we came to Universal 2 years ago(stayed at Hard Rock) and now plan to do disney and they want to come back to Universal but we plan to stay at Disney -should I book a room for one night-or will the express be ok? We'll be there in late July and don't want to stand in lines. also, is there a 1 day, 2 park ticket-can't find one?

The 1 day/2 park ticket is only available at the gate. The express will be necessary if you don't want to wait in line. You don't say how many people are in your party? If it's more than 2, then perhaps it will be more cost-effective to stay onsite as opposed to buying an express pass for each member of your group.

How much is the 1 day/2 park tickets at the gate?

You may want to stay onsite for FOTL since July is peak season and the lines will be long. If you don't want to wait in lines, your only other option would be to buy an express pass which costs $50 each.

They only sell the one day/two park at the gate not online. You can purchase a one day/one park online and later upgrade to the second park at Guest Services. This is often a good idea as you might not have time to get to the second park in one day. If you find you have the time to make it worthwhile to pay for the second park, just got to Guest Services and upgrade before you head over to the other park. It costs $10 plus tax to upgrade to the second park.

A one day/two park ticket at the gate costs $77.75 (this is the total price which includes the tax) If you buy a one day/one park ticket online for $59.75 plus tax (for a total of $63.64) , you can upgrade it for $10.65 (total price) to the two park at Guest Services so you will save a little over $3 that way.

I recommend doing it that way anyway just in case you don't have time to get to the second park. That way you wouldn't have paid for something you couldn't use.

Phamton - Thanks for the great info, I like knowing you purchase the 1 day/1 park ticket and upgrade it if we decide we have time for another park.

Isn't there a one day/ two park at ticketmania? I thought there was and it was like 66 for adults and 56 for kids. Am I wrong?
