Disney’s Silver Plan & Bronze Plan Vacation Packages (2003)…

It would be wonderful if the bronze package could open up to guests from the U.S.A., I sould LOVE to use that on my November vacation. I don't think we would use all the wishes on the silver plan!!

Maleficent2, Disney's brochure states what food/drink items comprise a meal. Most meals are one Magical Wish, while certain others are two Magical Wishes.

From the brochure, a breakfast meal consists of the following:
One juice, one breakfast entree, and one hot beverage. Or, one full breakfast buffet.

Also from the brochure, a lunch/dinner meal consists of the following:
One appetizer, one entree, one dessert, and one drink (soda, juice, milk, regular coffee, or tea). Or, one full buffet.

I hope that clarifies things a bit more.

Lizmc, I agree. I'm one of the folks who prefers many options, especially when it comes to vacation. Sometimes a plan is just right, and sometimes it is not. If there were more plans to choose from, there would be a higher likelihood that I could find one that is just right. Gosh, I sound like Goldilocks, don't I? ;)

Wow and makes this option a real deal I think.
I added the silver plan to our FT package and the CM told me that it could be added later if you change your mind.

This is great info!!!! Janet - Thanks so much for your work.

Can we place this at the top of the Resort board Permanently???

Thanks!:D :D :D

Maleficent2, when you return from your Silver Plan Fairytale vacation, please post how it went. I can't wait to read all about it.

we have done the silver for the last 3 years (and LOVE it). isn't there a salad included in the meal for dinner. if i remember right it was not included on lunch but a salad was included at dinner. also did they add some restaraunts to the 2 wishes list this year?
thanks,
mikewdw

WATERCRAFT RENTALS:
-----------------------
One (1) Magical Wishes Feature per person
Set sail for a terrific outing with the whole crew! Watercrafts include Mercury Marine Water Mouse, canopy boats, Sun Tracker, pontoon boats, canoes, pedal boats, and sailboats (Specialty cruises not included).

Do you think that it really is 1 wish per person or maybe it should be 1 wish per rental? If it is as stated, at each wish worth about $33 x 4 people going on a boat, it would cost $132 per 1/2 hr. for a rental that would normally cost about $30 per 1/2 hr.

Can magical wishes be used for the children's Grand Adventure activities at the Grand Floridian?

Janet,

As long as this thread is up again (as well it should be!), can e.g. a Silver plan be added onto a room-only reservation, or must it be a complete package with UHP passes?

I think I have heard about adding to room-only, but maybe that was just a dream...

Mikewdw, to get the definitive answer to your salad question, you’re going to have to ask your server (my *guess* would be that if it’s included with your entrée, it will be included with your meal). When you arrive at the restaurant, please let your server know immediately that you are on the Silver Add-On Plan. Your server will tell you exactly what is included with your meal (and if your server isn’t well-versed in the Silver plan, kindly ask them to get the manager for you so that you can be told exactly what your meal options are for the Silver plan). In regards to your other question, I just checked my info for the old 2002 plans -- for 2003 (this year) there are two additional restaurants that require two Magical Wishes: the AKL's Jiko and the WL's Artist Point.

Buzzlady, I just sent a message to Disney with your question. I’ll let you know what they say. (I have a *guess,* but I don’t want to mislead you.)

Reflection, I am sad to say that the answer is “no.” And it has been for years. I know this for a fact because I have been complaining to Disney about this very topic for quite a few years now, most recently, just a few months ago when I was contemplating the Platinum Add-On Plan. I asked several different people within Disney if the three children’s activities at the Grand Floridian Resort (Pirate Cruise, Wonderland Tea Party, and Grand Adventures in Cooking) were covered under the Platinum plan. Every single CM responded that they were not covered under any of the vacation package plans (I should state for the record that this has been the same response that I have received for the past three years in regards to the Grand Plan). Of course, once again, I voiced my displeasure with this fact. And that’s all that I can do. That’s all that any of us can do. So, if it bothers you as much as it bothers me, please write and let Disney know. Maybe our voices in unison can help Disney have a change of heart regarding those three wonderful children’s activities that are found at the Grand Floridian Resort.

Erikthewise, I am sorry to tell you that an add-on plan may only be added onto a vacation package (one that contains accommodations and theme park tickets). Disney’s five “add-on” plans (Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, and Romance) can only be added onto the Dream Maker Package. And, as we all know, the Dream Maker Package includes accommodations and theme park tickets. Now, for the currently running Fairytale Package, only the Silver plan may be added onto it (and we all know that the Fairytale package includes accommodations and theme park tickets). I know this for certain because I have the Fairytale Package booked and I had wanted to add the Platinum plan to it. On more than one occasion, I was told the following: “The Silver Add-On Plan is the only plan that may be added onto the Fairytale Package.” I was very disappointed to hear that. The only way I could have added the Platinum package was if I had changed my reservation to the Dream Maker Package, which, for obvious reasons, I chose not to do. I haven’t decided yet if I’m going to add the Silver plan (it all depends upon what sort of vacation experience I want when the time comes).

Now that I’ve stated everything above, I must give my usual disclaimer: As with all things Disney, anything can change without prior notice. If you need to get the definitive answer to any of your vacation questions, please contact Disney directly.

If anyone has returned from a Silver Add-On Plan vacation, please post your experience here. Your fellow Dis'ers would love to hear all about it (and photos would be nice, too ;) ).

Thanks so much for the reply. It seems rather silly that the Grand Adventure activities would not be included, as they seem to originate out of the Grand Floridian's Mouseketeer Club. I will write to Disney as well and voice my displeasure. Thanks again for the response.

I'm sure someone asked and I missed it...but has anyone figured out if it is cost effective? We are doing the FT package in October at AKL. My husband wants to add the silver plan. I still have to figure out the numbers to see if it is worth it...but in case someone else has it may save me time! Thanks!

I thought the FTP ended 10/30. Have they extended it?

Opps I don't know how I did that, I mean October.

Buzzlady, I sent an e-mail to WDW Guest Services and in it I asked them if there were two adults in my party and one child, how many wishes would be required to rent two Water Mouse boats (the child is too young to be in a Water Mouse boat by herself). The response back to me was that two wishes would be required -- one per Water Mouse boat (per 30 minutes). I don't know if that answers your exact question, so if it doesn't, please contact Disney.
