...I'm still kinda shocked by the whole thing. You see, HE doesn't even know yet. He has a habit of constantly sniffing, like he has a runny nose. And, he has that occasional head-twitch. So my BR-in-L and Sis-in-L took him to be tested. They told my nephew that it's "allergy" probs, cuz' they don't wanna upset him. My S-in-L had found a lump doing a self-exam (about a yr ago) and it was removed. Three yrs ago, his dad (my B-in-L) was involved in a freak accident with a skill-saw. He was cutting a piece of wood to trim a newly-installed door, when the saw fell over and 4 of his fingers were mangled in the saw. Long-story-short, one of the meds given to him had a side-effect which caused polyps. When he had THAT checked, Drs found a RARE untreatable form of C------ in a dormant form, which he had to have re-examined every 6 mos. Thank God, though, that the last test showed that it is unexplainably COMPLETELY GONE!!! (talk about your major miracles!!)

STEPHANIE!!!
Don't mess with me!!!:p You know that you guys are welcome here anytime you want to come!!

Kimmar,
We had our son tested for the same thing several years ago.....(some of you remember my last episode before school got out)
It's a rather frightening diagnosis.
My oldest DS has nervous twitches, but never combined, which is indicitive of TS.....thus far we've been lucky....we're always a bit nervous when the next one shows up, as DS has some neurological issues at birth....hang in there! (((hugs))) for your family!

yeah I know.....lol....not this year!

Oh I see... as soon as I get busy working y'all become very chatty :p

Kimmar, sounds like they all have been through a lot!!! Sorry to hear about your nephew's diagnosis. I hope things change for the better for them soon!

My eyes are itchy and droopy... no clue why! Maybe I am just allergic to work ;)

I am getting off work as early as possible today to buy grocereis and let DW rest some. She should still be taking medicine.

I don't know that her voice is where it should be, but she is scheduled to sing tonight at 7:00 or so.

We drop the girls off with friends, go to the event, come back and wait for my BIL and his family (wife and four kids) who will be coming to stay with us for the weekend.

They are leaving Redstone Arsenal (Army base) in Huntsville at 7:30, so they should not get here until after 10PM.

Hopefully, the kids will all be sleepy!

Achoo! Achoo!

Stephanie ~
Maybe you can answer this: what is the connection between the *sniff-sniff* and the twitching??

(ooops, be back later, gots an appernt-ment to get a hair cut...ciao!

As it was explained to me.....two or more involuntary actions (i.e. the sniff with a neck twitch) are indicitive of tourette's. One simple involuntary action, such as a nervous twitch, sniffing, eye blinking are not concerning or indicitive of a neurological issue.

The Tourette's Syndrome Assn. has a great website. It is: http://tsa-usa.org

Hope it helps.

I hope the Turrets is mild. In the severe form, it can be very upsetting and life altering. I did have a student once who had a blinking issue and a head twitch that never progressed beyond that. I hope that is the case for your nephew.

In today's mail, I got not one but two great packages from fellow angels!!!

spb sent me a beautiful Boyd's bear angel! (d'uh, I just realized right now the angel connection...:o ) Thanks so much Sandy - "Twinksley" is so cute!!! I had so much fun being your Riddlecon buddy!

My second package was from Gaspode - thanks Melissa! She sent two envelopes for Logan and Leah that I guess I will have to wait until they come home from school to open. She also sent me a Mickey candle, a bubble bath bar (can't wait to try that!), some Ferrero Rocher candy (looks yummy!), and several pamphlets and booklets from her area. Very interesting reading.... I think I will have to plan a trip to visit you one day Melissa!

Thanks so much to both of you for your kindness!:Pinkbounc

Laura, you are one lucky Angel.

Kinmar, prayers for your nephew. How sad.

Diane, I think Jason's is a case of his muscles overpowering his joints, similar to when a pitcher breaks his arm throwing a pitch because his muscles overpower the bone. Just my theory on it. He is not a large person but quite muscular. Apparently he is up and about today in a shoulder immobilizer so hopefully we will go tomorrow, as planned.

I need to go grocery shop before all the boaters start getting in the stores.

Was a great day all the way around for mail!

I got my "Peace, Love, Mickey Mouse" t-shirt that I ordered at disneydeals.com and saved $15 over the cost of the shirt in the park...I'm pretty pleased with that.....it's so cute!

Oh yeah, Mr. Visa Bill came today too, but there weren't any surprises, so that's a good thing.

disneydeals.com? You shouldn't have told me that. Be right back!;)

I couldn' find a "disneydeals" web site. Is it the Disneyliquidator.com?

LOL...LK......there are some really good deals if you know what you are looking for.

This is the shirt I just got......it's too cute:
