sorry....just saw previous post.

Any guess for Toy Story completion date?

I'll also note that having only 2-3 rides anchoring a land is the new standard. And that didn't hurt the Harry Potter expansions. It's all about the rest of the theming.

It depends which one is started first, if they begin building both at the same time I believe they will finish Toy Story Land first as SW Land seems more ambitious.

This is part where we stop...celebrate today...then start working on the roster for next season tomorrow...

As fans...we really should be careful not to let the shields down completley

This is what I don't get: If Disneyland rejected the flying saucers for a second time, why are they building it in DHS? I suppose they've made some sort of new development to make it better than what Carsland had.

I wondered that as well...

Their tires were not good for capacity and prone to breakdown.

But...I can't say much here...I already got "silly, you...they came through" on the Star Wars additions. But that stance was built on assumption in a euphoric $1000 a year annual pass contact high...

One thing this 100% does - I believe - is kill Carsland/RSR for Orlando...
Which is a breaking news of NOTHING... Cause it wouldn't have worked anyway.

There was a claim that after all the R&D for Luigi's Flying Tires, that the ride didn't work because people didn't want to ride around in giant tires. So, let's go back to the
Flying Saucers!

I'm guessing you answered your own question: they are building it in DHS because Disneyland rejected the flying saucers for a second time. :sad1:
