Disney and dying.

If I want to avoid cigarette ashes I avoid the designated smoking areas. There are no designated areas for the illegal dumping of burned human remains. I wonder why that is, oh yeah it is illegal.

I thought you was done with this thread :confused3

Anyways I dont think anybody who wanted to have their ashes spinkled at Disney is going to expect or ask their loved one to take a whole urn full of ashes! I would think that anybody really wanting to do this would take a very small amount in a container like a few pinches!
The soil i wont pretend to know the exact amount has got lots of remains of dead animals in it!
You was saying about not wanting your child playing in somebodys Ashes I should imagine people have and would sprinkle on flower beds in the Disney gardens "and its against the rules to stand or play on them".........

I would never ask or Expect my Dh to break the law for me. Im having a LEGAL balloon release :)
Of course im very much hoping that nothing happens to me in 2 wks when i have the head surgery for them to have to consider my wishes!! Im very much hoping that i will be going to Disney next time with my children and Dh not as remains...

The fact of the matter is there are people who WILL do this for a loved one and I dont personally have a problem with it,Im positive that there's loads of remains at Disney and other public places that I do not know about,I have seen human remains twice before and Nothing much was left except for dust! I have also been to s scattering "It was planned and very Legal" and to be very honest once the wind took it you could see NOTHING left and in the other part that went into the gardens when sprinkled looked no more then dust!

I'm sure that if I was to ask Disney if I could sprinkle the ashes of a lost one in flower beds near Cinderella's castle. I'm very confident that Disney would make some allowance, such as i'm permitted to hold a personal ceremony when the park has been cleared of guests, or before the park opens to the public.
They have kindly had a gardener part the soil so that the ashes once spread can be incorporated in with the soil so that they don't disperse else where.
Really? I doubt they would allow this.

I am confused by your last sentence - have you in fact done this before, and they have allowed it? Or are you speculating?

:)

I just want to say to the OP that my prayers are with you, and I want nothing more than for you to be able to enjoy that next trip in the land of the living smiling as your children have a wonderful trip!

As for everyone else, I have joked many times about having my ashes spread on the ground beside the view from my favorite resort. I know it won't happen, not even sure how they would get my ashes through security at the airport....doesn't matter. I will be with them in spirit through every visit to my happy place if I'm not with them. Where my remains are makes no difference. An urn shaped like the castle would be awesome though, so I can be at home in my happy place forever!:thumbsup2

And OP, I love the balloon release idea, and when you recover from your operation, you should release one balloon yourself from your favourite spot at WDW to give thanks for being able to be there! Happy, positive thoughts!:thumbsup2

Hi im not actually Op but I am the sick one having the Big Op,

Thankyou so much for your kind words as my Dh said the support I have recieved from Dis boards has been overwhelming.
I adore reading other people TR's and seeing how excited people are about upcoming plans :) It makes me happy to see others as happy as I am when i plan my trips!

I love your idea for the single Balloon release I think im going to do exactly that with my boys "just have to think of my fav spot I have too many":rotfl:
I did marry at the Pavillion so thats very special to me :love:there are a few others too! plus I can send it to my dad & angel babies just a little way to say Im not quite ready to join them yet.....
Yep and Im off the tears are falling (silly me).

Thanks again :flower3:

Hypertheotically speaking i'm afraid.

Hit the wrong key and auto function did the rest:rolleyes1

I guess I'm just a rebel. Yes I would totally spread my loved one's ashes if they asked me too. I'm not trying to make excuses to make myself feel justified. I will just straight up break the law. YES....I would break the law. I'm like the Bonnie and Clyde of human remains. Hold your breath and cover your mickey mouse ice creams!!pirate:

I have a feeling from the look of Dh posts that If i ask him to he would aswell, Right now we have had to struggle with alot and I know that bloke loves the fairy dust off me :rotfl2: and thats why i wont ask

No line to be drawn if it's someone's last wish.

Would you not do it for your child or significant other?

No, because they would be dead. Also, they would not ask me to break the law just to be sentimental.

You mean to tell me that if you lost your most nearest and dearest, their final wish ment you would have to break a law. Let's use some common sense here, were not exactly talking breaking a law that would result in harm to others, damage to property. A law that can and by the sounds of it has been over looked.

I'm starting to notice a can't do attitude with you, time for a new outlook :3dglasses

Putting ashes on/in the ground is damage to property. Putting ashes somewhere as to spoil the use of an attraction for others is causing harm.

