Gail, I know what you are saying. Look how long it has been since the Oklahoma City bombing and the Oklahoma City metro area is still feeling the effects of that. I lost a friend from church that day, and many friends were in the area and had minor injuries. Even after the scars are healed, the wounds remain. {{hugs}}

Hiya!!

I hope everyone is well... it is nearly 1am here and I have no time to catch up - need sleep!

Been so busy today and yesterday... so many things still to organise for Romania (I spoke to one of the girls I am going to meet this morning, that was short and sweet! She was so nervous about speaking English and kept apologising but she was word perfect!!)

Anyways, I wanted to let you know I'm still here and that I will post tomorrow tho' it'll perhaps not be a long one!

Anybody still to send me their address for a postcard? There have been a few returning Angels and TMWLT so perhaps some of you didn't see my invitation, basically, if you want a postcard from Romania (we have a four hour train journey in the middle of it all so I'm sure I'll get plenty of time, don't worry! ) let me have your snail mail addy by PM before Monday morning (Sunday late night for you!) Thanks!

I made it out....thanks for thinking of me Melissa!!! I've cleared out quite a bit of stuff, some to throw away and some to try to sell. We've decided that profits from the yard sale will be put aside for spending money at Disney!

Matt had his game this evening. He pitched 2 scoreless innings and the game had no hits or runs until the top of the 6th inning. Unfortunately it was the other team that scored the runs then but it was a good game with 2 well-matched teams.

Time to get cozy for the evening.

Hi All!
Went to the hospital to visit my friend again today. She's probably gonna be there for at least a few more days...they haven't been able to diagnose her yet. Keep your fingers crossed for her please.
DH built a fire pit in the back yard this afternoon & his whole family came over for a bon fire tonight.
Meg has a friend sleeping over tonight & I'm getting very sleepy.....they aren't though!!!

Lars, did you guys make s'mores or roast hot dogs? Actually, marshmallows are my treat of choice when cooking out. Hope you last as long as the girls. Why can kids stay up so much later than grown ups?

By the way, I'm still praying for your friend. Keep us informed. Hope they have a diagnosis soon.

Amy is at her sleepover tonight. The girls all looked darling! The birthday girl was in a pink vintage dress and cat's eye glasses. I hope they take a lot of pictures.

I'm getting ready to head for bed. Have a busy day tomorrow. We have church in the morning, after picking up our sleepy child from the party.

Then we are taking the boys who hold leadership positions in our Boy Scout patrol to lunch. That is where they make plans for the next few months.

In the evening, the kids are going to youth group. This week they are meeting with the other Episcopal church in town for a scavenger hunt. (That's the church we are planning to switch to in another month, so it's a good chance to make some new friends in advance of the move)

So I may not be around much tomorrow, but I'll check in. Have a great day.

They had a big craft show yesterday, which I love.

Dh and I were awakened at 1:00 a.m. by the phone ringing.(Course that in itself always makes my heart race, thinking right away that something is wrong with one of my kids)
I answer and a male voice sounding a little tipsy, says,"Hey, who's this?" I'm like, YOU called me, who's this? I couldn't understand one word he says. I hang up. Guess What, He calls back! I tell DH to answer this time. He tells this drunken fool, Do Not call this number again. By then we are both wide awake.
It took me forever to fall back asleep.

Good morning all! I had a busy busy day yesterday and by the time I got around to posting at night, my head was pounding from allergy troubles.

Carol, I love your patient's Mickey stuff!!! I wonder if they are a DISer or just a Disney Freak like me WIth the game on Saturday, there were cops directing traffic (yes over 2 miles from the stadium they do that) and one saw my license plate, made two "Mickey ears" with his hands and gave me a thumbs up

Lorraine, I don't do psychics either... I don't know why but it usually bothers me.

Sandy, I hope your weekend (even with just cleaning) was a good one!

Gail, so sorry you are still the pains of what happened with the nightclub... tragic events like that are so hard {{hugs}} Sorry to hear that Matt's team lost too, but sounds like he is one heck of a pitcher!

Melissa, I do hope you get everything you need to get done, done in the next two days. Too funny about your friend with her English. I have found many non-native speakers to speak better English than I do because they remember all the rules and such... at least more than I do

No church for me this morning. I'm taking my DS to the Pirate game today w/ one of my neighbor's and her DS. The day looks a little cloudy and hope the rain holds off until after the game. I better get to eat some nachos!

Sandi - i HATE late night wrong number phone calls. i always have a hard time going back to sleep. i start thinking of different things which keeps me awake.

Hi. Just thought I'd check in on my way to meet the Scouts for pizza. We are taking them to Cici's. Not the best pizza, but they like a buffet so they can eat like teenagers.

Hope the weather is as beautiful where you are as it is here. The sun is shining, the sky is blue and the weather is cool but not cold. I LOVE this time of year!

Hi everyone!

It's been a busy weekend for us so this is a quick visit. Hope everyone is well. Also hoping your friend is diagnosed and gets better soon Laura.

Right now it looks like Hurricane Isabel will be heading right up the mouth of the Chesapeake Bay. Not good news for Carol although it will lose some strength from what it is right now - phew!! Gina & Kimmar will probably experience tropical rain and winds of about 50 mph. This will be on Friday.

If it changes direction and heads further up the coast before making landfall the weather will be worse for NJ & NY & possibly us New Englanders. If it follows this course the impact will be later Friday or early Saturday.

More reports as they happen!!!!!

I just got back from the hospital.....I promised her I'd be there every day until they let her out! No change in the pain yet & still no news about a diagnosis She gets pain meds in her IV every 3 hours & the pain is so bad after 2-1/2 hours she can barely make it to the 3 hour mark for more meds. Thanks for the good wishes & ~~**PD**~~ everyone....please keep her in your prayers.

Elaine-I was LOL at your story about the cop making the Mickey ears to you I needed a good giggle today! Thanks!

Melissa-Have fun with the scouts!

SB-Have a great time at the game & eat a nacho for me!

Gail-I am so glad that Lew is able to keep us informed about the hurricane....I've been thinking about all my east coast friends & keeping my fingers crossed! {{{hugs}}} to all of you in the hurricanes path.

We finally made it to church today. Seems like we haven't been there all summer with all that we have had going on. Logan was nervous about serving because he hadn't done it for so long, but he was fine.

Stopped at the mall on the way home to pick up my Garfield charm that they had ordered for me. It is so cute!

DH spent yesterday and some of today putting up a second shed in our yard. I say "Just get rid of the junk!" but he is a keeper just like his mother.
