Disney and Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade

I saw the new Disney Wish float on today's Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade and it got me to thinking which was the very first Disney associated balloon and float. I do know that in 1987 Macy's had a float with Cinderella to honor Disneyland's anniversary and in 1992 Goofy was a balloon as Santa Goofy and there has been balloons of Bandleader Mickey and Buzz Lightyear and Sea Captain Mickey and Olaf too and Leann Rimes was on a Disneyland float singing Remember When. Has Disney had a long relationship with Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade?