A 'can't do' attitude? is that another way of saying, 'someone who won't agree with you about breaking the law'?

Do u people realize how many "remains" are all over disney's grounds? Birds, squirrels, fish, mice, rats ....they die and are not noticed in the landscape and the eventually decay and go back into the earth? If that's someones wish, go for it, just a pinch of ashes won't hurt!! Kids should not be playing in Disney landscaping or swimming in their lakes or ponds anyways..isn't that breaking the rules? Let's let the dead have their wish!!!:rotfl: Even Wyatt Earp broke the law once in awhile!

Anyone in here drive? Anyone in here go well over the posted speed limit when the drive?

Yup. Thought so. Buncha law breakers you lot! ;)

In all seriousness, I know my parents wish is to be cremated when they pass away. I do not know what they want done with their ashes. If they wanted some spread in a Disney park, I'd find a way to make it happen...even though it is illegal.

I'm willing to bet that where (those of) you (who are speaking out so adamantly of breaking the law) have had contact with these bio-hazard ashes in your own cities/states/countries. It's not just at Disney that people want to have their ashes spread. We had a neighbor who passed away and he wanted his remains scattered over the Grand Canyon. I know for a fact that his family made sure that happened.

And I have to say that spreading a loved ones ashes at their favorite place (be it Disney, Grand Canyon, or a local park they loved) is a way better option than the ashes living in a closet for the rest of time (yes, I know someone who chose to buy an urn that looked similar to the old fashion Nestle Quik powdered milk mix and kept it in a box in their closet). Legal or not, I will see to it that my parents wishes on how their remains are to be handled after death are met.

I believe the CANT DO attitude is refering to a bunch of threads responded on!
And plenty of them did not include any law breaking:thumbsup2

How do Ashes Damage property :confused3 if that was the case the whole EARTH would be damaged:lmao:

I totally agree ASHES are EVERYWHERE!! :thumbsup2

well, if i was dying of a disease or something, id take a shot at staying in the cinderella suite.

I am kind of torn on this one. I get wanting your ashes to be spread at Disney World. I have read a few websites where people have been caught spreading ashes at DW and DL. Disney then has to close the ride down until it can be cleaned up. I don't feel that this would be fare to the guests waiting to ride. I agree with the other pp who said it would be nice if Disney had a place where you could do something like this.

Actually I have a very can do attitude I just apply to stuff that matters. Like the 2 1/2 year old in my care that three months ago couldn't walk and now is jumping because I spend hours a day working on it with her. Or my own 2 1/2 year old who has her own gross motor issues and developmental delays that just scored superior on her latest battery of testing due to my work with her. Illegally spreading the remains of a dead relative at a theme park not something I would spend time thinking about.

I did notice you were from the UK, if I was traveling in another country (as I have multiple times) and I was told something was illegal, I would be sure not to do it. People have been deported for lesser offenses and then you would probably not be able to come visit whomever you were scattering.

I also love how you have decided which laws should and shouldn't be enforced. As for my breaking the law, well my foster parent license depends on me not breaking the law. So other than driving five miles over the speed limit, which is itself debateable because there is another law about not driving too slow on the parkway, I am clean.

Im actually from both the Us and the Uk my mum is British and my dad American!!! just live in the Uk at the moment all my papers and legal docs are US,My husband is actually due to be posted to the US and so we will be living in the US from early next yr.

So you have BROKEN a law then as your NOT ment to go even 1 mile over the speed limit :)
Guess it goes to show you pick and choose your rules just like everybody else!
I could go all into my personal life too but its not relavent to this thread!! I have done plenty of things with my Autistic son that i could go on and on about,The fact is in even a simple thread you point out everything you cant do according to yourself.

Also there are many on this thread that keep saying what they would and wouldnt do, Many of them see NO harm and would do it yet you keep coming bk to what My DH and Myself would do! I would try and remember we actually are right now in the situation of having to make very real plans, Maybe you would change your mind when in the actual situation maybe you wont? But i try hard not to judge until you are!
You keep saying your done with the thread but you cant help yourself but come back to it

right but if you read what I wrote there were two laws in conflict with each other one about the speed limit and one about driving with traffic and not driving too slow on the parkway, so its a catch 22. I could have stopped a police officer I suppose or just thrown my arms up and pulled off the road, but not very viable options.
I was quoting your husband or does he also have a US mom and UK dad? He was the one who made it personal by attacking me and my attitude based on my inability to agree with his position on a law.
