Carol, glad the mom did show up! Must have made it much easier on you all! Sorry about the loss... I remember the days when people said the same about our band! Glad the birthday celebration was good and I hope you feel better soon!!

Merry, get Alan better for his trip. All that laundry should help sweat it out, LOL.

Carol, I forgot to tell ANdrew Happy Birthday, so he gets a belated one from me. It was nice the snack lady showed up, no matter what the kids do or don't do, if parents make a commitment, they really do have to follow through. Lead by example, best way for the kids to see quitting isn't a good option.

Steph, that was good for you to get that sitter and surprise your DH. Gotta shake the guys up once in a while.

I hope LK has a great time camping with the girls. Gail, shame on you for thinking we should talk behind her back! After all, she will catch up, so lets just keep it out in the open!

I am going to a Dis meet today. It will be nice seeing Katholyn again, it's been since Discon II. There will be at least 2 other disers there, one I met in August, and one I havent.

DS has found a vehicle, he hopes that the guy will take his offer of 3K today, (I think he will). He is going to try to get that all done this morning, and then come to the mall with me so he can get shoes whilst I chat. He is leaving in less than 2 weeks, this was a quick trip. ALl of his boxes of stuff came yesterday, his drum set is supposed to be here monday. Now that he will have wheels, he will be able to take all that stuff with him and hopefully a lot of the stuff he left here last time. Oh boy, more room for me!

I snagged another interview for next week. THis one is probably 35 miles away, starts at 28K, and gets a 10% raise each year, they say. It is a receptionist/admn type job for a very large, well known home builder. It's funny, my sister just bought a new house from them! I got feedback from interview number one on Thursday, they rellay liked me and wanted to hire me. They said I was very friendly, articulate, and knew I would fit in. But they understood about the distance and $. But that was nice to hear.

Our football team won last night!! 42-0 The band sounded & loked awesome!!
The weather was beautiful...perfect football weather!!!

This morning I'm going to go shopping at 'Bed, Bath & Beyond' for a wedding shower gift. The shower is tonight from 5-9. I need to stop at Target to exchange something & I might stop at our newest store that just opened this week, Kohl's. I need to make a quick stop off at the pharmacy too..........Wow, that sounds like a lot of errands LOL!

Steph~I'm glad you got to sneak away & have some fun!!

Carol~Glad things went better than expected last night.

Marsha~Enjoy the Dis meet. I had the pleasure of meeting Katholyn in June & I really enjoyed talking with her.

Happy Saturday everyone !

Hope everyone has a great weekend ... sounds like some great plans lined up for a lot of you !

I went to Six Flags last night ... it's open Friday nights and weekends through the end of the month and called Fright Fest ..... they have spiders, cobwebs and fog machines going as well as people dressed up in "scary" costume .....the areas w/ the fog actually were kind of creepy because it really wasn't well lit so it was hard to see .... but it was kind of neat ... I got there when it opened so was able to walk right on to the Superman and Batman coasters within the first 15 minutes --- when I waited about 1.5 hrs to ride them in the summer....I may go once more before they close if we have another really nice Friday night .... it's only 20 minutes from work.

Big game this afternoon .... Go Sox !!!
Would love to see the Rocket Clemons get rocked in his old home park .......we'll see if it happens .....

Steph - wish my DH would ask me to join the group when he goes out . we wanted to go out tonight w/ my GF and her BF, but we can't find any babysitters. We don't have any teenagers on my street. I know our DS had Jessie hats earlier in the week. Let me know if you want me to go there.

Just call me bargain shopper of the day....okay, call me panicked mom of the day.....when I went to TDS online, the jessie hat was 10.50, pricey...but it was exactly what I needed....as you know, I didn't order it in time.....sooooooo...off to Wally World I go (I HATE WM) anyways....found a cowboy hat (same foamy type thing, with the lacing around the edge) with a bandana and badge......the hat is WHITE......soooooooooo....DH is sitting downstairs now, painting the hat with tempera paint...and it's looking pretty cool....bonus was I needed a bandana and a badge for Neil's Woody costume!!! Oh yeah, and the grand total for the three item: $4.97 wooohooo

Late check in....busy day. Our plans have changed for tomorrow since it's going to rain so we'll be home. Planning to watch the Lion King dvd.

Home from my busy day. Cheered for OU and we won the game. Saw the relatives and went out for hamburgers. It was a nice visit.

My kids don't care for DH's cousin's daughter. She is an only child and spoiled. She told our DD last year that she is SO immature because she has different interests. She acts pretty stuck up and it hurts my baby's feelings. Tonight she was full of herself again. So other than that it was a fun time.

Now we are packing DH for his flight. I have to have him at the airport at about 5:30 in the morning for his flight to Orlando. They are getting a private showing of Indiana Jones on Tuesday night and eating dinner on the stage afterwards. I'm so jealous.

No time to catch up on what everyone is doing. I'll check back tomorrow.

Hi all... in a not so very good mood right now. I started off with a good day at the zoo, then I watched LOTR: Fellowship and by the time I got around to posting today, our internet was gone. And then Ohio State lost... really not in a mood to catch up, but I wanted to say hi at least... I'll try to catch up later on. I hope you all had a great day!

Good morning friends

No church today, St. Krispy's or traditional. The kids want to sleep in and I am too sneezy to inflict myself on anyone else.

DD and DS had fun at the dance last night. All of the girls wear sparkles. DD has a can she sprays on her hair. And then her BF comes home "sparkled" from being near her. Well, DS came home sparkled. DD says his necktie was disheveled and he must have been dancing with a girl but she didn't see him. DS does admit to this. I think they all had a good time.

Do any of you have to contend with co-ed sleepovers? They are a big thing here after dances. I just don't feel they are necessary. Both kids had friends who werehosted these. DD and DS have discovered there is no point in asking. They don't seem too upset about missing them. I feel this is just another way that morals are going down the tube.

We are leaving this afternoon for a college visit. DS is staying with his grandparents who will take him to school tomorrow. DD is spending the night in a dorm with a host and DH and I have a motel. Tomorrow we meet up for an Open House on the campus of University of Maryland.

It looks to be a nice day here today. Hope everyone enjoys it. I wonder if LK is enjoying the same nice weather on her camping trip.

Carol, that was one creepy movie. I think I had scary dreams the night I watched it. Hope you feel better soon!

DD came home for the weekend and her and her bridesmaids went shopping yesterday for the dresses. The girls are wearing pastels, each one a different color. Pink, violet, mint green, yellow, and periwinkle.
Ok, I'm taking suggestions. What color dress should the Mother of the Bride wear?

We had an absolutely gorgeous day yesterday. Sunny and 80 degrees. I hope we get a repeat today. I want to wash my car and ride my bike.
