Do you think by December things will calm done and I am looking to book a trip in December and am nervous.

Honestly. No. It could be worse if we go into a combo flu/covid season. But, who knows? Every 2 months, the world is wildly changing. So, I'd plan your trip about a week out. If everything's good, you'll feel great going on vacation. And if everything's not, you won't be stressed out worrying about a vacation.

No the comorbidity of the regular cold and flu season with rising COVID infections is going to make this fall/winter ROUGH. States with any sense will be back in full lockdown and the rest will be in really bad shape. We have a fully cancellable trip, we are in driving distance, booked for November. But Im highly doubtful it will happen.

States could easily put 14 day restrictions on visitors from other states like NJ, NY and CT just did.

I am a bit worried about the aftermath of the election also.

I would say no. With the holiday travel from Thanksgiving and the start of flu season, that would be the last place I would want to go. I think you would have a much better time if you saved and went when this pandemic is actually over.
