Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge Coming to former Reflections Site in 2027!

It's an ugly son-of-a-gun, isn't it? Given it's so close to an existing resort with a strong theme of its own, why would Disney/DVC not try to harmonize the new build with the oh-so-close existing resort? And if they intend to do a reverse "harmonization" and change the Fort Wilderness Resort to match the ugly newbie, that's a lot of money that DVC doesn't want to spend on a resort that's not theirs.

But they're settling for a mish-mash of design and themes in order to cut corners and share the costs and sweep all the OBVIOUS problems under the rug. Why spend a DOLLAR and have a great 360-degree view when you can spend a DIME, cut corners, and look the other way? It's a cut-rate, spruced up Dollar General design. That's the corporate attitude. It's humiliating, it is. ::yes::

Good luck with that, DVC/Resort People.

While I am excited for this new DVC resort I was pretty shocked when I visited last weekend by how close it is to Ft Wilderness. I can 100% see why Ft Wilderness lovers would not be happy about it. They have so much land there, why does it have to be right on top of the Ft.

Yes it backs up to Crockette's Tavern, Pioneer Hall (Hoop-De-Doop), and the Game Arcade. The whole thing is very odd with the Ft. Wilderness cabins, and the DVC Welcome Home Center just down from the Settlement Depot.

It's hard to judge what a resort looks like during construction. Once the building is complete and they add the theming features I think it will fit in nicely.

I am beginning to think I would lose interest in DVC if they did not continue to build a new resort to explore every 2 years!
Hope I have enough points for at least one night .

We previously speculated the foundation work on the beach was in preparation for cabanas. Those could still be in the cards, but these triangular structures are much larger than cabanas would usually be. The one on the beach already has two vertical rectangular elements sticking out of its side.
I took this (poor) picture of the existing Wilderness Lodge cabanas today. They are much larger than my impression was. IMG_1400.jpeg

I think that is the Copper Creek DVC Cabins .

I THINK The new DVC Lakeside Resort will be similar to modern tent A-frame and will probably have an upper level balcony style bedroom overlooking the main floor below. Could be a really fancy 1 bedroom or 2 or 3 bedroom units.
They will be $$$

@OKW Lover knows the real name of the cabin in his post. Many of us just reference them as the Wilderness Lodge cabins.

And for the record they are known as the Cascade Cabins at Disney Wilderness Lodge. Copper Creek is officially only the South wing of the Wilderness Lodge. That' is how Disney lists them on their official resort maps.

We have been discussing the size of the new A-Frame units at Disney's Lakeshore lodge.

Thanks for the correction(s) on the name of the cabins. When I posted the picture I was drawing a blank on its official name.
